I LOVE this card!  Love, love this technique and just don’t use it enough.  It is so easy but is such a WOW when you see it – almost like magic….

It is the Emboss Resist technique.  This card is almost an exact copy of a card on the Stampin’ Connection site (for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators) posted by Shannon West.  I made really only two changes  – the sentiment on the card since I didn’t have the one that she used and I put my card on a Soft Suede card base, her card was the white card as the base.  Personally I don’t like to use the white or vanilla as my card base since it isn’t quite the same thickness as all the colored card stock.  But that is just a personal thing for me – other people use those for the base of the cards all the time.

The little strip on the card is a piece of Soft Suede card stock created with the Faux Suede technique (convenient that the card stock was named the same as the technique).    You can’t really see it in this photo but it has a soft texture to it.

The Vintage Vogue Stamp set works so nicely for this technique.  The largest flower is the part that is embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then it is sponged with the Soft Suede ink and that is what makes the flower pop out on the card.

Just a simple, elegant card that would work for many occasions.  This was one of the cards we made at Stamp Club.

Guess what? We have SNOW coming down.  I know….many people have had tons of snow and the snow we get would be  nothing but we don’t get snow very often and it is actually snowing right now – I can look out my craft room window and watch it.  The grass/trees/porch/roof and cars are starting to get covered.  The streets I think are just wet because the temps are still above freezing right now.  I’m waiting on school to get out so I can get the boys and have them home.  Hopefully in about an hour we will all be home.  Anyway it isn’t a big deal for most people but when you rarely get snow it makes it a big deal to us!  I need to get some pictures of our Georgia snow.

Have a great weekend!  Stop in tomorrow for my challenge card for the Create with Connie & Julie class.

Happy Stampin’ in the snow!
