Feb 17, 2015 | Occasions Catalog 2015, Sale-A-Bration 2015, Stamper's Club |
I’m guessing many people are ready for spring. I know I am so let’s think spring for a while.
I combined two new products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog with the Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog to create a cut spring feeling Berry Basket.
The new Berry Basket Die is so cute and easy to put together. You need to cut the card stock twice – I used Crumb Cake for this basket and the scalloped strip for the edge. The plain strip I used for the handle. The scalloped edge makes it easy to line the sides up evenly when you staple everything together.
For my basket I decided to add a liner using the Gold Soiree Designer Series Specialty paper. I cut two pieces of the main portion of the basket. Each one was glued to the inside of the Crumb Cake basket pieces. If you don’t want to see staples on the inside of the basket then don’t adhere the designer paper to the inside edges until after you staple the scalloped band around the edges.
To decorate my berry basket I added die cut butterflies! I love the new Butterflies Thinlits Dies. I cut two for the basket – the large butterfly is Gold Foil card stock and the medium butterfly is Calypso Coral card stock. When I cut mine I always use a piece of wax paper between my card stock and the die to help it release. The butterflies are stapled on to the handle. I used a Calypso Coral button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack – it’s free during Sale-A-Bration.
My Stamper’s Club Members got to make this basket at our February meeting and then my team members got to make it at my February PAWS team meeting. Everyone had different prints from the Gold Soiree Designer Paper for their liners. I hope this cute project makes you thing of spring!

Feb 13, 2015 | Occasions Catalog 2015, Valentine's Day |
This clean and simple card idea was one that I saw somewhere by another demo. I used Whisper White card bases which makes this really quick since I didn’t have to cut and score to get my card started.
I cut a white layer to stamp on with the hearts in Real Red ink. The hearts are from the Hello Life stamp set. A strip of Vellum has the cursive LOVE stamped on it. Leave the strip long so you can tuck it around behind the layer and glue it to the back. Then put a glue dot on the other end and cover it with the little heart punch. Add a rhinestone to finish.
Something just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Feb 10, 2015 | Occasions Mini 2015, Punch Art, Valentine's Day |
I love this cute punch art owl that I found online and decided to add him to a Valentine card for my class last month. Every month I have a class at the local university and their mascot is an owl so it was a perfect card for them too.

I used the You Plus Me Bundle – which includes the Stamp set and the Designer Paper Stack. Plus the new Happy Hearts Embossing folder. Be sure to do your stamping before you emboss so it will be flat on your card.
The owl is made with punches – here is a list:
- body – Real Red – 2-1/2″ circle punch
- to make the ears at the top punch out a partial 1″ circle
- belly – Stacked with Love Designer Paper stack – 2-1/3″ circle punch – stick it back into the punch and punch a second time to create a football shape
- eyes – Whisper White – 1″ circle punch and Basic Black – 1/2″ circle punch
- nose – Calypso Coral – Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack Heart
- feet – Calypso Coral – Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack Heart
- heart – Real Red – Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack Heart
The eyes on the owl and the heart are both popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and then the whole owl is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front of the card.
A fun cute valentine card!

Feb 9, 2015 | class, Occasions Catalog 2015, Tags, Valentine's Day |
In January I had my Valentine’s Day class and here is a look at the projects we made –
Everyone had a fun time making all these sweet treats and cards for those that they love.
Here is a closer look at the the little LOVE pillow box.
I made a bunch of the these for a treat wrapper swap at the Stampin’ Up! leadership conference too. The plastic pillow box tubes were some that I ordered online. The candy that I put inside wasn’t quite the color that I wanted so I had to come up with an idea on how to “hide” it. The solution was to cut two pieces of card stock to fit in either side of the tube and emboss them with the new Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I slid those inside the pillow box and filled it with the candy. I wanted to add a fun tag and I really thought that the tags that came with the November Paper Pumpkin Kit were different and fun and I knew I could create a Valentine version. Here is a closer look at the tag –

- The tag is 2 pieces – the bottom piece is Whisper White card stock and the top piece is Strawberry Slush.
- Both are punched with the Angled Tag Topper punch – but since they are skinnier than 2″ – they are actually punched twice – once on each side creating 2 holes in the top.
- On the white tag I added a piece of Washi Tape from the Sweet Sadie Collection – its Pistachio Pudding with little white hearts.
- On the Strawberry Slush tag I used the Little Letter Framelits to cut out the word LOVE.
- Then its’ stamped with the little scattered hearts from the You Plus Me stamp set.
- I added little punched Pistachio Pudding heart.
- The tag is tied on to the pillow box with Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine.
I hope you like this little project. Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly.
