Apr 17, 2009 | Big Shot, Under the Stars |
Last week was spring break and we had hoped to go camping for a couple of nights and build a fire and have smores. Well the weather didn’t cooperate with us at all – so no camping, no fire and no smores were had by us. I brought home the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for another day.
I remembered this project I made last fall after the Under the Stars stamp set was realeased (and our Big Shot). This is one of my favorite projects. It would be great for a scout group or just to make for your kids when you go on a family camping trip – or if you are having a backyard campout for a birthday theme.
Supplies:
- Under the Stars stamp set
- Chocolate Chip card stock
- Kraft card stock
- Naturals ivory card stock
- Chocolate Chip classic ink
- Jet Black Stazon ink
- Big Shot die-cut machine
- Top Note die
- Watercolor Wonder Crayons – Earth Elements
- Aqua Painter
- Stampin’ Dimenstionals
- stapler/staples
- Smores – graham crackers, marshmallow, chocolate
What a Yummy Treat! If you don’t have a camp fire – try the microwave version – build your smore (graham cracker, chocolate, Marshmallow) and heat for about 15 second in the microwave (until the marshmallow puffs). Take out and add the other graham cracker to the top to make a sandwhich.
Have a great weekend!

When I had my scrapbook class at the end of March we used the Daisies #2 flower die with the Big Shot to create So Saffron flowers for one of the pages. We used only the small and medium flowers so I had the large ones left and had it laying on my craft table all week. I also had the new Jumbo Grommets from the Occasions Mini catalog that I had been looking at for ideas. Well I decided to take one and put it in the middle of that flower and it fit perfectly! Then I had this idea to add the Bead Duo large beads to the center. So now I had to turn it into a card. So after pulling out different colors and Designer Papers – it turned out the Washington Apple paper had the perfect flower print on it. I finally came up with this card:
Here is list of supplies:
Bashful Blue card stock
Pumpkin Pie card stock
So Saffron card stock
Washington Apple Designer Series paper
Big Shot Die-cut machine
Flowers, Daisies #2 die
Basic Jumbo Grommets – white
So Saffron 1/2″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Crystal Effects
Orange Bead Duo
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Family Phrases stamp set
Riding Hood Red classic ink
I hope you like it. This was my late Thursday night creation along with a couple of others that I’ll share another time.
Happy Stamping!

Sorry for the late post today. It is spring break week for the boys and we are visiting my parents for a few days. Greg was working on their computer after we got here and now it is all up and running again. So my post is really late.
This project was another one that we made at the Regional Seminar in Orlando. It uses the Soft Summer stamp set from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. I made another pouch back in February that was this same style. You add a cello bag to the inside of this fold over pouch. The flower is one of the embosslits dies. We used Designer Series Paper and then sanded it to reveal the white core of the paper. This won’t work with Stampin’ Up! cardstock because it doesn’t have a white core so make sure to use Designer Series paper if you want this look.
Here is the supply list:
Soft Summer stamp set (Occasions Mini)
Kiwi Kiss card stock: 4-1/2″ x 3/4″
Baja Breeze textured card stock: 4″ x 12″
Tangerine Tango Patterns Designer Series paper: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
Baja Breeze classic ink
Chocolate Chip classic ink
Chocolate Chip Corduroy Button (one 1/2″ brad)
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Sticky Strip
1/16″ circle punch
sanding blocks
Big Shot Die-cut Machine
Simply Flower Embosslits die
Here is the bird update right before we left I checked on all four nests. The bluebirds still had 5 eggs so she should be done and ready to start incubating – which will be good because tomorrow it is supposed to get cold down to 30 degrees by Tuesday AM. The chickadee was in her house. The robin was sitting in her nest and the towhee on hers. So they are all incubating those eggs and now we will just have to wait until the babies started to hatch. Which will probably be Easter or later – I’ll have to get out my calendar and mark the dates and see approximately what day it will be.
Have a good week. I’ll be adding more stamping projects for the next few days so do check back!

The girls at the club meeting last night made some gorgeous framed art. I took pictures of them so that I could share with everyone. Some of them used the new Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog – Walk in the Park. Click on each one to see a larger image.
I think they all turned out great! The girls had lots of ideas for other frame projects and everyone loved the Decor Elements. So easy to apply. If you want to see the full line of Decor Elements click on the link in my side bar to take you to the catalog.
Happy Decorating!
