Butterfly Basics Swap Card

I posted a picture of these card parts on my Facebook Business page last month –

card-parts-butterlyMy laptop is giving me fits and everything is taking forever to do – so I’m going to keep this brief and try to add to the post later.

Here is the finished card:

butterfly-basics-godiva-swaIt’s really pretty in person.  We will be making this at a future Stamper’s Club meeting.  More details out on that soon.

Scattered Merry Christmas

Hey – 5 days in a row!  yes – 5 days of posts in a row – maybe I can stay on my posting schedule now.  Today I have card #3 from my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack classes.  This idea came from my good friend Cindy Schuster – it was a swap she made for her Artisan Team at convention – I made a few changes from her original – including adding the frosted sequins from the Holiday catalog (they were not available yet when Cindy made her card).

scattered-merry The Smoky Slate later is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Embossing folder and then use the Whisper White craft ink pad to rub ink over it.  On the envelope I used the edge of the Merry Stamp to add the snowflakes.  Here is a full list of supplies –

Fun Turkey Treats for Thanksgiving

One of my most favorite new dies from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is the Curvy Keepsake Box die.  When I saw it in the catalog I think I might have squealed with glee!  I’m so glad that I ordered it right away as it has been so incredibly popular it is currently on back order!  It is definitely one that you will want to have,  It is actually super easy to assemble – I use the Fast Fuse adhesive on mine – you could also use sticky strip or even the multi-purpose liquid glue.  You just want a strong adhesive so that you can put something fun inside and it won’t come apart.

Are you ready for this fun project ready for Thanksgiving!!!

turkey-boxI made a TURKEY!!  Originally I hadn’t planned on ordering the Four Feathers stamp set and framelit bundle but when I realized they could be the feathers on a turkey I added them to my next order.  Really I bought it just to make this project.  However I have been using the feathers for other things too.

Here is a better look at the turkey face from the front.

turkey-box2Just a couple of notes on the face.  The nose is the little heart punch – I attached the eyes to each lobe of the heart.  And the waddle is the little flower with two opposite petals cut off.  Both punches are part of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Below is a full list of the supplies that I used.

Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat – Tiny Treat Box gift

One of the fun things about the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat are the little gifts that everyone gets.  It’s like the pillow gifts that Stampin’ Up! gives when you go on one of their incentive trips.  But since not everyone at the retreat is staying the night instead of leaving them gifts on their pillows I leave them on their table spot where they are crafting.  This year the first little gift they got was a Tiny Treat Box.

bitty-boxInside these cute little boxes was a package of the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape – it’s just the perfect size to fit inside!  Everyone then used the washi tape on one of the Make&Take projects and took the rest home.

Curvy Keepsake Holiday Trio Boxes

A few weeks ago I had my Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat at my house for the weekend. It was tons of fun and I can’t wait to start planning a spring retreat.  One of my favorite projects was this cute trio of holiday boxes made with the Curvy Keepsake Die.  There is one for Halloween, one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.

curvy-box-trioI really love this die!  It is so easy to assemble these little boxes and you just need some adhesive to attach the two pieces together – I used Fast Fuse.  The little boxes are fun to decorate and there are already tons of ideas out there.  Here is a photo of some of the girls working on their boxes during the retreat –

retreat-curvy-box-tableThe Halloween box is fun – made from clear window sheets with a little tea light inside and a ghost hanging on the handle.

curvy-clear-ghostThe Thanksgiving box is a fun little pumpkin.  I used the lines from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create the lines that would be grooves on a pumpkin.  And then we added leaves – stamped, die cut ones and a wood one.

curvy-thanks-pumpkinThe “boo to you” and “thankful” stamps are from the Good Greetings stamp set which a special hostess stamp set that you can earn through the end of October.  It has lots of fun little greetings in it for the holidays.  You need a $300 workshop/party to get this set for free!

And the Christmas one – or even just a winter holiday one – is just so pretty with the Lost Lagoon and silver.  And the cute little snowflake charm is a fun accent.

curvy-snowflake-joyand here is one more picture of it so you can see the silver snowflakes stamped on two sides of the box.

Seasonally Scattered Thanks

Here is a Fall Thank You card with a fun little technique that is perfect for the Seasonally Scattered stamp set.

Scattered-thanksTo create the stamped image ink the stamp with the Crushed Curry ink. Then use a sponge dauber and the Pumpkin Pie ink to add color directly around the word.  This leaves you with the outer edges of the stamped image in the Crushed Curry color and the words in the darker Pumpkin Pie color.  You could try different combinations of colors to get a different effect.  Then cut the image out with the Oval framelit dies to add to the front of the card.

The card base is Crumb Cake with an additional layer of Crumb Cake that has been embossed with the Wood Grain Embossing Folder.  Adding Baker’s Twine, the branch underneath and the gold button finish off the card.
