May 30, 2012 | Cards, Pocket Silhouettes, Retired List, Thank You |

These projects that I’m showing you this week are from classes that I have had this month and some including this one will also be in my Card Maker’s Club class which is today (Wednesday). I really like the softness of this card – the idea came from one I saw on Pinterest (so many great ideas not just for crafts but recipes too).
The base of the card is Sahara Sand and then the four panels on top are Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray. Each one is stamped in VersaMark ink with one of the flower images in the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set – this one is on the retiring list. I sponged all the panels and the strip across the front with Sahara Sand ink. There are two brads on the left and the sentiment on the right side of the strip. I made this a thank you card but it would work for a sympathy card too.
I also wanted to mention that I have a New Catalog Open House on Sunday! Come see the new In-Colors and try out the new ink pads. I have catalogs, Make-n-takes, snacks and more. Bring a friend and come see me. Details are on my website.
I’ll be back later –

Apr 30, 2012 | Cards, Flight of the Butterfly, Pocket Silhouettes, Retired List, Thank You |
It’s time to bring back some creations with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and the coordinating punch. Both are on the Retiring list – and I really love butterflies so I hate to see them go. Two cards for my class tonight have butterflies on them and I seem to use them all the time. These are some old posts from my blog over the past few years. I also included Butterfly prints which coordinates with the same punch. And some other retiring products on these cards – the Eyelet border punch, Pocket Silhouettes stamp set, and Funky Four. I know it’s a big list and lots of good stuff is on it that we won’t be able to order again – so hurry before you favorites are gone.

Have a nice day!

Oct 19, 2011 | Big Shot, Flight of the Butterfly, Pocket Silhouettes, Stampin' Up! Convention |
I wasn’t finished sharing my little bat ideas that I showed at the Birmingham Regional. I had a bunch. This is the Get Well bag. Inside is a pack of tissues and a tea bag.
The bag is stamped – the bottom with Pocket Silhouettes and Flight of the Butterfly. White Gel pen doodles all around. And a tag from Word Play. I used tempting Turquoise and Old Olive for my colors. And I did add rhinestones on the “i” and on the one butterfly.
Really a quick project. So it is a quick post. Directions for how to make the bag were posted last week – Click Here.
That’s all for today… have a good one.

Aug 9, 2011 | Big Shot, Pocket Silhouettes, UDI Color Challenge |
Yep – it is Tuesday and time for an new color challenge with the Utah Diva’s. Here is the inspiration picture for this week – another three color combination –

Just three colors – Basic Black, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzazz and I decide to add a neutral – Whisper White. I wanted to do something besides a card this week and decided to try a cute little project that I saw at convention. I didn’t actually get to see the demo of it because it was in one of the classes that I didn’t take. We only have so many time slots for classes and there were lots to choose from. A couple of my roommates took the class and they took pictures. Before we left convention I copied the pictures from Michele, Cindy and Dawn to my laptop. I have copied all of our pictures on to a DVD for each of us to have. Now I just need to mail them out. Anyway the project was in their pictures and on the resource files that we have from convention. It is the cutest box – here is my version.
And it is actually easy to make! It is one of our Big Shot dies. Can you guess which one?
It is the Mini Milk Carton die – actually two of them put together to make a six sided box. I tied the tops closed with a piece of Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding ribbon (love that stuff). On each of the six sides I added a panel of Whisper White card stock that was stamped with the image from Pocket Silhouettes – it is stamped multiple times in Pear Pizzazz ink. The edges are also sponged with Pear Pizzazz ink. On the front panel I added “for you” stamped in Always Artichoke ink. And a stamped cut out butterfly – also Always Artichoke ink. These are both from the Clearly For You stamp set. I did “paint” the butterfly with Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent ink. So the butterfly has some shimmer and it made the wings curl up more too. It really turned out cute!

More with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Punch…
Traditionally I don’t use a lot of the purples in my stamping projects – I don’t really know why. In fact when I was little I loved purple – my bedroom had wallpaper with a floral print in purple and brown and I had a canopy bed and it was all decked out in purple. I must have liked purple at some point in time. But a while back when I did an inventory of my ink and card stock the ones that were missing – were all shades of purple. But I have rediscovered Perfect Plum so you may start seeing more projects with some purple.
This card came from a card I saw on Heather Summers blog. Her’s was a big square card and I think she got the idea from someone else. These were the colors that she used and they really were pretty together – Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, and Baja Breeze. I wanted a card that would fit in the open-ended envelopes and ended up with this creation.
I used Pocket Silhouettes to create the greenery. The “thanks so much” is the new hostess set in the Summer Mini Catalog called Swirls & Curls Verses. Then I punched out flowers with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Punch and layered the pieces and added some details.
flower 1 is Perfect Plum base, Certainly Celery for the middle and Baja Breeze for the top with a Certainly Celery brad in the center.
flower 2 is Certainly Celery base that has been cut in between the petals, the center is the Bitty Punch circle that was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder
flower 3 is a Baja Breeze base that was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, the top is Perfect Plum and then a Bitty Button threaded with White Bakers Twine for the center.
Have a nice day – we are expecting rain and storms this afternoon/evening – ugh – hopefully no tornados.

Here’s what you get when you cross Nature Walk and Pocket Silhouettes stamp sets:
Lots of pretty spring tags for my customer orders!

This could be called a SIP project – Stamps, Ink and Paper is all you need to make this into a pretty card. I added the hemp twine so I could use them as tags. They turned out so pretty. These are 3×3 pieces of Natural White card stock. On the bottom I stamped the image from Pocket Silhouettes in Old Olive multiple times across the bottom – stamp more than once before reinking and it gives you the variations in shading. I also used a Stampin’ Sponge to sponge Old Olive ink all around the bottom edge. Around the top I sponged with Marina Mist ink to make it look like the sky, leaving spots white to look like clouds. Then I added the bee from Nature Walk – he is colored in with a So Saffron Stampin’ Write marker. The “thanks so much” is also in the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.
They were quick to make and I think very pretty – I really like how the sponging turned out and I think I need to do this on a full sized card. When I do I’ll post it too. Have a great spring day!
