This wasn’t what I planned to share with you today. But we recently upgraded our internet service and yesterday Greg installed a new router and I guess everything isn’t quite right because I can’t get to the external drive from my laptop and that’s where all my pictures and files are! I’m waiting on him to get home from work so I can get connected to the drive again. Technology is never easy is it?
Even our new thermostats using our network and this morning they had a network error – I was trying to figure out how to turn up the heat. I was able to do that finally but I don’t think the network connection is there so I can’t make changes from my iphone – which is pretty cool. Technology is cool but not always easy!
So instead I’m going to share a video from Stampin’ Up! It shows you the Dip-Dye Technique. Enjoy!
Have you seen the stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure called See Ya Later? It is one that you can get FREE! And it is so much fun. I’ve made several cards with it. Here is one similar to the one shown in the brochure.
We made this in my Sale-A-Bration class and then I mailed it to Kyle. Since Kyle moved to CA I have been shipping some of his things out to him so I decided to include a card or treat or something in each box. So this card went along in one of the boxes – I thought it was very appropriate – See ya Later Alligator – Already Miss you!
That makes me think of when Kyle was little we would say “Kyle, Kyle, Crocodile”. I haven’t said that in a long time. It’s probably not appropriate to say to a 22 year old.
I created this scrapbook layout several month ago. It’s based on a page layout in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I used the I Am Me Product Suite – it’s one of my favorites in the catalog.
I still need to add pictures. In my scrapbook class I make up my samples usually without pictures. Often the layouts could be used for different things and I don’t want to get anyone “trapped” into what the layout needs to be. They should be able to use it for what they have. For this one I had a family vacation in mind.
The left page of the layout is like the one in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. Just add photos (rounding the corners) on the empty white rectangles. Plus add a small photo under the washi tape by the luggage. Add journaling down by the film strip. After I add my photos I’ll probably add a title with where we went and the dates.
This is the right side page created to match the one on the left. Add more photos and maybe a few more journaling notes and you are all done. Here is a list of the supplies used:
Basic Gray 12″ x 12″ card stock
Whisper White card stock
I Am Me Designer Series paper
Filmstrip stamp
Designer Buttons – Subtles
Chevron Ribbon – Calypso Coral
Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape
Around the World Stamp set
Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine
Corner Rounder punch (or the Envelope Punch Board)
Circle punches
Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp set
Pool Party, Real Red card stock
Pool Party, Real Red, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, So Saffron classic ink
Jumbo Rhinestones
Friday I have another scrapbook class. I have a winter themed page perfect for all the snow pictures during out storms we recently had. And the second layout I have a few things in mind – just need to make my final decisions.

Gift bags are easy to make with Stampin’ Up! products. Just buy plain white or kraft colored gift bags or various sizes and add a tag, decorate the front and insert your gift and some matching tissue. For this bag the tissue was cut with the Fringe Scissors to give it some interest. You could also stamp on your tissue paper.
This bag idea came from my friend Cindy – you can see her bag here. I used the same idea but with different colors. And I love her colored tissue paper but I didn’t have any to match my color scheme so I just used white.
Do you ever keep the rubber scraps that are left after you assemble your stamp set? I used to years ago when we just had the wood stamps – I never really did anything with it though. At one point in time we would cut it and use the foam like a dimensional. Now I save my rubber scrap for my clear mounted stamp sets – I attach it inside the case and then put the stamps back in place when I’m storing them. This helps me know if I’m missing any stamps out of the set. For this Starburst Sayings stamp set however I didn’t attach the rubber scrap inside my case. That’s because it has various sized circles which are perfect to use as a template. Cindy was clever enough to use the circles on her bag. Just go around them with your Stampin’ Write markers.
To create the tag –
I used a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper – cut it with the Banner Framelit to make a banner.
Used a 2″ strip of Basic Black card stock – punch with the Angled Tag Topper punch
Stamped the “Oh Happy Day” image – once in Bermuda Bay and cut it out with the Starburst Framelit and once with Crushed Curry and hand cut just the HAPPY. Attached these pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut a Melon Mambo piece of card stock with the arrow from the On Film Framelits and attached that to the top of the tag.
Add Bakers Twine through the tap topper and tie it to the handle of the bag.
Tie a piece of the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon around the handle of the bag.
I used this bag for my nephew’s birthday gift – the card I made for him was in these same colors.
