Dec 10, 2011 | Christmas, class, Tags |
Hi all – I hope you weekend is off to a good start. I had a super lazy morning – slept in – I really needed that. Lounged around, checked some emails, played Angry Birds, and did a bit of nothing. But now I am showered and dressed and ready to get on with the day. And since I have been neglecting my blog a little bit I thought I would start my day here.
Today I have some tags to show you – we will be making these at my hands on class this coming Friday – if you’d like to come to class please email me – my website is down right now so you can’t rsvp there. Hopefully Stampin’ Up! will get that fixed soon.

The idea for these tags came from a non-SU crafting blog that I follow. I just adapted the ideas to use all Stampin’ Up! products.
Class will be on Friday, December 16th at 10 am and also at 7 pm. This is just one of the things we will be making. That’s all for now.

Sep 28, 2011 | Cards, class, Halloween, Holiday Mini catalog 2011 |
Here is a quick card for you today. This will be one of the choices at the Card Maker’s Club today. I got the idea from a candy treat project that Mary Fish made – I just turned it into a card.
I’ve got lots to do so I’m keeping this short. Stamp sets are the new Warmest of Wishes Hostess set in the Holiday Mini catalog and Wicked Cool.

Sep 26, 2011 | Cards, class, Halloween |
Well the fall break and the weekend are over and it is time to get back to a normal routine again. So I’ll do my best to get back on my regular posting schedule – I missed a few days this last week.
Here are some cards that I created for my Hands-On class and then we also made them at the KSU card class this week. And guess what – I’ll have some at the Card Maker’s Club this week too. This is a fun card using the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set – the set has 24 different images in it so everyone has the chance to make this card just the way they want. It uses the Frightful Sight Designer Series paper. The colors are Basic Grey, Basic Black, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze.
Here are the details on the Card Maker’s Club – RSVP on my website if you would like to come.
The Card Maker’s club is all about cards and everyone is invited. Bring a list of cards that you need for the month of August – birthdays, anniversaries, thank you – whatever you might need. Each club meeting will be $15 and you will make 6 cards with envelopes. If time permits you can make additional cards for $2 each – so you make as many as you need in the time of the class. And you can choose which cards you want to make and how many – there will be at least 12 different card choices. And card designs will be available for more than one month – so you can come back to make more or make some that you didn’t get to the last time. This should give you flexibility to create what you need each month.
Please bring adhesive – if you’d like me to order Stampin’ Up! Snail Adhesive, Snail refill, or Tombow Multipurpose glue to have on hand for you please let me know before the class.
Bring your own drink – I will provide a small snack. I think it will be fun and I hope you will join me. Everyone is invited – earn free cards by bringing a friend that I don’t know.
There will be a Mystery Hostess for those that would like to place orders. If there are at least $150 in orders (product) then I will select a Mystery Hostess from everyone that placed an order and she will receive the Hostess benefits – a minimum of $25 in free product (or more if the orders are higher). Everyone loves the flexibility of the new Hostess program and the new hostess set offering!
Card Maker’s Club
Wednesday, September 28th 10:00am – 12:30pm and 7:00pm-9:30pm
RSVP directly from the events on my website calendar.

Sep 16, 2011 | Big Shot, class, Holiday Mini catalog 2011, Thanksgiving |
I wanted to share a quick little treat that we will be making in my Hands-On Stamping Class today. And I’m learning about my new iphone – I took the picture with my phone and then emailed to myself so I could edit it on my computer. I’m not sure how much faster that is than just using my camera but i wanted to know how to do it anyway.
One thing I did notice is that I need to send a bigger version of the picture – this one is full size and not that big – usually I have a larger picture and I include a reduced version in my blog post and then you can click on it to see the larger photo – this one is as big as it gets from what I sent from my phone. I do think I can choose to send a larger version from my phone – so I’ll try that next time.
Back to the project – I used the new 1″ x 8″ Cellophane Bags in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini catalog. I filled them loosely with Reese’s pieces so that I could close it and then fold it in half. The holder is Chocolate Chip card stock cut with the Two Tags die and the Big Shot. To close it I wrapped a piece of the wide striped Daffodil Delight Ribbon around it pulling the ribbon through the slot in the back of the tag. Then I used a large Rhinestone brad to go around the ribbon and then through the hole in the back of the tag so it would be secure. Trim the ribbon.
For the front I stamped the turkey image from the Gift Givers stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalog – I used black ink, then colored the turkey with my Stampin’ Write markers – Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake. Punch that out with the Curly Label punch. Then punch out a Pumpkin Pie Decorative Label punch to layer behind it. Attach to the front over the ribbon with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
You can easily make this treat for any of the holidays using the other images in the Gift Givers stamp set – just adjust the colors to that holiday. Click Here to look at all the Stampin’ Up! images in the set. You can order online at my website store.
Have a nice day!

Sep 1, 2011 | Cards, class, Masculine, Mini - Love Notes, Summer Mini 2011 |
I hope you enjoyed the box yesterday. Today I’m going to start sharing some of the Mini cards that we created to go in the box. These are all 3×3 finished cards so you start with a piece of 3″ x 6″ card stock and fold it in half. They fit inside the mini square envelopes.

This first card features the Open Sea stamp set and Nautical Expedition Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and a strip of the designer paper. Next a piece of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. The images are stamped on the Crumb Cake square – the globe in Crumb Cake ink and the Anchor is actually Basic Gray ink. Before I attached this piece to the Early Espresso square I added the little Vintage Trinket safety pin. Here is a close up picture of how I did that.

I used the 1/16″ circle punch and punched a hole inside the top of the anchor and another just outside. Then slide the open end of the safety pin through both holes and close it up again. Tie the Early Espresso Baker’s Twine to the safety pin. This design came right out of the Summer Mini Catalog.
That’s it for that one. Now on to the second card for today –

This one features the Button Buddies stamp set along with the Extreme Elements set and the Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess stamp set. The base of the card is Sahara Sand. Stamp the block of dots from Extreme Elements in More Mustard ink. Here is a close up of where I stamped.

There is a strip of Well Worn Designer Series Paper across the card and the greeting was stamped on the bottom. The snail from Button Buddies is stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Early Espresso ink. Punch out with the wide oval punch (I know that is the old name but I just can’t remember what the new name is). Behind that is a punch out of More Mustard card stock using the 1-3/4″ circle punch. On the snail shell I added a More Mustard button tied with a piece of Linen Thread. Cute!
I hope you like these two little mini cards. I have more to come in the next few days so check back again. Thanks!
