Stamper’s Club

welcome-frameTonight is Stamper’s Club night.  I always look forward to everyone coming over for a fun girl’s night out.  I love the projects we make and the time we get to visit together.  One of the projects we are making tonight is the frame with the Decor Elements.  I made one in February for my Mom and probably posted it on my blog then.  This is the one I made for me and I changed a couple of things.  First I used a different Decor Elements – mine is the “Welcome” – and this is the small size.  Then on the butterflies I tied Linen Thread around the centers instead of using thin strips of Chocolate Chip card stock.

Tonight the club members will be making theirs and I hope that they’ll let me take pictures and post them on here.  There are a few different Designers Series papers that I used for them and everyone has the Inspiration Decor Elements – which has four word choices so I’m sure everyone will have something different.

The stamps set I used are the Inspired by Nature and Baroque Motifs (on the butterflies).  The Designer Series paper is from Urban Garden.  The colors used are Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip.  Trobinhe Decor Elelments is in Chocolate Chip.  The butterflies are die-cut with the Big Shot and the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies die – one of my favorite.

For an update on the birds today – the blue bird now has four eggs – we’ll see if there is anothe one tomorrow or if they are done with 4.  Normally they have 4-5 eggs.  Mrs. Robin is nicely sitting on her nest – here is a better picture of her.

I checked the Towhee nest – mom was out for a bite to eat – and the strangest thing – now there are 3 eggs – one is missing and it looks like the littest egg is still there – I’ll to see if I can figure out what happen with that.  Very strange… a missing egg.

Have a fun evening – I’m having girls night!

Butterfly Kisses

When I made the layout for my scrapbook class this week that had the butterflies I was really thinking that it would be perfect for the pictures from my mom’s birthday.  So last night I made it again with different colors – I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray to match the cake I made her.  I had the pictures printed this morning and put them on my layout a little while ago.  Here is the result:

I thought the title would be fun.  Today is also the deadline for the Stampin’ Up! class challenge and at the last minute I did decide to enter again with this project.  There were two challenge’s this month and I entered into the scrapbooking one.  I spent the morning taking and editing the pictures of the layout and writing up the step-by-step instructions.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Happiness Scrapbook Page

A couple of days ago I shared a sneak peek of one of the scrapbook pages from my class.  I really love how it turned out.  The layout is from a scrapbook magazine but I changed it to use all Stampin’ Up! products of course.  The new Beautiful Butterlies Die for the Big Shot is one of my favorite!  I used the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper from the Sale-A-Brations brochure one more time.  I hope you like it.

Big Shot and my Craft Room

Today I have added two new pages to my blog – you can find them on the right-hand side bar ubig-shot1nder PAGES.

One is information about the BIG SHOT.  I have had mine now for several months and I LOVE IT!   I have noticed that alot of people have questions about the Big Shot and all the different dies and how to create the sandwiches.  So I have decided to add this page about the Big Shot.  I will be adding to this page over time.  Right now it includes a list of the different types of dies with a description and the sandwich that you use to run it through the Big Shot machine.  I have also included a link to a pdf file containing a list of the various materials that the BIGZ and Originals dies can cut through.

The other is a page about my CRAFT ROOM.  This is where I work and have classes.  I have taken a few pictures and will be taking some more.  This one shows one of my stools with a Decor Elements flower on it.  I will be adding to this page to show you other parts of my craft room.

All my Easter invites are completed – I put a few in the mail today, but ran out of stamps – so I’ll take them to the post office on Monday and get them mailed.

Ryan had a soccer game this afternoon – they won 2 to 1.  Kyle went to a Math Tournament – like normal he didn’t have much to say about it.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Stamping!

Wagons Full of Eggs

easter-invite-supplies I’m making wagons full of eggs.  Well there is really only one egg in each wagon – the eggs are big.  In fact when I got this stamp set it was much bigger than I was expecting it to be.  This is one of the new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini that starts on April 1st – but this set is available NOW – it is one of the early ones since it has the egg in it for Easter.  It is called Wagon Full of Fun and is a great all-occasion set  – it has the wagon, the egg, a cupcake (on the little box I showed a few days ago), a flower in a pot, a duck and a heart.  There are also four greetings in the set too.  It is line-art so in most cases you’ll want to color it in with something – blender pen, aqua-painter, markers or whatever you like to use.  Here is a close up of the card (actually it is an invitation) and all the details for you.

easter-invite

I am making a bunch of these to send to our family to invite them over to our house for lunch on Easter Sunday and an egg hunt for the kids.  We have done this for many years and I don’t really have to send out an invitation – they all know they are invited – but I enjoy making them so I do.  We usually have about 35 people here from all over – mostly parts of Georgia but also Florida and Indiana.  Anyway – on to how to make the card.

Card base: Sahara Sand 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – scored at 4-1/4″

Designer Paper layer: Delicate Dots Designer paper 5-1/4″ x 4″

Top Note layer: Certainly Celery 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ then use the Big Shot and the Top Note die.  I also ran it through the Big Shot again using the small dots Texturz plate – it is hard to see in the photo.  Then I put it on my paper cutter and lined up the center points on the 1-1/2″ line and cut one end off.

Eggs: from Wagon Full of Fun set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on the Delicate Dots Designer Paper.  Cut by hand and the dots and zigzags were colored with Stampin’ Write markers – Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Bashful Blue.

Wagon: from Wagon Full of Fun set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on Naturals White card stock.  Watercolored using an Aquapainter and Watercolor Crayons – colors I used were Creamy Carmel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.  Cut by hand.  Attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front of the card.

You’re Invited: from the Mark the Date stamp set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on Sahara Sand card stock, punched with the small oval punch and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

Envelopes: Whisper White Medium Envelope, stamped with the egg and colored with the markers.

I ran each card base piece through my printer before I started to print all the information on the inside first.

I’m finishing them up now and will mail them out tomorrow.  I hope you like it!

The Delicate Dots Designer Paper is availabe as a Sale-A-Bration FREE item when you spend $50.  This ends on March 31st so hurry and get your order in – visit my website www.monika.stampinup.net – and click on the SHOP NOW button to order online anytime you want.  Right now Stampin’ Up! will also send you a free Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog with your order too.  And your name will be entered into a drawing for a free stamp set that I’ll be giving away at the end of the month.  So Hurry before the end of March arrives!

Have a happy stamping day!  I’m always happy on class days and we had fun this morning!

Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die

manhattan-dieIsn’t  this the most elegant embossed image you have ever seen?

When they showed this to the demonstrators at the Leadership Conference you should have heard the sounds of excitement!  This is the new Stampin’ Up! Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die that is now available for the BIG SHOT.  I know it is hard to see in this picture but the card background is actually black.  The embossed image is on Pretty in Pink and then the flowers are sponged in with the Stampin’ Pastels to add some color to the flowers.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Nature stamp set – stamped in Basic Black and punched with the large oval punch.  The new Oval Scallop punch is punched out of Basic Black card stock – this punch will be available April 1st in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Two black brads from the Vintage Brad assortment are on either side of the oval.  We made this card at the STARZ meeting.

I can just picture these embossed flowers on wedding invitations – quick simple and elegant!    There is a coordinating stamp set (Fifth Avenue Floral), Designer Series Paper (Urban Oasis) and the Manhattan Flower Decor Elements too.  You could decorate an entire room in this theme!  Visit my website at www.monika.stampinup.net – click on the SHOP NOW button and then do a search on ‘Manhattan’ and you can see all of these products and some sample projects too.

Thanks for visiting today!
