May 18, 2009 | class, Designer Series Paper, Punch Art |
Today is just disappearing so fast – jazzersize, then a trip to the vet – Aspen is much better but still needs 4 weeks of rest – no running, jumping, etc…. – then I think I’ve been on the computer all day, emails about my May Class to Go kit, and the Designer Paper Share for May, updating some things on my website, then working on all the “finance” stuff and now I’m ready to go to the bank, also need to stop at the dry cleaners (Ryan’s pants for tomorrows band concert) and grocery store (rest of tonight’s dinner – and milk is on sale!) But I wanted to get this done before I go do that.
At Friday’s class the theme was Masculine projects – we made the little suitcase using Sense of Time that I featured during the April blog tour – the post is April 27th (I think that was the date). And we made the little note card set that uses Forest Friends – I had that on my blog earlier too. You can click on a category to see posts only related to that category – both of those projects featured sets from the Occasions Mini Catalog so click on that category to look for those. And I have a search option – although I honestly haven’t tried it to see if it works – I should go check that out.
So then we made two other card projects and here is one of them
– the shirt card.
I saw this idea at the Leadership conference back in January and have been waiting for it to get close to Father’s Day so I could use it in a class. There was a demonstrator that had made a bunch of shirt cards for a swap that I was not part of but she let me take a picture and showed me how she made it – wasn’t that sweet! I just don’t know who it was since I didn’t get one of her cards.
Anyway – I’m not positive that I made it exactly the same way that she did – I only had a picture so I played around with the measurements. I also used different colors. What I decided that I liked was to use a 1″ cut. So on the fold from the center cut 1″ down. Then cut 1″ across towards the center of the card. On the outer edge, start 1″ down and cut 1″ across toward the center. You end up with two flaps which you fold over to create the collar of the shirt – is that not clever! I created a tie template by drawing it out on my grid paper to the shape I wanted. I used the small tag punch for the knot on the tie and for the pocket. Everything is sponged to give it dimension. Some other ideas would be to add little buttons to the collar, I even considered adding textured to the shirt but decided not too. On the inside I stamped “to my Wonderful father” from the Wonderful Favorites stamp set. You could also use uncle, son, grandfather, nephew and other from that stamp set and make it a personal card for one of the guys in your life. The patterned paper we used was Manchester, card stock is Always Artichoke. This is really a quick card!
Have fun with it!
I’ll have the instructions from the blog tour tin either tomorrow or Wed. so if you are looking for that – I haven’t forgotten.

I think I covered it all. I have been wanting to do something with this stamp set and the card elements for a few months now and when I saw the June Stampin’ Success it all came together. My inspiration piece was the treat holder on the front cover. I hope you like it. The cards include a combination of birthday, thank you and blank cards.
Happy Stampin’!

I hope you are having a wonderful Mother’s Day!
I wanted to share the projects from the Mini Mother’s Day class I had last week. Everyone had a great time and said I needed to add more last minute classes! I just knew I hadn’t had a class with anything Mother’s Day, not that you couldn’t use almost anything we make as a Mother’s Day card and gift, but I wanted to do something specific for Mother’s Day. NOTE: to my mom – don’t read or look any further until I see you or it won’t be a surprise.
I saw the book mark idea last year at convention – that was at the end of July and have wanted to make them for a class ever since then. I ordered the hardware pieces and have just been waiting for the right class to add the book mark too. I finally just decided to do the book mark for Mother’s Day and build a class around it instead. So I announced the class with plans to make the book mark, a Mother’s Day card – I have been seeing the flower pot cards and thought it would be perfect, and then a box of some type to hold the book mark for gift giving. Then the next day I went to the retreat and by the time I came home I had everything figured out. One of the projects that Wendy shared was the cutest little purse made with the Big Shot and several dies. I changed the colors and designer paper and ta-da the box for my bookmark was born. Michelle shared her version of a flower pot card – that was just what I needed for my class. I took her idea, changed the colors and actually made it smaller because I needed it to fit in the medium envelopes – I didn’t have any large envelopes here and wanted a matching envelope for the class. The ideas and the retreat were perfect timing and my class projects were figured out and ready in time for class Wed. night.

May 1, 2009 | class, Pocket Silhouettes, Stamps, SU Ribbon |

I have decided to have a MINI CLASS on Wednesday, May 6th at 6:30 pm.
It is going to be a Mini Mother’s Day class – you will make a card, a bookmark and a box to hold the bookmark.
These don’t have to be Mother’s Day if you don’t have a need for that.
Depending on how many people sign up you may be able to make two sets if you need to.
The class fee will be $10 – please bring your scissors and adhesive.
RSVP by Tuesday, May 5th so I know how many people to expect.

Apr 26, 2009 | Blog Tour, class, Scrapbook Pages |
My next scrapbook class is on Wed. April 29th and I wanted to give you a sneak peek of one of the pages we will be making. We will be using the All in the Family Stamp set along with both set of Accessories so the possibilities for this 2-page spread are going to be endless. There will be two 2-page 12×12 layouts for this class and the class fee is $20. Please RSVP today. If you need more information visit my Stampin’ Up! Website and check out my events calendar.
If you want more scrapbook pages consider visiting the Wow Scrapbook Kits Blog that I created for Wendy and I to sell scrapbook kits. We will have the new kit for May available for order on May 1st. Orders placed by May 20th will include a free paper and embellishment pack. You can also order instruction sheets for the individual layouts. Visit our blog for more information about our kits. We will also be posting scrapbooking tips on the Wow Scrapbook Kits blog. You will find a new link on my side bar that will take you there anytime you want to visit.
I have made some additional updates today on my blog. You will find links on my sidebar for the April Class Kit to Go – it features the Great Friend stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I added a link to my Stampin’ Up! Website to join my Stampin’ Up! team. You can view several videos about Stampin’ Up! and information about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I would love to have you as part of my team so call me and we can get together so I can answer any of your questions. Right now Stampin’ Up! has an Easy Three Payment Plan if you join by the end of the month – paperwork has to be mailed in to take part of this offer – so don’t delay if this is something that interests you.
I have also made updates to my list of Retired Stamp Sets for sale and added a few accessory items as well. And as I mentioned already a new link to the Wow Scrapbook Kits blog is now on my sidebar too.
I’m preparing my blog for the BLOG TOUR that starts tomorrow. Be sure to come back and join me as we travel around the country and see the wonderful art work from demonstrators featuring the items in the Occasions Mini Catalog. If you place an order of $40 or more from the Occasions Mini Catalog you will get to choose one FREE item from the Under $10 page in the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book (page 208). This specials is good through the end of April and is available with Online Ordering too.
I’m going to wait and post new pictures of my birds on Tuesday after the Blog Tour is over. I checked the calendar yesterday and the Robins are probably going to be the first to leave the nest. I can see the babies stretching their wings and they are getting pretty big. I would expect them to leave sometime this week. The others maybe next weekend or the week after. I’ll keep my eyes on them.
I’ll see you all tomorrow on the BLOG TOUR.
