Mar 26, 2009 | Big Shot, Sale-A-Bration 2009, Scrapbook Pages |
A couple of days ago I shared a sneak peek of one of the scrapbook pages from my class. I really love how it turned out. The layout is from a scrapbook magazine but I changed it to use all Stampin’ Up! products of course. The new Beautiful Butterlies Die for the Big Shot is one of my favorite! I used the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper from the Sale-A-Brations brochure one more time. I hope you like it.
Happy Stamping!

Mar 20, 2009 | Big Shot, Occasions Mini 2009, Sale-A-Bration 2009 |
I’m making wagons full of eggs. Well there is really only one egg in each wagon – the eggs are big. In fact when I got this stamp set it was much bigger than I was expecting it to be. This is one of the new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini that starts on April 1st – but this set is available NOW – it is one of the early ones since it has the egg in it for Easter. It is called Wagon Full of Fun and is a great all-occasion set – it has the wagon, the egg, a cupcake (on the little box I showed a few days ago), a flower in a pot, a duck and a heart. There are also four greetings in the set too. It is line-art so in most cases you’ll want to color it in with something – blender pen, aqua-painter, markers or whatever you like to use. Here is a close up of the card (actually it is an invitation) and all the details for you.
I am making a bunch of these to send to our family to invite them over to our house for lunch on Easter Sunday and an egg hunt for the kids. We have done this for many years and I don’t really have to send out an invitation – they all know they are invited – but I enjoy making them so I do. We usually have about 35 people here from all over – mostly parts of Georgia but also Florida and Indiana. Anyway – on to how to make the card.
Card base: Sahara Sand 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – scored at 4-1/4″
Designer Paper layer: Delicate Dots Designer paper 5-1/4″ x 4″
Top Note layer: Certainly Celery 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ then use the Big Shot and the Top Note die. I also ran it through the Big Shot again using the small dots Texturz plate – it is hard to see in the photo. Then I put it on my paper cutter and lined up the center points on the 1-1/2″ line and cut one end off.
Eggs: from Wagon Full of Fun set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on the Delicate Dots Designer Paper. Cut by hand and the dots and zigzags were colored with Stampin’ Write markers – Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Bashful Blue.
Wagon: from Wagon Full of Fun set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on Naturals White card stock. Watercolored using an Aquapainter and Watercolor Crayons – colors I used were Creamy Carmel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. Cut by hand. Attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front of the card.
You’re Invited: from the Mark the Date stamp set, stamped using Black StazOn ink on Sahara Sand card stock, punched with the small oval punch and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.
Envelopes: Whisper White Medium Envelope, stamped with the egg and colored with the markers.
I ran each card base piece through my printer before I started to print all the information on the inside first.
I’m finishing them up now and will mail them out tomorrow. I hope you like it!
The Delicate Dots Designer Paper is availabe as a Sale-A-Bration FREE item when you spend $50. This ends on March 31st so hurry and get your order in – visit my website www.monika.stampinup.net – and click on the SHOP NOW button to order online anytime you want. Right now Stampin’ Up! will also send you a free Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog with your order too. And your name will be entered into a drawing for a free stamp set that I’ll be giving away at the end of the month. So Hurry before the end of March arrives!
Have a happy stamping day! I’m always happy on class days and we had fun this morning!

Mar 8, 2009 | Sale-A-Bration 2009, Stamper's Club, Techniques |
It has been some time ago that I started a Technique Book. As I teach various stamping techniques I incude a Technique Card with the class. Lately I have been sharing new techniques as part of my Stamper’s Club meetings. Sometimes I include them in my regular hands-on classes. The book itself is a 4×6 photo album. I created a cover for it – I used the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set in Bravo Burgandy. An added bonus to the Technique Book is that we are also building a card stock sampler. Each technique page is on a different color of cardstock and I include the name on the card so you will know what it is.
Here is an example of one we have done in the past – Two-Step Stampin’ –
In our first two club meetings this time we learned the Stained-Glass technique – which I shared on my blog last month. This month we learned a Faux silk technique.
The stamp set is the Botanical Blooms from the SAB brochure. We added texture to the card front using the Big SHot and the Eyelet plate from the Stampin’ Up! backgrounds 1 Texturz plates collection. The card base is Basic Grey with So Saffron and the Basic Grey Tafetta Ribbon.
If you are interested in learning a particular Stamping technique contact me today about hosting a Stampin’ Up! party for you and your friends and I’ll crated a project especially for you featuring the technique you want to learn.
If you would like to visit one of my Stamper’s Club meetings or find about more about being a member please contact me today. We make some fun projects each month. It is a great way to spend a girl’s night out.
Enjoy your weekend. We have some gorgeous weather here. Ryan and Greg just headed out to another soccer game. Ryan still seems to be sore from his incident yesterday – he says his neck an back hurt a little. And tonight we are having my birthday dinner since we have been busy every other night with one thing or another.
Smiles!
