Just 2 more days until the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and 2017 Occasions Catalog officially retire! Don’t miss some great products – Gorgeous Grunge is one of my most used stamp sets and the Star Framelits and star punch are retiring – that one still baffles me. So if you want the stars get them now.
2 more days until the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog begins! Ordering begins June 1st at 2:00 PM ET (12 noon MT). If you don’t have your new catalog yet let me know.
Here is another Something Old project for you:
This uses the Cool Treats Suite from the Occasions catalog. This sweet is perfect for summer! And luckily the stamp set and the framelits are staying – but the two bundled together will retire – so save 10% by ordering them as a bundle now. The fun Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Paper is also retiring. The Watermelon Wonder is one of our retiring In-Colors and it is in this paper – I used the card stock to make the little strawberries – aren’t they the cutest! Some other items in the suite are the washi tape and Sprinkles Embellisments – those will be retiring too. If you go to the Stampin’ Up! FB page the Artisan Design team had a bunch of projects with this suite.
And today’s something new project –
How about this fun, bright, birthday card! It features one of our brand new In-Colors called Lemon Lime Twist! I used the card stock and a piece of the new Fresh Florals Designer Paper Stack for this card. This new color on the Basic Black just pops! I also used a brand new bundle – Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle – it’s one that you might overlook in the catalog. It includes this awesome Happy Birthday Thinlits die – I love the font and the size of it. And there is a stamp set that you can use with it – that’s where the word BELATED comes from. I think I need a whole big stack of these cards since I’ve missed lots of birthdays since the beginning of the year.
Remember to SHOP NOW for the retiring items and make your shopping list for new items to order in June. If you live local be sure to come to my Catalog Kickoff Party & BOGO Sale on Saturday, June 17 – visit my calendar HERE.

Now for some projects to share with you – I’ve decided to do a few posts to count down these last few days that I’m calling Something Old, Something New. So here we go – today’s something old project:
Its the lovely Succulent Garden Suite from the Occasions catalog. The succulents are quite trendy right now. I know I see them every day on the Ellen show on her table. And I’ve seen some pretty realistic looking creations made with these stamps, dies and card stock. Hurry and get these goodies before they are gone – the Oh So Succulent stamp set, Succulent Framelits Dies, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and cardstock pack. A couple of the retiring colors are in this suite so be sure to get cardstock and ink in those colors too – Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.
And today’s something new –
I love this new bundle – Colorful Season Bundle – it’s a stamp set and coordinating Thinlits dies that are perfect for every season of the year. These are part of a suite called Color Theory – and I used just a little peek of the Designer Paper on this card. You are going to love this bundle & suite and be able to use them all year long!
Remember to SHOP NOW for the retiring items and make your shopping list for new items to order in June. If you live local be sure to come to my Catalog Kickoff Party & BOGO Sale on Saturday, June 17 – visit my calendar HERE.
At the end of April I held a Sale-a-Bration Celebration event for my customers and my downline. It was an event that they had to qualify to attend – they were able to see some sneak peeks of new products from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! catalog. Everyone made a few projects, had some snacks, we played Bingo for fun prizes and I made everyone a little gift. I made them a little note holder.
I used the thick card board pieces that come in some of our designer series paper packs and cut the card board into 5″ x 3″ pieces. Then I cut pieces of Designer Paper to cover one side of the card board. Each notebook has a front and a back. I cut regular printer paper to put on the inside. I used my old crop-a-dile to punch a hole through the cardboard and paper and added a ring to hold it all together.
To decorate the front I cut letters using the Large Letters Framelits – NOTE – from coordinating card stock. I used the Blossom Builder punch to punch a little flower and glued it on the O and added a pearl to the center. I tied some matching ribbon on the ring. A cute and useful little gift for everyone.
I made all different ones using up lots of my paper that I had left. I let everyone that came to the event pick one out as they arrived. Those that were unable to attend – you have a packet coming in the mail – they went out today. They should all have plenty of space to write down what they want from the new catalog.
I recently had a retreat for my Stamper’s Club. A weekend getaway at a cabin in the north Georgia mountains. It is fun to spend time with our girlfriends – we can be there for each other, get away from what is going on at home and be creative at the same time. One of my favorite things is to make them little gifts that I can surprise them with throughout the weekend. I do this at all my retreat type events and its so fun. In fact in June I’m hosting a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Getaway weekend – so if you are close to or willing to travel to the North Georgia area for a weekend getaway let me know and I’ll get you the information.
Today I want to share the Popcorn Munchie treats I made for everyone. Well I didn’t make the popcorn – another friend of mine did that – she actually does this as her full time business and has a popcorn stand in the Atlanta area. I was able to get some bags of caramel corn from her and used them at my retreat.
It’s fun to take a store bought treat and give it a makeover with our Stampin’ Up! supplies. For these popcorn bags I used the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (its retiring) and pulled out the Real Red Striped paper and cut and scored some strips the width of my bags to make a topper.
I used the Ready To Pop stamp set and the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to decorate my topper. I used Whisper White and Real Red card stock and some Real Red ink for the labels. I decided to add some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine (it’s retiring) tied around and in a bow to finish it off. It was fairly quick – i used my stapler to staple the striped paper to the top of the bag and then covered that with my label.
By the way the Ready to Pop Bundle – which includes the stamp set and the Popcorn Box Thinlits Dies is on the retiring list – it will save you 10% if you order now instead of later. They will both be in the new catalog but not as a bundle.
Did you know that? When Stampin’ Up! releases a new bundle it will be available for a limited time – the length of the catalog it was released in. Then if the items are still available after that they are no longer offered as a bundle. The catalogs are filled with bundles so be sure to look for those and save!
Thanks for popping in today! Ha Ha – get it? I’m really not funny at all – so when I think of something funny I have to point it out! And if you tell me a joke and I look at you funny it’s not you or your joke – it’s usually me – I normally just don’t get it – my family teases me about that all the time.
For this card I’ve combined several products from the retiring list. I hate to waste pieces of the specialty designer paper like this one from Affectionately Yours collection with copper embossed elements on it.
To maximize a piece of 12×12 paper I often cut it into 3×4″ pieces and use that on a card front. I stamped on the background piece with the flowers in the stamp set – it’s Watermelon Wonder ink on Watermelon Wonder card stock. Then add the piece of Designer series paper to the front.
I used the Crazy About You stamp set to stamp the Mother’s Day sentiment on a strips of Whisper White card stock. Then added that along the front of the card. Finish with a die cut of Copper Foil using the Hello You Thinlits.
Be sure to order these products before they all sell out:

Hello! I created this cute project for Easter and decided to make a video to show how I made it. It’s not perfect – in fact I didn’t do any editing on the video at all – so sorry about the little outburst from the dogs in the middle. Hopefully I explained it enough so that it makes sense to everyone. Below I’ll include a list of the supplies that I used.
I had this project in my mind because of the little carrot in the Basket Bunch stamp set. Every Easter I buy these little chocolate carrots and wanted to make something combining them with the stamp set. I almost got upset when I couldn’t find the chocolate carrots at the store – I though oh no I finally have an idea and they have stopped making them! But I found them at my grocery store and when I went back yesterday they had even more than the first time I went. Anyway here is my little project –
I used part of the packaging that the candy comes in – it holds the carrot inside my little box. I explain that in the video but here are a few photos too.
Here is the video for you – I hope you’ll take a look and let me know what you think.
