Skeleton Smore’s Treat

Last weekend’s retreat was so much fun!  We all had a great time.  Throughout the weekend I had little surprises for everyone.  If you go to a Stampin’ Up! incentive event you get what they call “pillow gifts”.  These are gifts that Stampin’ Up! leaves usually on your bed/pillow in the hotel room during the event.  I wanted to do the same thing during the retreat but not everyone had a pillow here – some people went home every night.  So the “pillow” gifts were left on everyone’s crafting spot.  I tried to sneak down and leave the little surprises when no one was around.

This was the one from Friday night –

Friday night treat – skeleton Smore’s

Friday night we planned to have a fire in the fire pit so I thought the perfect surprise would be Smore’s related and I saw this idea on Pinterest some time ago and always wanted to make something like this.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Gusseted Cello bags that were in last years Holiday catalog and then on the clearance rack – not sure if they are still there or not.  Inside the bag I have this – listed from bottom to the top

  • bottom layer – graham crackers – 4 squares
  • chocolate – 1/2 standard size bar
  • Jumbo pumpkin shaped marshmallow – it is on its side
  • yogurt covered pretzels – 5
  • regular marshmallow – I used an edible marker to draw the face

I tied the bag shut with some Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon (it was in my retired stash).

I also added a Skeleton twist tie – made with the Witches Brew Washi Tape – I just covered an existing white twist tie with the Washi Tape (I’ve also covered floral wire to make twist ties – see this post).

Breaking news!!!  THANK YOU THURSDAY special from Stampin’ Up! – today Thursday Oct, 3, 2013 only – Washi Tape is on sale – order in my online store.

To finish the treat I made a little tag using the Halloween Bash stamp set.  I stamped “eat if you dare” in Black ink and cut wit the label framelit.  I used a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to color the white edge outside the image.

dare-tagI tied the tag on and my skeleton treats were all done!

Each bag had enough to make two smore’s.

Enjoy!

Halloween Washi Tape

Have you seen the new Witches’ Brew Washi Tape in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog?  It’s a fun collection.  This is another quick and easy Washi tape note card –

halloween-washi-tape

For this one the Washi Tape is overlapped on the note card and then I stamped directly on the tape with Black StazOn ink – the little “happy halloween” from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also stamped in once above the tape too.

I added a tiny Pumpkin Pie button tied with some Linen Thread.

To seal the envelope I think the skull Washi Tape would be really fun to use.  Really a very quick an easy card.  That makes project #7 from my Washi Tape class – and yes there are still more to come!

You can shop online  here at my website Online Store.

I’m extending the registration deadline for the retreat until after the holiday weekend – Registrations due August 31st  September 3rd for the September 27th – 29th – Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat

Join us at Monika’s House September 27 – 29, 2013.  The fun starts on Friday and lasts until Sunday.  We have Make & Take projects planned as part of the retreat – everyone will receive a Goody Bag with supplies and extras.  There are optional projects that you can add.  And bring whatever create projects you would like to work on.  You will have table space set up for the whole weekend – so bring your scrapbooking, card making, knitting, laptop for My Digital Studio, bring your sewing machine if you want to sew – the choice is yours.

We plan to feed you and pamper you with little surprises throughout the weekend!  Games & Prizes too!

I have some space in my house if you want to spend the night here instead of going home or there is a hotel one exit south just a few minutes away..  Earliest to register gets first choice on where they sleep – I have a couple of Queen beds upstairs, a queen and single sleeper sofa in the basement, some sofa space, and some air beds for the floor.   Or stay as late as you want in the evening – go sleep at home and come back in the morning!

We will send out a schedule and list of what you need to bring in early September.  A non-refundable deposit of $25 is due with your registration form by August 30th – this holds your spot.  We will be ordering supplies after the deposits are received.  The remainder of the money is due by September 15th.

Truly Grateful & envelope liners

truly-gratefulI’d like to introduce some new products from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog –

  • Truly Grateful stamp set
  • Sweater Weather Designer Series paper
  • Witches’ Brew Designer Washi tape
  • Envelope Liners Framelits Dies

I used all four products on this note card that we made for Stamper’s Club this month.  The Envelope Liners Framelits dies include three sizes to line the envelopes that we sell in our catalog – the little square envelopes, the note card envelopes and the medium sized envelopes.  You use these with your Big Shot and standard cutting pads.

truly-grateful-washiOn this card we put the Washi tape on the card and then stamped “Truly Grateful” directly on the tape.  If you want to learn more fun ways to use Washi tape be sure to come to my class this Friday, August 16th – Wild about Washi!  We will be having fun making a variety of cards using Washi tape in different ways.  The class is offered twice on Friday – at 10:00 am and at 7:00 pm – go HERE to rsvp on my website for the class you want to attend.
