Nov 28, 2019 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Winter Gifts – a set with tags to add to your holiday gifts.

One of the nice things about Paper Pumpkin is that its portable. As I was headed out of town for Thanksgiving I packed up my Paper Pumpkin kit and grabbed a pack of notecards and envelopes. During some downtime on Wednesday I pulled everything out and did a little bit of crafting. I made a few quick notecards using the stamps, ink and extra components from both the October and November paper pumpkin kits.
Note Card Trio
With limited supplies on hand I used the ink spots and stamp sets from the last two Paper Pumpkin kits. I plan to make all my tags so I just set aside some of the extra bits and used them on these notecards.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock –Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes
- Winter Woods October Paper Pumpkin Kit – ink & stamps
These were made with very limited supplies with me on our family trip for Thanksgiving.
The Blog Hop Continues
To continue through go and click on the next blog in the list below. Everything worked correctly last month – so I’m crossing my fingers that it will work again this time.
Don’t forget you have until the 10th of the month to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and get that month’s kit.
Note: for December Kit the sign up period still ends on Dec. 10th but the shipping will be delayed by a few days. It’s going to be a great kit for all occasions with a stamp set full of sentiments.
Specials list here. Sign up by the 10th – go here.

Nov 20, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, Boxes, Designer Series Paper |
In the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog you may have noticed the beautiful traditional Christmas Cracker boxes on page 30 & 31. These are made with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper. I made some of these and then decided that I wanted a smaller version for an event that my team would be hosting this month. Our event was this past Friday and was a success. So I wanted to share my project with you. I’m going to share with you both sizes today and a third variation. On Monday, Nov. 18th I filmed a FB Live showing how to make all three and some little 3D ornaments. You can see that video HERE.

So let’s start with the large size that’s shown in the catalog. You’ll want to cut a piece of paper to 8-3/4″ x 9″ – so you will want to choose something that comes in 12×12 size for these large ones. My photo uses the Brightly Gleaming Specialty paper and also the Christmastime is Here Specialty paper. On the short side (that’s the 8-3/4″ side) you will score at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″, and 7″. Then you will use the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack to punch at every fold – push the punch all the way in from the side of the paper lining up the center of the punch on the fold. Glue the end flaps together to make a 4 sided tube and then tie the ends shut with ribbon.
Supply List
- #150429 Brightly Gleaming Specialty Paper
- #150394 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon
- #149590 3/8″ Denim Ribbon
- #150647 Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack
- #152154 Christmastime is Here Specialty Paper
- #152156 Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon
- #152392 Paper Trimmer
So now let me show you the smaller version that I made. I wanted to make it out of a 6×6 piece of paper so that I could use the pretty Feels Like Frost Paper Specialty paper. I ended up with a smaller three sided version. These are a nice size for table favors – you could even add names and use them as place cards. The silver ones would work for New Years or even a wedding.

I started with the 6×6 piece of Feels Like Frost Specialty paper. On one side you will score at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, and 5-1/4″. Now turn to the other side and score at 1-1/4″ and 4-3/4″. Then you will use the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack to punch at every fold along the two score lines. You’ll only slide the punch in a small amount. Watch the video and you can see what I mean – also look at the photo below. Glue the end flaps together so the small end is on the inside of the large end to make a 3 sided tube and then tie the ends shut with ribbon.

Supply List
- #150444 Feels Like Frost Specialty Paper
- #144213 3/8″ Silver Metallic-edge Ribbon
- #150647 Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack
- #152392 Paper Trimmer
- #132178 Silver Foil
- #124262 White Baker’s Twine
- #150457 Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Then I wanted to make another version of this small one. For this one I wanted to make one end flat so it would stand up. You’ll do everything the same except on the second side score at 5-1/4″ instead of the 4-3/4″ and you won’t punch on that side. Instead you will snip them and then trim the angles on each side. The video will show you how.

Sep 17, 2019 | Cards, Masculine, Scrapbook Pages, Stamper's Club |
So I started writing this post way back in July! It was shortly after returning from the Incentive trip to Greece. But as you can see I never finished it and never posted it. Life happens. When we got back I was trying to spend as much time as I could with my son knowing that he would be leaving the country. So I let some things slide – like my blog. He left last week on Monday. He has been gone for 1 week now and I need to get my butt in gear and get back on track. So here we go…..
I have a scrapbook page and cards to share with you using the Come Sail Away Suite. I shared these on a Facebook Live video a while ago and you can see that here.

The left page of this two page layout was what my Stamp Club made for one of their projects back in July. And the right hand page was the one I added as part of my Facebook Live video. The bottom left corner is actually a card idea that I created for a swap and then decided that I wanted to base a scrapbook page on it.
Fun Fact: in case you didn’t know I grew up sailing. That was my sport from about 10 years old until I went to college. My dad and brother are sailors and my mom used to sail too. I grew up living in a sailing club on the lake. At that time there weren’t very many girls that were sailing. I always say that I grew up in a boys world and had to join Stampin’ Up! to find some girls to hang out with.
Supply List
- #147003 Neutrals 12×12 card stock
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #149481 Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
- #151006 Sailing Home Bundle = Sailing Home Stamp Set + Smooth Sailing Dies
- #149483 Baker’s Twine
- #149482 Sail Away Trinkets
- #147110 Night of Navy Ink
- #147117 Sahara Sand Ink
Since not everyone in my stamp club is a scrapbooker I also give them the option to create two cards instead of the one scrapbook page. I utilize the same supplies. Here are the two cards from this layout.

The card on the left was the one I made for my swap card and that is the one that inspired the scrapbook page. You should be able to see where the second card is taken from the scrapbook page too. And you could also use that bottom right corner on the second page to create a card layout. I hope you like these ideas.
