May 12, 2015 | Big Shot, In Colors, Retired List |
Last month I made these Curvy Keepsake boxes using the 2013-2015 In Colors. These lovely colors are leaving our collection right now and will be replaced with 5 new ones.
I went to a scrapbook weekend with some of my crafty friends back in April and I wanted to make a little treat for everyone. It was right after Easter and I found the little Lindt Chocolate Bunnies fit nicely inside. I probably should have added just a little “grass” inside to hold them still since they all shifted a bit when I picked the boxes up.
Like every year the retiring In-Color products – especially ink refills and then card stock tend to be gone in a flash. And this year was no different. It looks like the Thick Baker’s Twine is still available, Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock, Ink pads for Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush, the Markers and the Sequins are basically what is left in these colors. I hope you got what you wanted.
Here is a closer look at my little box and tag –
On the outside of each Curvy Keepsake box I stamped flowers from the Painted Petals stamp set. I also punched a circle in one side so the bunny could peek out.
The tags were punched with the Note Tag punch and stamped with the saying from Painted Petals. I used the little flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack to punch flowers. These I pierced holes in the center and then pulled through a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine that was tied in a little loop knot to create the center of each flower. Each tag was tied to the box with White Baker’s Twine. I mixed and matched all the In-Colors for one last project.
Good Bye – Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. We will miss you all!

May 11, 2015 | Big Shot, Cards, Masculine, Occasions Catalog 2015 |
This idea is really quick and easy and I’ve used it for a masculine card but it could just as easily be feminine, kids, or anything else with a change of the Designer Paper and colors.
I used the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper stack for my card. I cut the sheets in half for this design. This paper stack is great for masculine cards it has some nice patterns on one side and then photographed images on the other. The one i used here is like a knit sweater.
The Crazy About You stamp set has become one of my favorites and if you get the bundle with the coordinating Hello You Thinlits you have endless possibilities for what you want your card to say. I cut out the word happy from Early Espresso card stock and then stamped “Father’s Day” on a strip of Whisper White card stock. I stapled both of them to my piece of Designer Paper and then put it on the front of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Just to add a little bit of extra – if you look closely in the upper left and lower right corners I added some paper piercing using the Essentials Paper Piercing Template, a Stampin’ Pierce Mat, and a Paper-Piercing Tool.
You can’t see it here but I stapled a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside of my card too – so there was an easy place to write a message.
I hope you like this simple idea.

Here is my creation when I paired the Crazy About You stamp set & Framelit Bundle with the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper.
I really love how this card turned out. It is a great way to use up different sizes of Designer Paper – you don’t need to have the same shape with equal borders around every layer. Just pick up whatever sizes you have and layer them up – mixing the patterns and colors. I created a bunch of variations that I used for a swap this past weekend.
The die cut HAPPY is added to the skinny strip with some staples using the Stampin’ Up! stapler – don’t miss it in this week’s WEEKLY DEALS! And don’t forget to add the extra staples to your order too.
The leaves are stamped in Garden Green and then hand cut – I used 3 leaves instead of the full image. At the base of the leaves I added a button – the ones I used were from the Sale-A-Bration pack but you could pull from various colors in our Designer Buttons in the catalog. Or make your own using the clay and molds. Here is a close up of the button –
Do you know where the twine that I tied through the button comes from? It may be a little hard to figure out. Remember the Two-Tone Trim from the Holiday catalog – we had White & Tangerine Tango and it actually carried over into the Occasions Catalog – its’ on page 49. I took the trim and untwisted it to separate the colors and then used about 4 or 5 strands two go through my button. I used both the white and the tangerine tango throughout the full assortment of cards that I made. I thought it was a fun way to use it and get solid Tangerine threads in there. The trim also comes in Natural & Old Olive.
I hope you like this card as much as I do. Below is the full list of supplies that I used – click on any of them to go straight to my online store.

The highly popular Butterfly Thinlits Dies will be here soon! Here is the latest update from Stampin’ Up!:
Butterflies Thinlits Update
We have received notice from our supplier that the container with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies was finally unloaded from the ship; however, there is a shortage of trucks, which has delayed the container being picked up. We have secured a truck to pick up the container, and, as of now, it is scheduled to be delivered to Stampin’ Up! on Friday. We will post an update as soon as they are available.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continue to await their arrival!
So once they turn them back on (Friday it sounds like but I’ll update you for sure on my FB Business page – so make sure you Like my page and select get notifications so you will know) there is going to be a special! Here are the details on that:
We realize you may be disappointed you were not able to purchase the Thinlits in time to receive Sale-A-Bration rewards–especially in the discounted bundles. Therefore, from the day Butterflies Thinlits are again available through April 30, we are bringing you two special offers:
- Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount–just $21.20!
- Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at the already-discounted price and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
I hope one of those offers appeals to you!
Now back to my card that I created using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the thinlits.
I used Pear Pizzazz and Blackberry Bliss for this card and created a collage like effect in the background. And I just realized the pearl fell off of the butterfly before I took this photo! well if you look closely you can still see the glue dot where the pearl is supposed to be – darn.

Mar 25, 2015 | Big Shot, Scrapbook Crop, Tags |
I wanted to share these goody bags that I made for all the croppers and a scrapbook crop I went to earlier this month. I was a vendor and made 60 bags – one for each cropper that attended.
I used the Chevron paper bags in the Stampin’ Up! catalog and added a Paper Doiley, banner of All Abloom Designer Paper, and then stamped and cut pieces from the Chalk Talk stamp set and framelits. Finished with a punched flower, rhinestone and a paper clip tied with baker’s twine. Making 60 of them took some time but I really liked how they turned out – I hope all the croppers did too.
Now do you want to know what I included inside for everyone?
First I gave them all some of the All Abloom Designer Paper stack. Here is what all that paper looked like before going in the bags –
I also made up some little Project Life card samples using the Mini Kits from Sale-A-Bration –
They also got a flyer for the new Sale-A-Bration items for March, a postcard about Paper Pumpkin subscriptions, a Door Prize form, a business card from me, and a small spool of Baker’s Twine.
It sure does seem like I had something else in there but I can’t think of it right now.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!

I thought I would share another berry basket that I made recently. I made these as roommate gifts for the Leadership Conference at the end of January. Since we were in Orlando Florida I decided to give each of my roommates a “basket of sunshine”.
I made the berry basket with Daffodil Delight card stock. To decorate the side I cut the “hello” framelit out of Pool Party card stock and then added a Modern Label punch that I stamped with Sunshine. Plus a Daffodil Delight button and Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
I filled the basket with a Gussested Cello bag that had lots of yellow things inside. Including Lemon Heads – I thought I had a picture of those but I don’t – I should still have mine and will take a picture of those with the little tags. I made a bunch of those and gave them to my friends as I saw them throughout the conference.
Thanks for stopping by – hope you have sunshine where you are – today we have had on and off snow flurries and it is cold here (at least for us it is cold). The cold and the ice are causing lots of trouble around here. Yesterday my parents and my brother were unable to leave the street where they live because a tree came down on top of power lines blocking the road. At least they still had power – many other people didn’t.
