Mar 26, 2009 | Big Shot, Sale-A-Bration 2009, Scrapbook Pages |
A couple of days ago I shared a sneak peek of one of the scrapbook pages from my class. I really love how it turned out. The layout is from a scrapbook magazine but I changed it to use all Stampin’ Up! products of course. The new Beautiful Butterlies Die for the Big Shot is one of my favorite! I used the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper from the Sale-A-Brations brochure one more time. I hope you like it.

Happy Stamping!

Here is a sneak peek at one of the scrapbook pages we will be making at my Scrapbook Class on Wednesday night. I seem to be using alot of Chocolate Chip and So Saffron these days – and yes the Beautiful Butterflies – they have been calling out for me to create a scrapbook page for them. So I finally did last night. It is funny how inspiration alot of times comes at the last minute or late at night – atleast for me anyhow.
What do you think about this signature? I’m hoping I created the file correctly – I wanted my name to be pretty at the end of each post.

Mar 2, 2009 | Big Shot, Punch Art, Scrapbook Pages, Wildlife |
Here is the project that I worked on last night:

Mr. Turtle
Aren’t the little punch turtles the cutest thing?
Many of you know how much I love my punches and I love to do punch art like this. I found a demonstrator in Canada, Heather Summers, that apparently is like me and loves to do this to – so much so that she created an online class of punch projects and the little turtle was the first one. As soon as I saw this little turtle yesterday I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Her turtle was on a card but mine needed to be on a scrapbook page. Remember me telling you about how much I love to have animals in my backyard…well last summer we had a turtle that lived in the backyard for awhile – he spent much of his time under my hostas – and when he would come out the dogs would find him. I think initially they expected it to run away like the chipmunks and squirrels do – but he just walked right along. So one day I got out my camera to take pictures (actually I took pictures on more than one day) and these are some of them. So this scrapbook page is for us to remember Mr. Turtle who eventually moved on out of our yard and out into the big world beyond our fence.
Colors are: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
I also used the Big Shot to create the title and the leaf accents.
I hope you like it!
Have a great day!
And yes we did have school today – while other parts of Georgia all around us seemed to have some snow stick to the ground – we did not. And the wind blew so strong that it dried up most of the moisture from the rain so there really wasn’t much ice here either. So if you had a snow day today – enjoy it! My boys were very disappointed – maybe next time.

Feb 28, 2009 | Best Wishes & More, Big Shot, Scrapbook Pages, Stamps |
I Love You 365…

This is one of the 2-page 12×12 spreads we made at my Wednesday night scrapbook class. These pages use the Best Wishes & More stamp set that demonstrators received at the Stampin’ Up! Orlando Regional Conference – it is on page 55 of the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book. The idea for this page was based on a single 8×8 page in one of the Stampin’ Up! publications. I expanded it into two 12×12 pages. Colors used are Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, and So Saffron. We used both the Big Shot machine and the new Circle Scissor Plus to make thes pages.
Enjoy!

Feb 27, 2009 | Big Shot, Celebrate Everything, Sale-A-Bration 2009, Scrapbook Pages, Stamps |
Hi everyone on this rainy Friday (at least where I am it is rainy). At my scrapbook class on Wednesday night we did a bonus 12×12 page using some of the Sale-A-Bration items. I found this page idea on Splitcoast Stampers and changed a few things on it but the layout was basically the same as the one from the original designer. Like I said yesterday sometimes your final project turns out to look totally different from your inspiration and other times it looks much the same. Here is my 12 x 12 page:

SAB Celebrate Page
The colors come directly from Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. The colors are Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, So Saffron and I used Whisper White. I used the stamp set Polka Dot Punches and also the ribbon from the Ribbon Bundle. I cut out a Top-Note with my Big Shot machine and also used the Stampin’ Up! Little Leaves Embosslit. I stamped the title in Basic Grey ink using the stamp set Celebrate Everything (page 132 in the Spring-Summer 09 Idea Book). This set is great because you have so many choices – there are 7 different words to pair up with the word Celebrate so you can use it from many different things. I used a Bashful Blue brad in the center of the flower. Punches used that coordinate with the Polka Dot Punches stamp set are the Scallop Circle Punch and the 5-Petal Flower Punch. I hope you like it – I think this page could be used for many different things including wedding, baby, Easter and more.
Happy Stamping!

I wanted to share this scrapbook spread with you that I made over the weekend. This was based on a scrapmap from the USTAMP class that I took part in. My scrapbook page didn’t actually ended up like the original scrapmap but that is what all of this is about. You start with something – a map, a color combination, a stamp set, a picture, or anything and it builds from there into what your final project is. You may end up with something that looks totally different from where you started or end up with something that looks almost the same as your original inspiration – either way it works. Here is my result and below are the details and the story behind the pictures:

Happy on the Water
I used a Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin’ Kit to create this 2-page 12×12 spread. This happens to be a retired kit called Creative License that was a Hostess option a few catalogs ago. The colors in the kit are Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Blue Bayou. You could easily take this same layout and use a current Simply Scrappin’ Kit to make your own pages. I used my Big Shot and the new Stampin’ Up! Billboard Alphabet Sizzlit Decorative Strip Die to create my title. At first I thought these letters were going to be too small for scrapbooking – but they aren’t – and you get the whole alphabet – upper and lower case and a few symbols for $21.95 – what a deal! I didn’t want to cut multiple times so I mixed up the upper and lower case letters in my title. I used the Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set to stamp the dogs’ names in Pumpkin Pie ink. And on to the story about the pictures:
During the boys fall break from school last September we went to Tugaloo State Park and rented a cabin on the lake. We took our kayaks and had a little beach right by our cabin. This year I was able to rent a dog friendly cabin so we took the dogs on vacation with us for the first time. When we were playing at the beach and kayaking Greg decided to take the dogs out on the water. Magnolia (pictures on the left page) had no issues with being out there – she walked up to the bow of the kayak and stood there enjoying herself. We were actually surprised at how much she seemed to like it. Aspen (pictures on the right page) was NOT HAPPY about being on that kayak. He was trying to get into Greg’s lap and figure out how to get off that boat. The second Greg got close enough for Aspen to get to the beach he jumped off and that was the end of that! So Aspen spent the rest of our trip with all four feet planted firmly on the ground – no more kayaking for him! So that is why my title for this page is “Happy on the Water or NOT!”
I’ll be taking pictures of the scrapbook pages we made in last nights scrapbook class and get those posted soon.
Have a Happy Day!
