Desktop Calendar – September

More desktop calendar pages for you today. We are now into the fall pages.  And one of the stripes from the Sweet Pea papers was perfect for fall.  I used the Big Shot to die cut leaves which were sponged and I added veins with a marker.

This photo is when we were hiking last September at Red Top Mtn State park during our big flood – the trail was blocked by the water which is behind us in the picture.

Desktop Calendar – July/August

I just realized I didn’t finish showing you my desktop calendar pages.  It looks like the last ones I shared were May and June so I’ll finish the second half of the year over the next week or so.

Since I used the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper for the calendar project I had to make July fit with the color scheme of the paper.  The paper doesn’t have a red in it so I decided to use the Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal for my July page.  And since it was July I used the Star punches.  The photo on this page is from Greg’s family Reunion last July – this would be Greg’s sister, my niece, me and then all of the girl cousins.  Somehow we actually coordinated pretty well with our clothing choices.

July Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Pumpkin Pie card stock
  • Taken with Teal card stock and ink
  • Sahara Sand card stock and ink
  • Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack
  • Scallop Border punch
  • Star punch
  • Large Star punch
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine
  • Billboard Alphabet Sizzlits Strip die
  • Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set
  • Chocolate Chip ink
  • Stampin’ Sponge

The August Calendar uses the new stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure called Good Neighbors.  It has the little houses and trees.  The Sweet Pea paper has patterns with trees on it so those worked perfect.  I haven’t added a photo to this page yet – I can’t decide what to put on it – a picture or our house might be good here.  Since the boys are older I don’t take the First Day of School pictures like I used – we start school in August so that would be a great picture for this page.

The August calendar supply list:

  • Old Olive card stock, ink and marker
  • Chocolate Chip card stock and ink
  • So Saffron card stock and marker
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack
  • Scallop Trim Border punch
  • 1-3/4″ circle punch
  • Big Shot die-cut machine
  • Billboard Alphabet Sizzlits Strip die
  • Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set

Thanks for stopping by today.  It is a beautiful day today – perfectly blue skies!

Happy Stampin’!

February WOW Scrapbook Kit

Finally the updates are ready for the February WOW Scrapbook Kit.

The Holidays and the first of the year have been busy for Wendy and I and we are excited to have this new set of pages ready!

There are three great 2-page 12″ x 12″ layouts in this kit.  One uses the Happy Moments stamp set and is shown as a birthday layout but you could switch out the images and use it for something else.  The second one features the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and I {Love} Love Jumbo wheel – use if for Valentine or just as a page about someone you love.  The third layout is a beautiful Vintage layout and looks so much better in person – I wish you could see it.

Hop on over to the WOW Scrapbook Kits blog to get all the details and the ordering information.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Vintage Scrapbook Page

I’m continuing with the 52 weeks of stress free scrapbooking – and I have week 4 finished – that means 48 more to go…

I love how this one turned out. On the 52 weeks blog – Janna actually had two layouts – this was the alternate layout and I turned it on it’s side.  And used all Stampin’ Up! product to create my version.

I have never made a black & white page – I added one color – a combination of So Saffron/Crushed Curry.  The photo is my grandmother that died before I was born so I never knew her.  It is an old photo from 1930 – so it is black & white with the yellowing of a vintage photo so I decided the So Saffron would work well with it.

The base is a piece of 12 x 12 Basic Black card stock.  I stamped it with the large swirl image from the Baroque Motifs stamp set using VersaMark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The other black panel is created the same way.  I used some of the Night & Day Designer Series Paper was in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog (now you can get it as a Digital Download for My Digital Studio).  I add a few strips of So Saffron card stock and create the edging with the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (you can get it FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order).  The patterned paper layered behind the photo and the title at the bottom is the Crushed Curry print from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper pack – it is a light print so it looks more like So Saffron.  There are small photo corners  punched from the Basic Black card stock and the Photo Corners punch.

The accent pieces are stamped with the Vintage Labels set (another one you can get FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order) – the curly label frame image was stamped with Crushed Curry or Basic Black ink on Whisper White, So Saffron card stock and a piece of the Night & Day Designer Series paper.  These were all punched out with the Curly Label punch.

Then I stamped each one with an image from the Charming stamp set which was featured in the Holiday Mini catalog but is still available during the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The flower was stamped with Crushed Curry ink.  The other two were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder.

I was very happy with how this one turned out.  I hope you like it too.  Now to work on week 5’s layout…..

Have a wonderful Stampin’ Up! Day!

I {Heart} Hearts Scrapbook Page

I finished my week 3 scrapbook page for the 52 weeks challenge – so there are 49 more weeks to go!  Now to work on week 4.  For this page I ended up using several new products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog.  It ended up as a Valentine Page in non-traditional colors.

We celebrate Valentine’s Day a bit differently.  For many years now I have used this more as a celebration of all my boys.  I cook a surf & turf dinner – crab legs, lobster, steak.  I can spend the same or less and give all of us a fancy meal instead of Greg and I going out alone.   One year while Kyle and Tyler were in Cotillion we did a formal dinner with all the different silverware and dishes so they could practice what they were learning.

At the end of dinner we have a scavenger hunt for them to find treats and things around the house.  I usually create hidden codes or clues that they have to figure out.  We started this when the boys were first in Cub Scouts and learning about secret codes.  The codes got harder as the boys grew older.  About this time of year they start to ask if we are still having our scavenger hunt this year.  And this year Greg told me Tyler invited his girlfriend over to spend Valentine’s with us.

Here are the list of Stampin’ Up! Supplies that I used on this page:

MDS page – “Fire”

I made another page with Stampin’ Up!s My Digital Studio yesterday.  Another lesson from Heather’s MDS class.

On this page I used the Oval punch and made it super big and then filled it with Not Quite Navy designer series paper and matted in black.  The title is a text box using a font I found on my computer that looked like wood slats so it matched the picnic table in the photos.

I add black brads as accents on the two pieces of designer paper.

The photos are actually just two different photos – the left shows the whole scene.  The bottom right is the same photo focused on the fire.  And the top right photo is another one in the series and I wanted to focus more on Ryan and his concentration.  The original photo was actually in the other direction but it looked funny stacked on the bottom photo so I used the Photo Effects option in MDS and created a Mirror Image.

The text is directly on the photo – which is something really cool about creating a Digital Scrapbook Page.

Thanks for looking today!  Come back tomorrow for a super cute project that I made for the Create with Connie & Julie class challenge…
