Feb 13, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Thinlits, Valentine's Day, Washi Tape, Wedding |
Gold is a hot trend right now and this card pairs up a lot of gold elements with the Language of Love to create a Valentine’s or even a Wedding card.

I adapted an idea I found on Pinterest. Here are the elements on my card – some are the same as the one I found and some are different.
- Very Vanilla card base
- Very Vanilla layer – attach two strips of gold washi tape from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape – a TIP for you here – line up the card stock on your Grid Paper first and then use the lines as a guide to get the Washi Tape straight across your card stock
- Cut the XOXO from Gold Foil Sheet using the Circle Card Thinlits Die collection
- Cut a large heart out of Very Vanilla card stock using the Scallop Heart Embosslit (well I thought that was still current but I can’t seem to find it online in the store)
- Stamp the strip of hearts from the Language of Love stamp set using the GOLD Encore ink. Punch out each heart with the small heart punch.
- Create a double bow with Gold Baker’s Twine – I used a little magic bow maker that I found on Pinterest – I made a few so that I’d have them to use in class. I need to get a picture of it and share it with you later.
Here is another view so you can hopefully see the layering. All the hearts are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well as the layer on top of the base. The bow is attached with a mini glue dot. And I actually used the liquid glue for the foil.
Have a great day! I’m writing this early in case we get a lot of ice and lose power over the next couple of days.

Dec 9, 2013 | Christmas, Envelope Punch Board, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat, Washi Tape |
I made these cute Vellum Envelope Pouch as one of the surprises for the girls that attended the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat a couple of months ago.

I put Washi Tape inside for everyone but it would fit small candy treats for the holidays too. This is how I made it.
- I used the new Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board (love it) – if you take the item you want to put inside and measure that to get your size – then look on the Punch Board to see what size to cut your piece of Vellum Card Stock. Then place it on the board on the score measurement, punch, score, turn, etc. Until you get your envelope.
- Corner round the four corners and fold on the score lines.
- I used the Season of Style Washi Tape to hold the bottom of the envelope sides to the bottom.
- Cut a piece of the Cherry Cobbler ribbon, fold in half and attach to the top flap of the envelope – I actually stapled mine on.
- I used the Label Love stamp set and coordinating Artisan Punch to create the little label. stamp twice – once in Old Olive and once in Cherry Cobbler. Punch them out and then trim the Cherry Cobbler piece to be just the banner with the words. Use a stampin’ dimensional to attach to the Old Olive piece and then add to the pouch over the end of the ribbon.
- I added a little Rhinestone for a bit of bling.

It didn’t take long to make a dozen of these. It would make a cute little holiday treat for a teacher.

Dec 6, 2013 | Cards, Christmas, Holiday Catalog 2013, Washi Tape |
This card idea came from my friend Linda. She invited me to her house and we made two different cards and I combined the ideas and created this one. Here are the details:
- card base is Chocolate Chip
- Whisper White card layer – add three strips of Washi tape – if you need help getting them lined up straight use the Stampin’ Up! grid paper as a guide. Lay the card stock on the grid paper so it’s straight, then use the lines to put down the washi tape so its straight across

- The Greeting is stamped at the base in Chocolate Chip ink – it comes from the Warmth & Wonder Hostess set in the Holiday catalog.
- Stamp the reindeer (from the same set) on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch.
- Punch out a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle from Cherry Cobbler card stock.
- Layer the circle and scallop circle together. Pierce two holes – one on either side of the reindeer’s neck. Pull a piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through and tie in a knot. Adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional over the Washi Tape.
It’s a fun quick card. I hope you like it. Washi tape is so easy to use. This is the Season of Style Washi tape by the way.

Nov 25, 2013 | Big Shot, Christmas, Holiday Catalog 2013, Thinlits, Washi Tape |
I made this quick treat bag using the Chevron bags in the Stampin’ up! catalog. I decorated it for Christmas but you could just as easily decorate it for Thanksgiving if you need an idea this week.

This is what I used to make the Christmas version
- Chevron bag
- Season of Style Washi tape
- Expressions Thinlits dies & the Big Shot
- Cherry Cobbler ribbon
The ribbon is easy to add to the top of the bag. Fold the top over and punch two holes in it. Put each end of the ribbon through a hole from front to back. Now Pull the each end of the ribbon through the opposite hole back to the front. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Do you need something for Thanksgiving instead – make these changes –
- use Washi tape from Epic Day and Witches Brew packs
- cut out Thankful instead of Merry matching the color to the Washi Tape
- use a coordinating ribbon
Fill your bag with cookies or other treats – try a “blessing mix” for Thanksgiving.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your Thanksgiving prep is going along as you planned. So far so good for me. Turkey in the fridge, recipes planned and ingredients bought, house is clean (for now). I need to finish my table decorations and place settings – I’m using the Thankful Tablescape kit and mostly I have it done – just need to get it out on my tables mostly.

Oct 23, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Halloween, Holiday Catalog 2013, Washi Tape |
I figure I better get all my Halloween ideas posted really quick – Halloween is just around the corner!
This card featuring the Toil & Trouble stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog was one that I made last month for one of my card classes. The idea came from Melissa Davies.

Here is what I used on this card –
- Toil & Trouble stamp set
- Delightful Dozen stamp set
- Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie card stock
- Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie classic ink and Jet Black StazOn ink
- Witches Brew Washi Tape
- Whisper White Bakers Twine
- Circle Framelits Collection and the Big Shot Die Cut machine
I’ll look through my projects to see what other Halloween stuff I haven’t shared.

Oct 3, 2013 | Big Shot, Halloween, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat, Tags, Washi Tape |
Last weekend’s retreat was so much fun! We all had a great time. Throughout the weekend I had little surprises for everyone. If you go to a Stampin’ Up! incentive event you get what they call “pillow gifts”. These are gifts that Stampin’ Up! leaves usually on your bed/pillow in the hotel room during the event. I wanted to do the same thing during the retreat but not everyone had a pillow here – some people went home every night. So the “pillow” gifts were left on everyone’s crafting spot. I tried to sneak down and leave the little surprises when no one was around.
This was the one from Friday night –

Friday night treat – skeleton Smore’s
Friday night we planned to have a fire in the fire pit so I thought the perfect surprise would be Smore’s related and I saw this idea on Pinterest some time ago and always wanted to make something like this.
I used the Stampin’ Up! Gusseted Cello bags that were in last years Holiday catalog and then on the clearance rack – not sure if they are still there or not. Inside the bag I have this – listed from bottom to the top
- bottom layer – graham crackers – 4 squares
- chocolate – 1/2 standard size bar
- Jumbo pumpkin shaped marshmallow – it is on its side
- yogurt covered pretzels – 5
- regular marshmallow – I used an edible marker to draw the face
I tied the bag shut with some Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon (it was in my retired stash).
I also added a Skeleton twist tie – made with the Witches Brew Washi Tape – I just covered an existing white twist tie with the Washi Tape (I’ve also covered floral wire to make twist ties – see this post).
Breaking news!!! THANK YOU THURSDAY special from Stampin’ Up! – today Thursday Oct, 3, 2013 only – Washi Tape is on sale – order in my online store.
To finish the treat I made a little tag using the Halloween Bash stamp set. I stamped “eat if you dare” in Black ink and cut wit the label framelit. I used a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to color the white edge outside the image.
I tied the tag on and my skeleton treats were all done!
Each bag had enough to make two smore’s.
Enjoy!
