More pages from my Desktop Calendar…..
For the month of November I used the turkey stamp from the Holiday mini catalog. I made a slight change to mine after the class because of suggestion from one of the girls at the class. I originally didn’t have the circle behind the turkeys but added them later.
My dog Magnolia has a birthday in November so the little dog image from the All in the Family stamp set worked perfectly for that. I tried to color it with markers to make it kind of look like Magnolia.
November Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

The Wow Scrapbook Kit for March is here. If you don’t know what Wow Scrapbook Kits are – it is a joint effort between me and my friend and upline Wendy.
Wendy designs these beautiful scrapbook pages that she calls WOW pages – I just love them and often use the ideas for my own classes. Together we have decided to sell the tutorials online for others to use in teaching scrapbook classes or to anyone that wants to purchase the consumable materials with instructions as a kit.
I have created a blog and write the tutorials each month for these WOW pages. Each layout is a 2-page 12″ x 12″ spread – and there are three new ones each month – so a total of 6 pages. In the tutorials you will have step-by-step instructions including WOW tips and technique instructions.
If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you can get the instructions for all the pages for the month or pick and choose through the individual layouts each month. Most are adaptable to other stamp sets and colors so you can use what you already have on hand.
If you are not a demonstrator you can order the monthly kit which includes all the consumable supplies – everything will be precut, you just need to stamp and put it together, and then add your photos.
These are really WOW in person – it hasn’t been easy to get pictures that do these pages justice and you only get to see a sneak peek of one page from each set. I hope you’ll take a look and hop on over to the WOW Scrapbook Kits blog to get all the details and the ordering information.
Thanks for stopping in today!

More pages from my Desktop Calendar – Here is October – without a picture on it – not sure what to use on it yet – halloween dress up is really not happening at our house any more so I’ll have to find something else for the month of October.

The pumpkins are made with punches – can you tell which ones? The wide pumpkins are the Wide Oval, then the 1-3/8″ circle, then the Small Oval. The skinny pumpkins are just the circle and the small oval. I sponged the edges of all the punched pieces so you can see the “sections” of the pumpkin. The stem is the Modern label Punch and the leaves are the Little Leaves Sizzlit for the Big Shot.
October Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Pumpkin Pie card stock
- Old Olive card stock
- Chocolate Chip card stock
- Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack
- Scallop Trim Border punch
- Wide Oval punch
- 1-3/8″ Circle punch
- Small oval punch
- Modern label punch
- Big Shot Die Cut Machine
- Little Leaves Sizzlit
- Billboard Alphabet Sizzlits Strip die
- Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set
- Chocolate Chip ink and marker

It is another Snow Day here in Georgia – yep another one – this has been the winter for snow all over the US – I think everyone has had more than normal. The schools closed early – Tyler and Ryan are already home. Kyle is on his way – I hope he gets here safely with no road troubles. The streets in our neighborhood were already getting slushy a couple of hours ago. And the snow hasn’t stopped since about 8 this morning – it was mixed with rain in the beginning but not right now.
So in honor of another Snow Day I’ll share my SNOW DAY scrapbook layout with you!
We made this layout at my Scrapbook class last week. The snow flake is from the Season of Friendship stamp set and stamped in Very Vanilla Craft ink randomly on the background. The background is Chocolate Chip.
I used Bashful Blue Patterns Designer Series paper for the wide strip and for the scalloped strip on each page.
The Jumbo Snowflake punched was used to punch snowflakes for each page – 1 in Chocolate Chip, 1 in Very Vanilla, and one in Close to Cocoa. The title is cut on the Big Shot with the Simple Letters Alphabet Dies – these are Chocolate Chip and are also stamped with the snowflakes. The are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up off the page. I added a piece of Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon on the ‘O’ and the ‘D’.
The fun part was the snowmen – I cut a piece of Close to Cocoa card stock with the Top Note Die and the Big Shot. On each I stamped the Snowmen from Holiday Lineup in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
Then to make the snowmen “white” I used an aquapainter filled with Bleach! The bleach removes the color from the card stock and turns it into a vanilla color so they look like snow men. It was fun – you may need to go over them more than once to get the color that you want and make sure to use fresh bleach.
I plan to add pictures of the dogs – Aspen and Magnolia – playing in the snow when we had our last Snow Day – it was the light fluffy dry kind of snow. What we have today is wet snow. I hope you like the page – I really liked how it turned out.
Have a fun SNOW DAY!

Have Fun, Play Hard, Be Happy!
This is my week 6 page for the 52 weeks challenge. I pulled out some old photos from 1996! This is Kyle (he is now 18) and Tyler (he is now 16) when they were little.
I thought this turned out to be a fun page. I used some retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper called Rainbow Sherbet. The colors in the paper are Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Apricot Appeal and Gable Green. I decided to add Brilliant Blue for my lettering, photo frames, and scalloped accents since that was the color of the pool. The colors worked well since the boys swim suits were blue and green too.
The stamp in the background is the sparkle image from the Good Friend stamp set. It matches the sparkle in the designer paper. I cut the scallop circles and the top note using the Big Shot and the letters too. I added little accents with my Brilliant Blue Stampin’ Write maker. I used some randomly placed brads from the Bold Bright Brads scattered around the circles and the top note just for fun.
It turned out to be a fun page with bright colors!
Thanks for stopping by today!

She is the shelter from the storm…
As you can tell if you have been reading my blog I spend some of my time observing the birds and animals in nature around me. It is actually very fascinating and you can learn a lot. Last year in May my friend and upline Wendy had a group retreat at her home. It turned out to be a rainy weekend. The back of Wendy’s house faces into the woods and the back porch is high off the ground and I was surprised to see on her porch a nest built on the floor next to the grill. I kept my eye on the nest – it had four beautiful blue eggs and belonged to a Robin.
I had never really thought about it but the mama robin sat in that nest during the rain to protect her eggs. She sat on top and spread her wings to create a shelter from the storm. When the rain stopped she flew away to do what she needed to do. I found it to be quite amazing the protection that she offered those eggs.
Because she was close I was able to get some great pictures of her on the nest and of the eggs. I pulled them out and decided to put them on a scrapbook page.
This is my week 5 page for the 52 weeks of scrapbooking challenge. (I also finished week 6 and I’ll show you that tomorrow).
I used Taken with Teal as my background to match the color of the Robin’s eggs. I added strips of designer paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper pack. I used the Big Shot to create some accent pieces – the scalloped circle, and the flower daisies in the corner.
The new xl Two-Step Bird punch added an accent on my circle and the stems on my flowers. The stamp set I used is Upsy Daisy. And then a piece of black satin ribbon at the top.
The Designer Paper, the bird punch and the satin ribbon are all from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. If you haven’t tried out the ribbon you really should – I have used most of what I bought and I’m on my second roll of most of the colors. I hope it is in our next catalog and I wish they would add So Saffron – this week for some reason I have wanted to use So Saffron ribbon more than once.
Sadly, I found out a few weeks later that while the mom did a wonderful job protecting her eggs during the storm she did not make a wise decision on the location of the nest. Because it was on the floor of the deck it was easy for other animals to reach. I hope she tried again in a better location.
I’ll be back tomorrow with my week 6 page.
