Aug 31, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Washi Tape |
I wasn’t sure what to call this one – but it’s kind of like you are making designer paper using the Washi Tape. This card idea came from a swap I received at Convention from Connie Collins one of the Artisan Design team members.

This is how I made my card:
- To create the “paper” you need a piece of Whisper White card stock and you cover it with strips of Washi Tape. This time the tape is from Gingham Garden and from the Christmas tape – I believe it is called Season of Style – but I need to check.
- Next use the Big Shot and the Hearts Framelits to cut out a heart to make a window. Save the heart – we are using that on another card.
- Tie a piece of Linen Thread and a small Old Olive button around the piece.
- To add the ruffled edge – I cut a doily in half and then cut away the solid center part of each half. I add a strip of snail adhesive to the back of the washi paper piece. Ruffle up the strips of the doily and stick it to the adhesive to create the ruffle on the side.
- That piece was then layered on another piece of Whisper White using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Inside the window I stamped the greeting and then added a little punched heart (Red Glimmer paper and the Owl punch).
- The card base is Cherry Cobbler and then a piece of Daffodil Delight below the white.
This is a fun and pretty card and I love the ruffled doily edge on it! Thanks Connie for sharing this card with me. That was project #8 – but there’s more we have to use that little heart we cut out for something too.

Aug 30, 2013 | Cards, Halloween, Holiday Catalog 2013, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat, Washi Tape |
Have you seen the new Witches’ Brew Washi Tape in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog? It’s a fun collection. This is another quick and easy Washi tape note card –

For this one the Washi Tape is overlapped on the note card and then I stamped directly on the tape with Black StazOn ink – the little “happy halloween” from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I also stamped in once above the tape too.
I added a tiny Pumpkin Pie button tied with some Linen Thread.
To seal the envelope I think the skull Washi Tape would be really fun to use. Really a very quick an easy card. That makes project #7 from my Washi Tape class – and yes there are still more to come!

I love this cute note card – I found the idea on Pinterest from a demonstrator in Germany. I changed it slightly by making a note card and eliminating some of the layers that she used on her full card. This is my version.

The Gingham Garden Washi tape is layered in the background on the card – the pieces are overlapped with each other. Here is how you make the cute little heart accent piece –
- first punch a small heart in Crumb Cake card stock
- now line the Artisan Label punch up so the spot where you punched out the heart is in the center.
- punch another Artisan Label from Melon Mambo card stock
- Layer them with little bits of Stampin’ Dimensional in between
- cut a piece of Linen Thread and just loop it around using some Snail Adhesive to attach to the back of the Artisan Punched piece
- attach the label with Stampin’ Dimensional to the front of the card
- finish by adding a tiny pearl and rhinestone to the label
Let’s see that makes project #6 I think. And I’m still not done – so be sure to come back for more Washi Tape ideas from my class.

Aug 28, 2013 | Washi Tape |
One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! products is the color coordination! And this card shows how well the Washi Tape and card stock colors coordinate to make a cute and simple card.

I used the Daffodil Delight Gingham Washi Tape from the Gingham Garden collection – with a Daffodil Delight punched heart.
The Pumpkin Pie Chevron Washi Tape from the Witches Brew collection – with a Pumpkin Pie punched heart.
And the Basic Gray stripe Washi Tape from the Epic Day This & That collection – with a Basic Gray punched heart.
Project #5 from my Washi Tape class. This is really a quick card using the Notecards & envelopes – nothing to cut or measure and you can punch the hearts from scraps. The Washi Tape tears easily giving you the rough edges. The hardest part is tying the ribbon in a knot and stamping words straight! And a quick tip – if you do it like I did and mess up the words – stamp them again on a scrap of Whisper White card stock – trim it out – and glue it on top of the messed up words. Yep I did that.

Aug 26, 2013 | Cards, gift card, Washi Tape |
I have lot’s of Washi Tape ideas to share with you – it doesn’t take long to make some cute cards. Today’s project are these adorable Mini Note Cards – which happen to be the perfect size for a gift card.
This first one uses the Gingham Garden and Season of Style Designer Washi Tape. Each pack comes with three different designs.
This one uses the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape. And this one is turns out to be the perfect match to a Home Depot gift card!
It’s a little hard to tell just how big these are by looking at the photos and you may wonder how they are made. It’s really super quick an easy – start with one of the 5″ x 3-1/2″ Note cards and the matching envelope. These come together ready to use in packs of 20 – page 162 in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.
Cut the note card in half and the envelope in half! This gives you mini notecards and envelopes. To seal the side of the envelope use a piece of Washi tape!

That makes cards 1 & 2 from the Wild about Washi class I had earlier this month. This idea came from Stampin’ Up! – just a cute idea.
I’m trying to get out a reminder email for classes this week – having some technical issues this morning. Hopefully it will be resolved by the end of the day.
