Jan 25, 2013 | Big Shot, Birthday, Cards, Sale-A-Bration 2013 |
This is a really fun bright birthday card! And rather easy and fun to make – fun if you like the color spritzer tool – which I do!

I did a lot of spritzing on this card which makes each one unique. This was my GoDiva Sale-A-Bration swap card that I made to showcase some of our fun new Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration products that you can earn free through March 22, 2013. Here is a look at how I made this fun card –
- first I stamped the happy Birthday from Bring on the Cake stamp set on the Whisper White panel
- then emboss the Whisper White panel with the Honeycomb embossing folder and the Big Shot
- then pull out the Color Spritzer Tool and some Stampin’ Write Markers and have fun spritzing – I used the colors to match the designer paper – Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Sahara Sand

- Cut various strips of the designer paper – Sycamore Street – a Sale-A-Bration freebie choice, snip points into the ends to make flags and staple them to the white panel
- Tie a piece of Island Indigo ribbon – Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Bundle – another Sale-A-Bration freebie choice – around the panel
- add the panel to the Tangerine Tango card base
- finish with a Tangerine Tango button – Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Bundle – a Sale-A-Bration freebie – tied with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
A super fun birthday card that you could give to anyone! It’s just bright and cheery.
Stay warm – we are anticipating sleet and freezing rain for today (Friday) – yikes! That may cause issue for my scrapbook class today – I’ll be posting on my FB page if I need to postpone or cancel it.

Jan 24, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Create with Connie & Mary, Spring Catalog 2013, Valentine's Day |
It’s a new challenge from Create with Connie & Mary . I used the cute Hearts A Flutter stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog. We are back to colors for this weeks challenge – Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink and Lucky Limeade.

I was working on cards and projects using the Hearts a Flutter stamp set for my class last week and decided to get two things done at one time – create a card for my class and for the color challenge! In the end I used the exact same card but in slightly different colors for the class – I’ll show you both but first here is my challenge card.

This card idea is from a swap I received at leadership from Kathy. I thought it was just the cutest card but I changed the colors and a couple of other things – otherwise it is the same. Here are some details on this card and then I’ll show you the other version (actually two).
- card base is Naturals White card stock, folded in half and then cut with the Scallop Square die and the Big Shot Die-cut machine – you line up the fold inside the first row of scallops so it doesn’t get cut.
- Who knew that the Hearts strip Embossing Folder matched up so perfectly with the scallop square – well it does – line up the hearts so there is one in each scallop on the front of the card – then run that through the Big Shot to emboss the front of the card.
- Stamp the hearts – one in each color and then the outlines are all in Lucky Limeade
- Tied some Raspberry Ripple ribbon around the card.
- Stamp the Love You on the scrap from where you die cut the card and punch with the Word Window punch
- Attach to the front of the card and add a couple of little pearls.
- Ta-da!
It was quick and easy and I really love how the embossed hearts line up with the scallop square – just genius! I did play around with the combination of colors – so here is a slightly different version of the same card.

And the one I used in class was just Raspberry Ripple and included Pool Party and outlined in Basic Gray – that was what most of my other projects had so this color combo matched better.

The original swap card that I got was done with a Very Vanilla card base, Primrose Petal ribbon and the hearts were stamped with Primrose Petals and Pool Party.
Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge. It is COLD here! And now they are saying ice again – yuck! With Ryan just driving himself to school this month – I don’t want any ice at all on the road! We shall see what the weather brings us.

Jan 23, 2013 | Cards, Demonstrator, Designer Series Paper, Mini - Love Notes, Sale-A-Bration 2013, Spring Catalog 2013 |
This quick little box is made from one piece of card stock and doesn’t need any adhesive – just a belly band to hold it shut. Fill it with some cute little matching Love Notes and you have a perfect little gift for someone sweet!

These are both based on ideas that I saw at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference. The box was an on stage demonstration and I think the little cards were too – but I’m not sure they were shown together – since my photos have them in different colors – I did combine the ideas for this project that I used in my team meeting this past weekend. We had lots of fun sharing both creative and business ideas and things that we learned at Leadership. Right now is a great time to join my team – during Sale-A-Bration you can choose $156.50 worth of products for your starter kit for only $99! And the kit is fully customizable so you can choose any items you want from the current catalogs! If you would like to learn more about this opportunity let me know – email me at [email protected] or check out more details on my website.
So back to this cute project – you start with a 7-1/2″ square and then use the Simply Scored Tool with the Diagonal Score Plate (you can get that FREE during Sale-A-Bration) – and score all four sides diagonally at 2-1/4″ and 3-1/2″.

Then you will do some cutting away of the little sections on each side.

Then you just fold it up to form the box. I cut a strip of Rich Razzleberry Designer Paper to go around it for a belly band – it just slides on and off. That is what holds the box shut.

Decorating the box was pretty quick –
- I stamped on the box with a couple of images from the Oh Hello stamp set
- Wrapped the strip of Designer Paper around it and glued the ends together.
- Then wrap the Linen Thread around it and tie in a bow.
- Slide the belly band off and add the Designer Builder Brad, then slide it back on.
- To make the Builder Brad – stamp an image from the Itty Bitties stamp set on card stock and punch out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack. Use a mini glue dot to attach to the Builder Brad. Then cover with the epoxy bubble that comes with the brad.
The box holds some Love Notes – which are little 3×3″ cards. I made mine out of Whisper White card stock and included matching white envelopes – they are the mini square ones in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. We made two designs at our meeting.

- The little Love Notes are made from Whisper White card stock
- Emboss the front edge with the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder.
Then stamp the words in Old Olive and the images in Rich Razzleberry- Finish the Love Note by tying a piece of Linen Thread around.
- Stamp the envelopes to match.
A fun little project – I hope you like it. The stamp set is the Oh Hello stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog. If you would like to order any of the products that I used to make this project please visit my online store on my website. Here is a full list of supplies for you.

Jan 18, 2013 | Big Shot, Birthday, Cards, Masculine, Spring Catalog 2013 |
Henry Says, Pinwheels, and Parker’s Patterns make for a fun birthday card. I created this fun card for the GoDiva Spring Catalog Swap.

I used lots of fun products from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog –
- Henry Says stamp set (my favorite!)
- Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper
- Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
- Pinwheel Sizzlets Die
- Hearts A Flutter Framelit Dies
I love the little pinwheel coming out of Henry’s trunk – I even tilted him back a bit so it looks like he is really blowing out some air to get that pinwheel going. What a fun little guy!
If you would like to buy any of these products you can shop at my online store on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net

Jan 17, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, class, Create with Connie & Mary, Designer Series Paper, Sale-A-Bration 2013, Spring Catalog 2013 |
Look at the options you have with one sketch and one stamp set! It’s a sketch challenge from Create with Connie & Mary . Combine that with the cute Patterned Occasions stamp set in the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration brochure.

I saw a cute card idea last week while I was out of town that my demonstrator friend Selene Kempton posted on her FB page. I was planning to use that idea for classes that I had this week (yesterday actually). And as I looked at the sketch for this week I decided to merge the two ideas together. And then wanted to show my classes how they could exchange the image for any image in the stamp set – giving them multiple options and allowing everyone to create a card for whatever occasion they needed. Here is my card – I actually turned the sketch again.

Here are some details on this card and then I’ll show you the other images.
- card base is Sahara Sand
- A layer of Island Indigo that was run through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder
- A strip of Sycamore Street Designer Series paper – I love those dots! – cut into a flag
- Tied some Island Indigo Baker’s Twine around the layer and tied it in a bow
- Stamp the jeans image on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch
- To dress up the jeans pierce a hole on either side at the waist and tie a bit of Baker’s Twine to create a belt!
- Punch a Decorative Label punch from Tangerine Tango card stock. Layer behind the circle and add to the front of the card.
I love the little belt! That was my favorite idea from Selene’s Card. Now these are the other images from the Patterned Occasions stamp set and what I did with them – just switch these out on the front of the card and you have a variety of options.

On these I added either a little punched heart or the little flower. Now you have a birthday, thank you, get well and a love you card. This gave everyone the option to make the card that they wanted.
Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge. I hope you are having a good week. Mine has been busy since I returned from Leadership and I still have lots to share. Unfortunately our weather here is yucky! I came home from sunny Florida to rain and it hasn’t stopped in 4 days! And tonight we could have snow/ice – we can hope it will be snow but more likely it will be ice – which won’t be good for Friday!
