I had plans to start something new on Fridays called Share The Fun. That is what the front of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog says and my idea was to share a card from the catalog. In really old catalogs they used to have a list of supplies for every project that was shown in the catalog. In more recent catalogs it was no longer printed as part of the catalog but was available as a pdf for us to access. And currently we just have the samples in the catalog without the supply list (unless you look at the You Can Make It ideas those show you the supplies). I often have people ask what was used to make a particular sample. So my idea is to try to recreate some of those samples so I can give you a list of the supplies and maybe some instructions too. Originally I planned to copy them exactly but when I was working on this card I opted to make a few changes – one main reason is I didn’t have one of the stamp sets that they used. So let’s just say sometimes I’ll make a variation of the sample in the catalog.
For my In-Color class the other week I wanted a card that showcased the Mint Macaron color. When I looked through the catalog I would always return to the card on page 16 – it was simple, clean and very pretty and soft. It had just a hint of the Mint Macaron. I decided to use that idea for my class but wanted a bit more Mint Macaron by using that for my card base instead of Very Vanilla like the one in the catalog. I also had to change the stamp set since I didn’t have One Big Meaning.
Here you can see what I came up with.
- I used Mint Macaron for the card base instead of Very Vanilla
- I added the Typeset Specialty Designer Series paper – it’s torn along the top edge and stamped along the bottom edge with the Honeycomb image from Butterfly Basics – to keep the color light stamp off on scratch paper first.
- My Very Vanilla layer is stamped with the flower from Butterfly Basics – the catalog card looks a bit lighter so I think they may have stamped off first
- I used the Host stamp set called Happy Birthday, Everyone for my card and stamped Memento Black Ink
- I tied the Linen Thread around my layer – I just put mine in a different place because of where I did my stamping
- I finished with the Mint Macaron blossom just like they did
- They also added some Pearls which I opted not to do
- Put the layer on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Now you can go make this card – switch out the stamp sets or even the colors for something else and make several variations.

Do you want to have some recipe ideas featuring the new In-Colors? I mean real food recipes – not card recipes!
At my New Catalog Kickoff party I wanted to feature snacks that related to our new in-colors since whoever creates the names generally seems to always be hungry as most of them are food related. So prior to my party I went on a search for some recipes to try and here is what I came up with.
First I had Cucumber Crush Bites –
This was a recipe I had found a few months ago online somewhere and I see it going around all the time. If you are on Weight Watchers – this works – except for the cream cheese it’s no points. I used lite cream cheese but you could probably use a no-fat version too. You can find the recipe here.
The next color was Watermelon Wonder – besides just serving watermelon I wanted to find something else and came across a salsa recipe. So here is Watermelon Wonder Salsa –
This one is also great for Weight Watcher’s – the only points are the chips and I got Whole Grain tortilla chips. You can see the recipe here.
Out next color is Delightful Dijon and for that one you can go a lot of different ways. I finally choose to have Delightful Dijon Ham Sliders.
This would not be Weight Watcher friendly but I did try to make them a little better with some wheat buns and lite cheese. I think there are many versions of this recipe around. This is the one I used – see it here.
Then there is Mint Macaron – which should be easy just buy Mint Macarons. Well I couldn’t find any around here where I live so I needed an alternative. I decided on Mint “Macaron” Cupcakes.
Now I was hoping to get the frosting to look like our Mint Macaron color but I didn’t have any luck with that. Mine is just green looking and the frosting didn’t set up like it should have either – probably my fault for using lite cream cheese. I was trying to make it a bit more healthy. They still tasted good even if they didn’t look the way I wanted. See the recipe here.
So the last one was tricky – Tip Top Taupe – not exactly a food related name so I put on my thinking cap and came up with Tip Top Taupe Toffee!! I thought it was a perfect treat to round out my snacks.
I used an old recipe that I’ve made before – although usually i make it in the winter time. I swear in this summer heat it didn’t quite turn out the same – but still yummy tasting. See the recipe here.
I also served some water that I had cucumbers in so that was pretty tasty. Everyone enjoyed the snacks. Now you have your whole in-color menu ready to go! Enjoy!
Thanks for visiting today – let me know which recipe is your favorite.

Last week I started sharing the cards from my Hands On Stamping Class introducing the new In-Colors. We met Cucumber Crush and now we are going to say hi to Watermelon Wonder. The two of them go together very well and were perfect for this card.
I used both colors to create a slice of watermelon! Yum!
I stamped with my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set – the lines on the watermelon rind and the texture for the inside of the watermelon. I added seeds – they are the little candle flame from the Cupcake Punch.
A little bit of washi tape along the bottom of the card – that’s from the Cherry On Top collection. And then the new lace ribbon in Watermelon Wonder. So sweet!

Last week I had a Hands On Stamping Class introducing the new In-Colors. One of the new colors is Cucumber Crush – a bright green.
The Cherry On Top Paper Stack includes this color so I used strips of different prints from the pack all cut to 1″ wide and used the new Triple Banner Punch to make them all into banners. Attach them all to a piece of Whisper White card stock. On the bottom I stamped using the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set. Add a card stock strip of Cucumber Crush and some of the Crushed Curry Baker’s twine across all the strips and add attach the whole layer to a Cucumber Crush card base. A pretty quick and easy card with that new punch.

I thought I would share a quick sneak peek today – it’s a brand new stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! catalog – the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog that starts on June 2, 2015.
The set is called Sprinkles of Life and you may miss it in the catalog – it is on the inside of the back cover and it’s the new Ronald McDonald House stamp set. That means for every stamp set that is sold Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. This set is SOOO Cute! You are going to love it. I can’t wait to play with it some more. There is even a matching punch – the Tree Builder Punch – it’s what the scoops of ice cream are punched with – so it’s much more than just a tree punch. I also used the new In Color Envelope Paper – the new color I used here is Watermelon Wonder.
In case you are wondering about the background it is one of the masks in the Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit from the Occasions catalog – be sure to order that before it’s gone – last day is June 2nd.

May 12, 2015 | Big Shot, In Colors, Retired List |
Last month I made these Curvy Keepsake boxes using the 2013-2015 In Colors. These lovely colors are leaving our collection right now and will be replaced with 5 new ones.
I went to a scrapbook weekend with some of my crafty friends back in April and I wanted to make a little treat for everyone. It was right after Easter and I found the little Lindt Chocolate Bunnies fit nicely inside. I probably should have added just a little “grass” inside to hold them still since they all shifted a bit when I picked the boxes up.
Like every year the retiring In-Color products – especially ink refills and then card stock tend to be gone in a flash. And this year was no different. It looks like the Thick Baker’s Twine is still available, Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock, Ink pads for Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush, the Markers and the Sequins are basically what is left in these colors. I hope you got what you wanted.
Here is a closer look at my little box and tag –
On the outside of each Curvy Keepsake box I stamped flowers from the Painted Petals stamp set. I also punched a circle in one side so the bunny could peek out.
The tags were punched with the Note Tag punch and stamped with the saying from Painted Petals. I used the little flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack to punch flowers. These I pierced holes in the center and then pulled through a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine that was tied in a little loop knot to create the center of each flower. Each tag was tied to the box with White Baker’s Twine. I mixed and matched all the In-Colors for one last project.
Good Bye – Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. We will miss you all!
