Pocket Silhouettes with Versa Mark

These projects that I’m showing you this week are from classes that I have had this month and some including this one will also be in my Card Maker’s Club class which is today (Wednesday).  I really like the softness of this card – the idea came from one I saw on Pinterest (so many great ideas not just for crafts but recipes too).

The base of the card is Sahara Sand and then the four panels on top are Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray.  Each one is stamped in VersaMark ink with one of the flower images in the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set – this one is on the retiring list.  I sponged all the panels and the strip across the front with Sahara Sand ink.  There are two brads on the left and the sentiment on the right side of the strip.  I made this a thank you card but it would work for a sympathy card too.

I also wanted to mention that I have a New Catalog Open House on Sunday!  Come see the new In-Colors and try out the new ink pads.  I have catalogs, Make-n-takes, snacks and more.  Bring a friend and come see me.  Details are on my website.

I’ll be back later –

Flight of the Butterfly

It’s time to bring back some creations with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and the coordinating punch.  Both are on the Retiring list – and I really love butterflies so I hate to see them go.  Two cards for my class tonight have butterflies on them and I seem to use them all the time. These are some old posts from my blog over the past few years.  I also included Butterfly prints which coordinates with the same punch.  And some other retiring products on these cards – the Eyelet border punch, Pocket Silhouettes stamp set,  and Funky Four.  I know it’s a big list and lots of good stuff is on it that we won’t be able to order again – so hurry before you favorites are gone.

Have a nice day!

Apothecary Art and Label Framelits

I’m back – so sorry for being MIA for a while.   I had a super busy weekend – I spent all day Saturday (literally all day – left at 7:30 am and got back at 11:00 pm) at the Bascomb UMC Scrapbook Crop.  What a fun day!  The days leading up to that I was frantically getting ready, printing flyers, packing scrapbook layouts, die-cutting hearts, butterflies, buttons and more for goody bags, prepping a make&take and packing up everything for my booth.  The crop was a blast and I met so many nice ladies!  I can’t believe I have never been to a crop before – they were so right about having more stuff than you had room for – even I needed more table space and I had 2 6foot tables for all my stuff.  But one table was my M&T station which was a lot of fun.  I hope to see many of those ladies at my classes and then again in October at the next crop.

So after that my parents came on Sunday to spend the night so I could spend time with them for my birthday.  Kyle and Tyler both came home from college too and we had my birthday dinner Sunday night.  That was a good thing because Monday (my actual birthday) was not a good day.  I was sick and spent most of the day horizontal – so my parents went on home and I slept most of the day and missed my whole birthday.  Yesterday I was up and about but not 100% – so I still ate very little but I was able to get back to work.  I think I lost weight on Monday since it had to be an almost zero calorie day – I drank water, ate 4 saltine crackers and had some gatorade.  Greg brought flowers home that evening and my dad brought me an orchid before they left to head back home.  We make up our lunch and dinner plans later.  Does this mean I didn’t really get a year older if I slept through my birthday?

Ok – sorry for the rambling but I wanted to let you know why I was gone for so long….

And I have one other issue – I put my camera in a safe place and now I can’t find it.  So until then my pictures are from my iphone – so this one isn’t that great.  This card uses both Sale-A-Bration and Occasions Mini Catalog products.

The main image is Apothecary Art which coordinates perfectly with the new Label Collection Framelits.  I really love the framelits and can’t wait to see what new designs they have in our next catalog (coming June 1st).  I stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock first.  Then use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to add the words in the banner section – I used Soft Suede ink by the way.  I find it easier to color first – I used my Stampin’  Write Markers – Blushing Bride and Certainly Celery – then cut it with the Big Shot and the Label – and sponge the edges.  I cut a Blushing Bride layer in the label that was one size larger – and sponge the edges of it too.

On the base of the card I stamped the Fresh Vintage stamp set which is one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp set choices – it is very subtle – Soft Suede ink on the Soft Suede card stock.  I used Very Vanilla Seam Binding tied around the card base – tied in a knot.  Attach the layered labels over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish – cut some of the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit – sponge those too – and add a couple of basic pearls.

The idea for this card came from the box that I created in February – I just decided to turned that idea into a card – here is that post.

I hope I didn’t bore you today with rambling –  I wish I was a better writer – but I’m not sorry.  I will probably be posting some more MDS projects since I don’t need my camera for those pictures.  Have a great day!

Outlined Occasions – Thanks

Have you earned any of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration items for free yet?  This is a set you might want to get – it’s called Outlined Occasions.

This was a quick card to make using strips of Designer Series Paper from the Everyday Enchantment paper (also a Sale-A-Bration item). You could easily use strips of any paper that you have.  I used the Stampin’ Write Markers that matched the colors in the paper to color the Outlined Occasions word.  There are three word choices – Thanks, Celebrate, and Love.  Any of them could be used on this card.  I stamped the word first with JetBlack StazOn ink on Whisper White card stock.  Then cut the word out with one of the labels from the Framelit Labels Collection (in the Occasions Mini Catalog).

The coordinating phrase was stamped on Lucky Limeade card stock and punched out with the Modern Label punch.  I added some Rhinestones as accents.

The background is Crumb Cake and the colors I used that match the paper are Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Peach Parfait.

Sale-A-Bration continues through the end of March.  For every $50 of product that you order you can choose 1 Sale-A-Bration item for Free.  If you’d like to see the brochure CLICK HERE.

Thanks for visiting today!

The Last One

Today is the last one.  The last radiation treatment for Greg’s Mom.  I’ll be going with her in just a few minutes.

We are so very grateful that the doctors caught this so early, that her surgery went so well, her recovery was quick and her radiation treatments have been quick.  And now it is the last one and we can celebrate with her that all is well and she will live a long and healthy life.

Greg’s mom asked me to make some chocolate covered strawberries to take to the treatment center today.  So I made them last night –

But being that I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I needed to create something pretty for the packaging.  I placed them in a white bakery box and then added some ribbon and a pretty label to the top.

I used my new Framelits Labels collection and the Apothecary Art stamp set both in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.  The label image is stamped on Very Vanilla card stock with Soft Suede ink. The flowers were colored with Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write marker.  Then I have a Pink Pirouette layer and finally Soft Suede – all the layers were sponged with Soft Suede ink.

I added the vintage button brads to hold the label onto the ribbon.  And finished with pearls in the flower centers and some butterflies.

I hope everyone at the radiation center enjoys this little thank you treat.  They were all so very nice and took such good care of Greg’s mom.

Mixed Bunch card

One of the stamp sets that all the Leadership Attendees received was called Mixed Bunch.  I used it to create this card.

I wanted to use the little butterfly brads that are in the Brad Pack that you can get free during Sale-A-Bration.  There are five different brad designs in the pack and my favorite are the little Soft Suede butterflies.  This card has a Soft Suede card base and then a Crumb Cake layer.  On this layer I stamped the flower images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the small medallion.  I also used the splatter from the French Foliage stamp set.  everything was stamped in Soft Suede ink.  The flowers were colored in with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker.  I added the butterfly brads to the center of each flower.  On one flower I added a Jewelry Tag with the “thanks so much” from Tiny Tags stamp set.  And finished the front panel with a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding that I tied in a bow.

I’ll be back tomorrow.
