May 28, 2020 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my crafty friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. We are a group of demonstrators sharing our ideas using this months kit – just in case you need some added inspiration. This month our kit is – A Kit In Color.

This month’s kit is bright and cheerful and perfect for sending out cards right now. Plus you get an early peek at four of the five limited edition Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2020-2022! Even the ink spot in the box is one of our new In Colors and Paper Pumpkin subscribers were the first to get their hands on it.

For my first idea I took the components for one set of cards from the kit and mixed up the pieces to create three different cards. My second idea uses the stamp set and some card stock featuring the new In Colors. If you want to see me make all these cards be sure to watch my Facebook Live video from May 25th – watch it here.
3 More Cards from the kit contents
I changed the orientation of each card base and then combined the pieces in a different way to create three more cards. So if you don’t want to make all the cards exactly the same this would give you some variety without adding any additional supplies to this month’s kit.

Here you can see all 6 cards – the 3 original cards and then my 3 alternate card ideas. The May kit includes enough supplies to make four of each card design so if you prefer you could make two sets of these 6 cards instead.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- I only used supplies from the kit
Rainbow Circle Card
For my second project I made a card using the color scheme and stamps from the kit. I was also able to use one of the epoxy stickers and some twine to finish the card. But if you didn’t have those left from this kit grab something similar from your craft supplies. The circles of card stock are cut with the Layering Circle Dies.
Use the Butterfly Duet punch to punch from the center of the large vellum piece (you’ll be covering it on your cards) or from a scrap of vellum in your craft room. The words You’re amazing were stamped on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and then fussy cut around them. One tip is that I added the left side to my layer of circles with liquid glue and the right side with a double stack of dimensionals. That kept everything on the same level. The 5 layers of card stock in the circle are about the same as one dimensional width. I hope that makes sense.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #140272 Thick Whisper White card stock
- #153080 Magenta Madness card stock (coming June 3rd)
- #153079 Just Jade card stock (coming June 3rd)
- #150881 Purple Posy card stock
- #153081 Misty Moonlight card stock (coming June 3rd)

- #151770 Layering Circle dies
- #110755 Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
- #144107 Take Your Pick Tool

Apr 30, 2020 | Cards, family, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – My Wonderful Family. It has a beautiful stamp sets and some fun fold cards.

Honor and celebrate YOUR wonderful family with the My Wonderful Family Paper Pumpkin Kit! During this time when so many of us are unable to physically be with our families, sending them our love has never been more important. In April’s thoughtful kit, you’ll find dainty die cuts of lovely leaves, bright butterflies, bluebirds, and other springtime staples you can use to decorate the coordinating tri-fold cards and envelopes. When combined with sentimental stamped phrases and small accents and embellishments, these simply beautiful cards are sure to add a little sunshine to your loved ones’ days.

I my first idea was to create a framed piece with a family photo. And let me say I LOVE how this turned out. It will be on the mantel in the family room. This virus has totally cancelled all our travel plans and that means we won’t get to see our boys in person. Today we should be in Korea visiting our middle son who moved there last September. But our trip was cancelled. I’m not sure when we will actually get to see him in person. And then on Tuesday we found out that Stampin’ Up! was moving our incentive trip to Hawaii that was slated for July and included a side trip to visit our oldest son who lives in Seattle. So not sure when we will see him either. But this project makes me happy.
Family Frame
I used the tree card and cut it apart to create the framed piece. The frame is 5×7 and I added a piece of Early Espresso card stock in the background. The dark green strip from the card was cut in half so that it would extend across the entire bottom of the framed piece. The rest of the elements are from the kit. I added a photo of our family – it’s old and fortunately my top matches!

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Early Espresso
- frame
- photo
Here for you Card
My next project is just a quick card mainly using the stamp set and some of the extra elements from the kit. I’ve read comments that some people didn’t need cards for family so I thought this one was perfect for anyone. The leaves on the tree are stamped multiple times both full strength and stamped off. The grass is just the edge of the leaves stamped over and over to look like the ground. To create the yellow twine I used Whisper White Baker’s Twine and colored it with a So Saffron Dark Stampin’ Blends marker.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – So Saffron, Whisper White
- Ink – Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron
- Whisper White Baker’s Twine
- So Saffron Dark Stampin’ Blends
I hope you liked these alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Apr 27, 2020 | 12 Cards of Christmas, Cards, Christmas |
So I’m a little behind. March just kind of blew up with all this virus mess. Which means I’m only on card 3 of my 12 Cards of Christmas. But I’ll catch up at some point. I’m continuing with my plan to get ahead on Christmas cards for December. If you want to read more or see card 1 – go here. And if you want to see card 2 – go here. This is card 3 and I used the brand new Ornate Garden Suite! Yep I turned that flower filled suite into a Christmas card and I hope you like it.

For this Christmas Card I wanted to try using the Ornate Garden Suite and the designer series paper with the gold foil in it. In order to make it a Christmas Card I paired it up with the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. Everything I used on this card is current – but the Christmas stamp set I used is on the Last Chance list so grab it before it’s gone. And the Ornate Garden Suite is an early release from the new catalog so you can order that now too.
How I made it
The card base is Thick Whisper White with an Old Olive Layer that was embossed with the new Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Gold Foil that I cut with the new Ornate Layers Dies. I cut a piece of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series paper to fit just inside the ornate frame piece.
The words are stamped on a piece of Whisper White that was die cut with the So Sweetly Stitched Dies. I stamped 3 flowers from the Ornate Style stamp set. And colored those with Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler – then fussy cut them with my Paper Snips. I also cut some Gold Foil paper with one of the border dies in the Ornate Border Die set and used the delicate negative leaves to tuck under my flowers. The flower centers are the Gilded Gems from the new suite. You can order all the products that I used for this card in my online store – the supply list is below.

- #152572 Ornate Style stamp set (part of Ornate Style bundle and Ornate Garden Suite)

Apr 7, 2020 | 2020 Mini catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Easter |
Hello to you! I hope you are well, staying safe and staying busy. This might be a great time to get some crafting done. With Easter coming up quickly this weekend I thought I’d share a couple of projects that I made this week. You can see these projects on my Facebook Live from April 6, 2020 – you can watch that here – https://www.facebook.com/325026102188/videos/1368024350047514/
In past years we have had big family events for Easter – sometimes with 35 people at our house. The past couple of years we haven’t done that and this year it will just be Greg and I. I guess it will be just like any other day but I thought I’d make a couple of little treats for the table and I may take some to the neighbors and I’m making cards to send to our family. So let me show you:
Easter Card

This idea came from the back of the Jan-June Mini catalog and I used stamp sets and dies that I already had on hand. The bunnies are colored with Stampin’ Blends – Crumb Cake light and Petal Pink light. The grass die cut was cut into two pieces and trimmed to fit inside the stitching on the Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die. Then I glued them on top of each other and added the bunnies with dimensionals. If you want the grass to look more like grass you can trim off the cat tails but I didn’t want to take the time to do that.
Supply List
- #149408 Wildly Happy stamp set
- #151111 A Wish for Everything Bundle = stamp set + Word Wishes dies
- #149546 Friendly Silhouettes dies
- #151690 Stitched So Sweetly dies
- #120953 Crumb Cake card stock
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #100702 Old Olive card stock
- #146985 Petal Pink card stock
- #132708 Memento Black ink pad
- #146866 Petal Pink Light Stampin’ Blends
- #144582 Crumb Cake Light Stampin’ Blends
- #103579 Paper Snips
Bunny Treat

I saw this little bunny treat shared online and it is so quick an easy to make with strips of Designer Series Paper. Wrap a hershey nugget or similar candy to go inside the bunny shape. They would make cute little treats to put at the table on Sunday. I’ve made some with the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
Supply List
- #149100 Perennial Essence Designer Series paper
- #102300 Bone Folder
- #122334 Simply Scored Scoring Tool
- #146912 Polka Tulle Ribbon
- #110755 Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
Spring Umbrella Cone

I made a little umbrella cone project as an alternate idea for the March 2020 – No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit. My original project used one of the envelopes to create the cone and then added candy and a tag using supplies from the kit. I decided to make another one using regular supplies that I had on hand. The Daisy punch can be used to make a bunny head and the balloon punch can be used to make eggs. To create the cone – trace a plate on a piece of 6×6 Designer Series paper.
Supplies
- #149615 6×6 Subtles Designer Series Paper
- #103579 Paper Snips
- #143713 Daisy Punch
- #140609 Balloon Bouquet Punch
- #143720 2-1/4″ Circle Punch
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #132708 Memento Black ink pad
- #105118 So Saffron card stock
- #151534 Timeless Tulips stamp set
- #124262 Whisper White Baker’s Twine
My classes will be a little different for the time being. At the end of March I tried a quick call to go – it was kind of a last minute thing. I’m working on a class to go – or class by mail – not sure what to call it yet. It will feature the new Ornate Garden Suite. I’ll share more about that soon.
