Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! Live in the Sunshine Scrapbook Layout

ryan-scrapbook-layout

These turned out to be the perfect pictures for this scrapbook layout I created earlier this year.  I made the layout for a scrapbook swap that I participated in at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference.  I really love this layout but it has lots of pieces!  And after making 10 of them for the swap – I was ready to put it away for a while.  This weekend though I pulled it back out and while I was looking through some pictures I found these that I took of Ryan last Easter in 2012.  Ryan is stylin’ the long hair and he has some beautiful eyes – he often gets comments about his eyes and I was lucky enough to get these pictures of him – he was “modeling” for me – it rarely happens – and then I got a candid shot where you can really see his eyes.  I had hoped to get some good pictures this year at our Easter gathering but mother nature didn’t really cooperate and it rained on and off all after noon.

Here are some close ups and a few details on what I used on the layout –

Several of the products are from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog –

  • Bitty Butterfly punch
  • Print Poetry Designer Paper Stack
  • Natural 7/16″ Trim Ribbon
  • Collage Curios stamp set

And some of the regular catalog products include:

  • Pursuit of Happiness stamp set
  • In-Color Dahlias
  • Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit card stock and ink
  • Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon
  • Crumb Cake card stock and ink
  • Petite Pennants Builder punch
  • 1″ Circle punch
  • 2-1/2″ Circle punch
  • Sweet Buttons Embosslit
  • Apothecary Accents Framelits

I hope you like this layout as much as I do.  Thanks for stopping by today.

It’s time to Create with TIny Tags and Itty Bitties

It’s time for a new Color Challenge at Create with Connie & Mary . – that means it’s Thursday.  Plus you can get daily inspiration right now if you join Create with Connie & Mary Spring 2013 Online class.  They are show-casing items from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog plus Sale-A-Bration!  Lots of great ideas and its not too late to join.

So here is this weeks color challenge –

2013 Thursday Challenges-001

All three are from the 2011-2013 In-Color collection – so I thought about having Baker’s Twine in all three colors.  Then I remembered a card I saw on Pinterest that used Baker’s Twine and tiny tags – it wasn’t a Stampin’ Up! card but I knew I could recreate the idea with my Stampin’ Up! products.  So here is my version.

ccmc238-monika

Here are some details on this card –

  • card base is Island Indigo with a layer of Calypso Coral and then a layer of Whisper White
  • I stamped three little tags from Tiny Tags – one in each color – Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo and punched them out with the Jewelry tag punch and punched a hole in the top with the 1/16 handheld punch
  • On the Lucky Limeade tag I stamped a tiny butterfly from the Itty Bitties stamp set in the Spring catalog
  • On the Calypso Coral tag I added a bitty flower punched from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack with a small Rhinestone in the center.
  • I added the matching Baker’s Twine to each tag – tying just a piece with a knot to be attached to the back of the card and then using a second piece to tie a bow at the top of the tag.
  • I stamped “wishing you a wonderful day” on the white card front in Island Indigo ink – I did use my Stamp-a-ma-jig because I wanted to be sure it was straight
  • I placed the tags on the white card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then attached the Baker’s Twine to the back before attaching it to the front of the card.

But there’s a little bit more – I decided I wanted to dress up the inside – I had a piece of scrap paper on my craft table that had a piece punched out of it and it made me think I could add a Whisper White layer to the inside of the card with the Jewelry tag punched out of it.  So here is what it looks like –

I stamped the bitty butterfly and added a small Baker’s Twine bow.  Just a fun little addition to the inside!

Heart #4 – Petite Pocket Treat

I have another version of my recycled paper Petite Pocket Treat holders – this is #4 in my Hearts for Valentine’s posts.

GoDiva-3d-leadership-swap

I made these for a GoDiva group swap at Leadership.  Inside I had some Russell Stover chocolate – yum!  I used the recycled paper that comes in our Stampin’ Up! orders to make the little pouches.  These are great when you need to make a bunch of sweet little treats but don’t want to spend a lot of money – you just need ink, some scraps of designer paper, scrap of card stock, the recycled paper and your clothes pin and embellishments.  Here is what I used for this one –

  • Cut the recycled paper with the Petite Pocket die and the Big Shot – glue the sides together with the multi-purpose glue
  • stamp Love you (from Seasonal Sayings) in Raspberry Ripple ink and also drag the ink pad across the paper to ink the edges and some of the wrinkles
  • stamp the small heart (from Hearts a Flutter) on Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the 4you from Tiny tags.  I also added a little bitty punched heart (the one from the two-step owl punch).  Cut the heart with the framelit and add to the front of the pocket
  • cover the clothes pin on both sides with a strip of designer paper – I used a piece from the Print Poetry Paper Stack
  • add a Linen thread bow and one of the little Primrose Petals Dahlias

Cute, quick and easy to make.

The Best Day Scrapbook Layout

I haven’t shared any of my scrapbook layouts from the past couple of months so I thought I better catch up on that.  We made this layout in my July class.  It uses the Patio Party Designer Series paper and the color palette from that.

I used Bakers Twine to create little banners with punched circles and a pennant.  The In-Colors Dahlia’s add a fun little element to the banners.  The title letters are cut out of Chipboard and “painted” with the ink pads.  I used the Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit colors – just lay the chipboard letter face down in the ink pad and press it into the pad – cover it with a scrap piece of card stock or wear some gloves to keep your fingers from getting inky.  Let the letters dry.

Have a fun weekend!  I’m hoping to post more layouts this weekend and also record a couple of videos.  Plus work on swaps and finish the ribbon and paper shares – all the ribbon is cut just need to package it up.  But tonight we will be going to the football game to watch Ryan and the band (and I guess we will watch the football game too).  I think it will be a nice night for high school football!

Petite Pocket Pouch

I don’t think I have shared this little project on my blog yet.  It has been a while since I made it.  Back in June probably.

I cut a piece of Gumball Green card stock with the Petite Pocket Pouch die and then ran it through the Big Shot again with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  The front is decorated with the flower image from Button Buddies.  It is stamped and cut out three times using both the of the new In-Colors – Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals.  In the center is a Dahlia and also some of the new striped ribbon.

Inside the pouch is a little piece of white card stock that has the flower stamped on the bottom (sorry I didn’t get a picture of it all the way out of the pouch).  The top has the little grommet pieces from the die and then tied with Baker’s Twine.  I used the Petite Pairs stamp set to add the “thanks”.   You can write your note on the white card.

These would be cute on a place setting at a dinner table when you are having a celebration.  I have another idea to share later that uses the same pouch – I still need to get it photographed though.

I have made a change to the comments section of my posts.  Now you (or I) can reply to comments that are left.  So if you have a question – leave a comment and I’ll reply there with the answer.  Then everyone can see it – because if one person has a question probably someone else has the same one.

Have a nice day!
