Stampin’ Up! Petal Cone & Kisses

These super cute fabric petal cones are full of fun decorated kisses!  I created these for a treat wrapper swap at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference.

petal-cone-treat-wrapper

The little kisses are so much fun to decorate and really quick and easy!

  1. stamp images from the Itty Bitties stamp set (Spring Catalog)
  2. punch out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (I used the circle)
  3. punch out 3/4″ circles from coordinating designer paper
  4. add to the bottom of the chocolate kiss with a mini glue dot!
  5. cuteness!

I choose the Itty Bitties images to color coordinate with the fabric that I used for each Petal Cone holder.  I made them in various colors using the fabric from the Essentials Designer Fabric pack – Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist.

petal-cone-treats

Here are a few tips on how I made the fabric petal cones –

  • I cut pieces of each of the fabrics to fit the petal cone die – I think they were about 6″x6″ or maybe 5-1/2″
  • I cut pieces of felt to be the same size
  • I cut pieces of the Fabric Adhesive roll to be just a bit smaller
  • Using an iron follow the directions for the Fabric Adhesive and create a “sandwich” – one layer of fabric, the fabric adhesive, a piece of felt, another fabric adhesive, the second layer of fabric – for each one I used the same color in the two different patterns.
  • Now take the fabric sandwich and cut the Petal Cone shape using the Big Shot machine – it should be the cutting plate, the die, the fabric sandwich, another cutting plate.
  • Cut away the little tab on the side
  • If you want to sew – and yes these are sewn – first sew around the two scallops.
  • Next fold down one of the scallops – that is going to be your front – and stitch it down so that it stays folded over
  • Now fold the two petals together to create the cone shape and stitch up the side to close it.
  • If you don’t want to sew then just use a strip of fabric adhesive to adhere the sides closed.

petal-cone-flowerTo decorate the front I cut a flower from the scraps that were left after cutting the petal cone.  I used the small flower from the Fun Flowers Die.  I stitched it onto the pouch using Whisper White Baker’s Twine and added a coordinating button to the center.

If you haven’t noticed these are the same little pouches that I made for the paper snips that I gave my downline for Christmas.  So  once the kisses have been eaten this can be used to store your paper snips.
Thanks to Cindy for coming over with her sewing machine so I could get these all together before I went to Leadership.  I know for sure I need a new sewing machine.  Now to figure out which one to buy – if anyone has any thoughts let me know.

Petite Purse Manicure Set

Let me show you how I turned the Petite Purse Big Shot die into a little manicure set.  It was one of the wrapper swaps that I took to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference this year.  And I gave them to my roommates as their little pillow gift too.

manicure-set

I actually had three different color combinations but forgot to take pictures of the others.  One was Rich Razzleberry (purple accessories) and the other Raspberry Ripple (pink accessories).  Each petite purse has a bottle of nail polish (the blue one actually has clear polish) and a mini manicure set.

manicure-purse

Here are a few tips on how I created this little gem –

  • I cut the Petite Purse Big Shot Die from Pool Party card stock.
  • Cut the back panel again from a small piece of Pool Party card stock and emboss with the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan Folder – attach it to the back of the purse.
  • Cut the back with the flap out of Designer Paper – the paper here is Sycamore Street Designer paper
  • I glued the designer paper on the inside of the purse and flap and then bend the flap back – I actually used a tiny silver brad to attach it to the back of the purse – I didn’t want it to come loose.
  • I tied some Baker’s Twine through one of the Sycamore Street buttons and attached it to the purse using a Stampin’ Dimensional.

manicure-tag

  • For the handle cut a piece of the Sycamore Street ribbon and glue it to the card stock handle from the die cut.  This way you end up with a stiff handle.  I attached each end to the sides of the purse with mini silver brads.
  • stamp a tag from the Pretty Petites stamp set and punch it out with the Petite Curly Label punch – punch a little hole and tie it to the handle with some Baker’s Twine.
  • manicure-top-viewI punched a little circle from the matching designer paper and added it to the top of the manicure set.
  • Tie a piece of ribbon around the nail polish bottle.

Super Cute!  I wish I had pictures of the other ones too so you could see all the matching colors.  These were part of a “candy” wrapper swap that I participated in at the Leadership Conference.  Not everyone did candy ideas – I usually participate in two groups and do one with candy and one without.  Come back again I’ll have the other one later this week.

Several of these products will be available during Sale-A-Bration starting Jan. 22nd.  If you would like to have a Sale-A-Bration mini club with a couple of your friends check out the details on my website – these are going to be fun!

Stampin’ Up! Leadership friend gifts

I made these cute little gifts for my friends at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  Decorated clothespins and a little paper treat bag.  Cute and fun to make!

leadership-friend-swaps

This is a great project that uses recycled paper – it’s the paper we get in our Stampin’ Up! Order boxes but you could use other brown paper.   The paper is cut with the Petite Pocket Die and the Big Shot Die-cut Machine.

leadership-friend-swap

Here are some of the things I used to make this little treat –

  • stamp set – Flowering Flourishes – stamped in Summer Starfruit on the brown paper after it was cut
  • stamp set – Perfect Punches – stamped on Rich Razzleberry card stock
  • punch out with Curly Label punch
  • add a little Summer Starfruit flower punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack flower and a Silver Mini brad
  • cover the clothes pin with Sycamore Street Designer Series paper
  • add a button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button pack that has some Whisper White Baker’s Twine tied through it

Inside these sweet little pockets was a piece of chocolate.  I gave these to my friends as I found them at the Leadership conference.  I hope they all liked the sweet little treat.   The Sycamore Street items will be available for free during Sale-A-Bration starting Jan. 22nd.

If you would like to buy any of these products you can shop at my online store on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net

We heard lots of exciting things at the Leadership Conference about all kinds of fun things that Stampin’ Up! has planned for this year.  I’ll be sharing those throughout the week – some are already on my Facebook page – Stamping Together at Monika’s Place –  so be sure to go like my page and you can see some of them there.

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference

A couple of fun announcements today!  A monthly kit and a kit for men!

Today at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference Bonnie Thurber announced a new Kit in the Mail program called Paper Pumpkin.

paper pumpkin box

Every month you’ll get a cute little box that comes to your door with a fun stamping project.  I think this is going to be such a fun idea and the perfect solution for many of you who can’t make it to a stamping class.  And for anyone else that wants a fun project surprise every month!  The kits will include the ink, the stamps, the card stock and accessories and it will all be pre-cut for you – just some adhesive is all you should need and perhaps a pair of paper snips.  More details coming out on Monday – that is when you can start joining.  But make sure you select me as your demonstrator when you join.  More details are coming!  And be sure to come to classes this month if you want to see the Welcome kit in real life – because everyone here at Leadership received the Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit and Try It Kit (that’s another option for you too).

A few pictures from Leadership

I have a few pictures to share from Leadership – which hasn’t really started yet – Thursday was Check-in day and the Manager’s reception.  And we did a service project packing tote bags with retired Stampin’ Up! products for teachers in the Orlando area.  I also did a couple of swaps with the GoDiva group – a card swap and 3-d swap.  Plus I ran into Shelli and got my picture with her – actually twice today – once at the service project and once at Harry Potter world.  I’ll share more pictures later – I have the others to download from my camera still.  These are the ones I got off of FB.

It’s Shelli and me!

I’m writing this Thursday night and it’s late and I’m tired.  I’m not good with Roller Coaster rides, but I did want to try them out at Harry Potter world.  I should have stopped after the first one.  Note to self – don’t do those rides again.  More later.
