Mar 13, 2012 | My Digital Studio, Scrapbook Pages |
While I did find my camera (in my craft room) – I have not had a chance to take pictures of projects to post on my blog. So I have more My Digital Studio scrapbook pages to show you. Some of these digital layouts I want to try as traditional layout too. You may find some in my upcoming scrapbook classes. On to the page I’m showing you today -another layout from Heather’s online class.
For this layout I actually started with a template of an 8×8 page – from the Sweet Pea Kit (it had all the circles). I converted it to 12×12 and then imported it into the album that I’m working in now which is 12×12. I went through and replaced all the Designer Paper using the Sweet Details Designer Paper. I used the color match option for the stamps and text.
These are silly pictures we took on my birthday last year. Some self-portraits of me and all the boys and I tried to get the dogs in there too. As you can see I’m not that good at the self-portrait thing. Greg laughs at me and says I’m aiming in the wrong place.
I guess I need to use my iphone in the future since it has that little feature that lets you turn the viewer around so you can see yourself.
Have fun!

Yeah for Sale-a-Bration orders!
Hostesses during Sale-A-Bration get the cutest shopping bag –
for my hostesses I have been putting their orders in the shopping bag and then adding this cute Thank You tag. All the rest of the customers orders also get a Thank You tag.
These tags were made using My Digital Studio and it is actually a tag template that is included in the 2011-2013 In-Color Pack (item #127339).
I had these printed through the Stampin’ Up! Print service and then when I got them home I dressed them up a bit. I added the Calypso Coral ribbon that comes in the Sale-A-Bration pack and finished them by adding Rhinestones to the centers of the flowers.

They match nicely to the Sale-A-Bration Hostess shopping bags.
Contact me today to schedule your workshop or place a qualifying order so you can get one of these cute bags. But hurry this offer ends at the end of March!
This week is my Hands-On Class – you can RSVP from my events calendar – we will be making Easter and spring projects and I will email out a reminder later today. I hope to see you there!

Another My Digital Studio page to share. Again the layout is from Heather’s class. Good news is I found my camera! So now I can take pictures of the cards and other projects I have been making – yeah! Then I’ll be able to share them with you.
This is titled “Lenkeit Family Beginings” and the photo is my parents with me and my brother. I’m not sure I even spelled that right – begin +ing +s – it seems like it should be right, but it doesn’t really look right – I guess I have to look it up and then fix my layout if it is wrong – I’ll add that to the list.
Anyway this was August 1968 and the start of our little family. Of course back then the pictures weren’t digital so this was an old photo that I had scanned in for something else and found it on my computer one day when I was looking through picture files. Even back then the yellow and gray was a popular combination.
This weekend is all about My Digital Studio – there will be 10 demonstrators at my house on Saturday and we are having and MDS day – making some fun projects and learning new tips and tricks. Then Saturday night is my real downline meeting where a few more people will join us for business tips and Make & Takes. It will be a fun and exciting day I can’t wait. Today is prep-day for all of that. Cindy will be here for most of the day so we can get everything ready.
And the advanced concert band (Ryan’s band) performed last night at the Large Group Performance Exhibition (its called something like that) and they got all superior ratings from all the judges! Yeah! And Ryan had a small solo. The band director was very pleased. I hate that I missed it.
Bye for now! Have a great weekend!

This is another layout from Heather’s MDS class. This is “The many faces of Tyler” – my boys don’t want me to take their picture. I tend to get turned heads, something in front of the face, eyes closed, goofy looks and everything in between. Tyler is the worst of the three and I always tell him one day I’m going to create a scrapbook page with those crazy pictures.
Well that day has come and I added some of those silly pictures of Tyler – this was Easter last year and I wanted some pictures of the boys. Putting something in front of his face, puffy chest with a funky face, wide open mouth!
I thought the silly frogs suited the layout and all the bright papers. The little pennant punch is lots of fun to use to make banners!
On another subject – I thought I’d give you a quick update on my birds – for those that enjoy the bird posts during the spring time. I am starting to see activity in the yard. Today I noticed the chick-a-dees active around one of the houses and when I peeked in – they are starting to build a nest. When I find my camera I’ll get a picture. And exciting news – the red-bellied woodpecker was inside the woodpecker house today! The other times I’ve seen him (I think it is the male) was just looking in but today he was inside – I think that’s a good sign – now to keep an eye out for his mate and hope that she lays some eggs inside. I also saw a Tufted Titmouse looking in one of the houses yesterday (the same one they used last year) – so hopefully they will be back. And I think the bluebirds came by the feeders not sure if they checked out any of the houses this time though. I’m excited for the birds to begin nesting again – we’ll see how many babies we have this year!

Mar 7, 2012 | Big Shot, Cards, Occasions Mini 2012, Sale-A-Bration 2012, Thank You |
I’m back – so sorry for being MIA for a while. I had a super busy weekend – I spent all day Saturday (literally all day – left at 7:30 am and got back at 11:00 pm) at the Bascomb UMC Scrapbook Crop. What a fun day! The days leading up to that I was frantically getting ready, printing flyers, packing scrapbook layouts, die-cutting hearts, butterflies, buttons and more for goody bags, prepping a make&take and packing up everything for my booth. The crop was a blast and I met so many nice ladies! I can’t believe I have never been to a crop before – they were so right about having more stuff than you had room for – even I needed more table space and I had 2 6foot tables for all my stuff. But one table was my M&T station which was a lot of fun. I hope to see many of those ladies at my classes and then again in October at the next crop.
So after that my parents came on Sunday to spend the night so I could spend time with them for my birthday. Kyle and Tyler both came home from college too and we had my birthday dinner Sunday night. That was a good thing because Monday (my actual birthday) was not a good day. I was sick and spent most of the day horizontal – so my parents went on home and I slept most of the day and missed my whole birthday. Yesterday I was up and about but not 100% – so I still ate very little but I was able to get back to work. I think I lost weight on Monday since it had to be an almost zero calorie day – I drank water, ate 4 saltine crackers and had some gatorade. Greg brought flowers home that evening and my dad brought me an orchid before they left to head back home. We make up our lunch and dinner plans later. Does this mean I didn’t really get a year older if I slept through my birthday?
Ok – sorry for the rambling but I wanted to let you know why I was gone for so long….
And I have one other issue – I put my camera in a safe place and now I can’t find it. So until then my pictures are from my iphone – so this one isn’t that great. This card uses both Sale-A-Bration and Occasions Mini Catalog products.

The main image is Apothecary Art which coordinates perfectly with the new Label Collection Framelits. I really love the framelits and can’t wait to see what new designs they have in our next catalog (coming June 1st). I stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock first. Then use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to add the words in the banner section – I used Soft Suede ink by the way. I find it easier to color first – I used my Stampin’ Write Markers – Blushing Bride and Certainly Celery – then cut it with the Big Shot and the Label – and sponge the edges. I cut a Blushing Bride layer in the label that was one size larger – and sponge the edges of it too.
On the base of the card I stamped the Fresh Vintage stamp set which is one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp set choices – it is very subtle – Soft Suede ink on the Soft Suede card stock. I used Very Vanilla Seam Binding tied around the card base – tied in a knot. Attach the layered labels over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish – cut some of the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit – sponge those too – and add a couple of basic pearls.
The idea for this card came from the box that I created in February – I just decided to turned that idea into a card – here is that post.
I hope I didn’t bore you today with rambling – I wish I was a better writer – but I’m not sorry. I will probably be posting some more MDS projects since I don’t need my camera for those pictures. Have a great day!
