Dec 6, 2013 | Cards, Christmas, Holiday Catalog 2013, Washi Tape |
This card idea came from my friend Linda. She invited me to her house and we made two different cards and I combined the ideas and created this one. Here are the details:
- card base is Chocolate Chip
- Whisper White card layer – add three strips of Washi tape – if you need help getting them lined up straight use the Stampin’ Up! grid paper as a guide. Lay the card stock on the grid paper so it’s straight, then use the lines to put down the washi tape so its straight across

- The Greeting is stamped at the base in Chocolate Chip ink – it comes from the Warmth & Wonder Hostess set in the Holiday catalog.
- Stamp the reindeer (from the same set) on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch.
- Punch out a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle from Cherry Cobbler card stock.
- Layer the circle and scallop circle together. Pierce two holes – one on either side of the reindeer’s neck. Pull a piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through and tie in a knot. Adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional over the Washi Tape.
It’s a fun quick card. I hope you like it. Washi tape is so easy to use. This is the Season of Style Washi tape by the way.

Nov 16, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Christmas, class |
Here is an idea for a Christmas Card using one of our all occasion stamp sets. It might not be one that you think of for creating Christmas. It’s the Pennant Parade stamp set.
I got the idea from a swap card I received. I wanted a woodsy feel to the card and to use traditional red and green. Here are some notes on how I made this one.
- Card Base is Real Red card stock
- A piece of Early Espresso card stock embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing folder and the Big Shot and layered on a piece of Whisper White.
- To make the tree I stamped the pennant image 3 times on Whisper White card stock and punched them out with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. I took each edge of the punched piece and pulled it through my Old Olive ink pad so that the edges would be green. And I used a Real Red marker to fill in the dots to look like garland. Each piece was layered on a a piece of Old Olive card stock punch with the scallop pennants from the punch.
- I stamped the pot on Whisper White card stock with Early Espresso ink and cut it out. I glued that to the embossed wood layer.
- Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the three pieces of the tree above the pot so they overlap one another to create a tree.
- Stamp “merry” on a piece of Whisper White and punch out with the small oval punch. The edge of the oval was pulled through the red ink pad. Punch a small hole in the end of the oval and the corner of on tree section. Use a Vintage Trinkets safety pin to attach the oval to the tree.
- to finish tie a little box of Linen Thread on the safety pin.
This card will be one of the options at my Card Maker’s Class this coming week. If you live in my area I hope you will join me.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card idea and come back again!

Nov 14, 2013 | Cards, Demonstrator |
Today I thought I would share the swaps from my last team meeting. Every other month we get together to share ideas, learn business tips and stamp of course. It is a fun evening for demonstrators on my team and those in the area that need a team meeting to go to. So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and you would like to attend my team meetings please let me know and I’ll add you to my Facebook group. If you are not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (yet) and want to learn more about joining my team I’d love to talk to you about it!
Now back to the swaps –

Nov 13, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Thank You |
Give thanks to those around you with this simple card.
I actually created this card from leftovers of a Halloween card – see it here.
I just switched out the stamp that I used. Here are the pieces and parts to make this card:
- Cajun Craze card base
- Old Olive card stock embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder and the Big Shot
- Tie a piece of Old Olive ribbon around the card stock and tie in a knot
- Using the Label Framelits cut a Cajun Craze label.
- Use Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp image – I used Old Olive and Cajun Craze. The stamp is from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set. Stamp on Whisper White card stock.
- Then cut out with the Label Framelits. Use the Piercing Template, Pad and the Piercer to add the piercing around the label.
If you want it to be a faster card then leave out the piercing – that’s what takes the longest.

Two Thank You cards to show you today….

Cindy Schuster brought these as Make&Takes for my last PAWS team meeting. Everyone got to make one of each. The cards have the same layout and the same stamps but a different look because of the colors and embellishments. One has a Fall feel and the other more of a Spring feel.
So if you have a card that you like try changing up the colors to give it a new look.
Thank you for visiting today!

Nov 7, 2013 | Big Shot, Birthday, Cards, Masculine |
I have a great Masculine Birthday card for you today! It seems that everyone struggles making cards for guys. I have a lot of guys in my family – a husband and 3 sons, a brother, my father, 2 brother in-laws and 2 nephews. That’s 10 compared to 6 girls. anyway…..

I think part of making it masculine has to do with the colors you choose. For this card I used Soft Suede and Summer Starfruit along with the Naturals White card stock.
The background technique is a fun one – I used a brayer to add Soft Suede ink to the top side of the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder – insert a piece of the Naturals White card stock and then run it through the Big Shot. It embosses the card stock and adds the ink into the recessed areas.
Here are all the elements of the card:
- Soft Suede card base
- the Modern Mosaic embossed layer
- a piece of Summer Starfruit ribbon
- Soft Suede card stock cut with the Deco Labels Framelit
- Naturals White card stock – stamp with Morning Post Numbers stamp set and cut with the Deco Labels Framelit
- Summer Starfruit card stock – stamp with Label Love and punch out with the Artisan Label punch
One more thing you could add which isn’t in this photo but was on one of the cards that I made was the addition of 2 Soft Suede candy dots on either side of the label frame.
Thanks for visiting today!
