Summer Smooches Birthday Card

I need to get on the stick and create some more with the Summer Smooches bundle of products. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is getting to pre-order products before they become available for sale to everyone.  So I was able to order the Summer Smooches bundle last month.  And I actually got the stamp set back in January – it was the gift we got at the Manager’s Reception at the Leadership conference.  But I haven’t played a lot with all my stuff so I really need to do that.  Here is one card that I created –

The idea for this card was based on a card that another demonstrator created (I need to figure out who and where I saw it).  I did make some changes – if I remember correctly – I added a Lucky Limeade card base (I believe the original card I saw was white).  I added texture to the largest oval shape – Oh by the way the three ovals that you see that is a Big Shot Die – did you know we had one that has 3 ovals on it?  I forget about it sometimes.  The smallest oval I added for the sentiment – I used the Sincere Salutations stamp set – it’s an old one – I have it from before I was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – so it’s been around for a while – I wonder if it will make it into the new catalog or if it is going to be on the retired list.  We’ll know in a few days. I also added the Real Red ribbon – I don’t think the original card I saw had any ribbon.

I used my Clear Blocks and mounted both vases on one block together.  Then used my Stampin’ Write markers to color them and stamp on the medium oval.  I stamped the flowers on extra white left from cutting the ovals and cut those out and popped them up.  Other than the cutting out part this is a quick card.

One more thing to note – Stampin’ Up! has updated the Clearance Rack – so head on over to my online store on my website and see what’s there.  Good deals that usually disappear fast.  I think they are making room for all the new things coming soon in our new catalog – June 1st!

Have a great rest of your day!

Cutest Little Purse and babies

I hope you are having a great weekend and that you have a Happy Easter with family and friends.  I’ve been getting ready all day.  The casseroles are ready to assemble and bake tomorrow, the ham is in the fridge, the brownies, cookies and treats are made, the tables are set, the eggs have been filled and the baskets are ready.  I have laundry to finish and final cleaning to do and I’ll be all ready.

But for today I have one cute little purse to share – we made these last night at my stamp club meeting.

This is the new Petite Purse Die – a sneak peek from the new catalog – you can get it now during the month of April and then it will be available in our new catalog starting June 1st!  These are so cute.

I made this one as a little Easter purse.  The purse is cut from Crumb Cake card stock, then I cut an extra front panel and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder and glued that to the front.   I cut the back and flap out a second time with some designer paper – the new Summer Smooches Designer Series paper – also available as a sneak peek in April – I used the piece that had the Tangerine Tango print.  The purse is assembled with a little bit of sticky strip on the two side flaps.

The handle is cut along with purse and I glued it to the back side of a piece of Tangerine Tango scalloped polka dot ribbon.  Then attached the ends inside the purse with a little piece of sticky strip.

I added a “Happy Easter” tag to the handle and a little button to the front flap.  Finally I stamped the little bunny from the Every Bunny stamp set on some Naturals White card stock using black StazOn ink and Watercolored with an AquaPainter.  The bunny is Crumb Cake and the scarf is Daffodil Delight.  For the egg I stamped the image on a scrap piece of the same designer paper and cut it out and glued it on top of the watercolored image.  The cut out bunny is then attached to the front of the little purse with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Inside the purse is none other than a yummy Peanut Butter Egg!

And I checked the bird house this morning and we have babies!

See TWO babies ready to eat!

There were 5 eggs and mom was watching me so I only took a quick peek and got this pictures showing the 2 babies – I don’t know if the others hatched yet.  I’ll check again in a day or so. These are the chickadees.

And one more picture to share with you today.  In my craft room I have two dogs beds for the dogs but they are different and they both always prefer the one the other one is in.  So on Friday Magnolia was in the dog bed and all of sudden Aspen hops in and lays down and she gives me this look – “Mom, look what he did…….”

I hope you enjoyed the cute little project and the fun pictures.  Have a great Easter Sunday and I’ll be back next week.

Happy Easter Everybunny

I created another Easter card using the Everybunny stamp set.

I used a strip of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper from Sale-A-Bration.  Tied a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding around the card (Crumb Cake).  I used my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle and Circle die to cut the focal point.  The stamps were stamped in Black StazOn ink and then watercolored – except for the egg – I stamped the image on another piece of designer paper from the same pack and cut it out and layered it over the stamped egg on the circle.  I call that paper-piecing.   Another little trick for you on the mushrooms I used a Poppy Parade marker to fill in the dots and the stripe and then used the Aquapainter to spread the ink from there to the rest of the mushroom which created the pink color.

Have a Happy Day!

In Color note cards

Look at these cute little note cards!  Cindy designed these as one of the Make&Takes for my last PAWS meeting.  She used all five of the 2011 In-Colors – Pool Party, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.  These are 3×3 folded notes.  The fronts are embossed with the polka dot embossing folder and then a strip of card stock is added to the front.  The flower from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and punched out with the coordinating Blossom punch.  The centers were stamped and punched with the 3/4″ circle punch and added to the flower with one of the In-Color brads.  On the side of each card is a half of the decorative label punch with one of the words from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.

On the inside is a business message from the special stamp set that demonstrators were able to earn at convention last year.  There are some messages like “thank you for your order” and “Bring a Friend”.

I have a few wildlife pictures for you – the robin gathering materials for a nest.

And check out this squirrel that I saw the other day – I wonder who he stole that big apple from!

squirrel that stole an apple

Its so big he has to stop along the way – or maybe he is just hungry and keeps stopping for a bite.  Here he continues on his way….

And here is another squirrel sitting on the wall – it looks to be a mama squirrel to me – maybe she is praying for the peanut feeder to open up for her.  The new feeder which is in the tree right behind her is squirrel proof – it shuts when the squirrel gets on it.

Have a great day!

Sweet Shop Happy Birthday Scrapbook Layout

At my March Scrapbook class we made two layouts – one was the bunny layout I showed you yesterday and the other was this fun Happy Birthday layout featuring the Sweet Shop Suite from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.

This was a fun layout that I saw in a scrapbook magazine and I wanted to adapt it to my Stampin’ Up! products.  I used Whisper White for my background  and started by drawing a grid on each page.  I used a ruler and my Stampin’ Write marker to draw the grid because originally I planned to just use the marker lines as part of the layout.  But then I decided to use the Baker’s Twine instead.  To do this I put a very thin line of the multi-purpose liquid glue (the one in the green bottle) right on top of my marker lines and then laid the Baker’s Twine in the glue – it dries pretty quickly. I used Calypso Coral for my layout but we have all this year’s in-colors in the twine so any of them would have worked that match this paper.

Here is a drawing of my grid on paper -you should be able to click on it and see a bigger version.  I tried to mark what goes in each spot – Designer paper, picture, title, journaling…

The Designer Paper is the Sweet Shop – it has some embossed patterns which add some fun texture to this layout.

I also added stickers from the coordinating designer stickers – these make fun little accents on this layout. The stamp set I used is the Take a Spin set – I stamped the birthday spinner image and cut it into triangles – then added a colored circle and one of the Sweet Shop Jelly Bean brads to the point before putting it on the page.  I add a little banner using punches from the pennant punch.  The Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die and the Happy Birthday Strip die (for the title) finish up the page.

Now it just needs some fun happy birthday pictures on it.  Enjoy!

Happy Easter Bunny Scrapbook Layout

So today I have the Bunny Scrapbook Layout that I mentioned yesterday.  I used the same bunny idea from the box and added a body and put it on this layout.

Isn’t the bunny so cute – I used the large Dresdan die petal to make the body – just trimmed it at the bottom of the page.  Remember yesterday I said I used one of the large petals to punch the bunny cheeks, well here I also punched the paws and the tail from that same piece.

Along the bottom of the layout I rolled the Every Egg Stampin’ Around Wheel – I used an Old Olive ink cartridge because that was what I had on hand.  But Lucky Limeade is the green in the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that I used on the page.  Since it is wheeled on the Crumb Cake background it matches just fine for me.

I used the Circles #2 Die and the Big Shot along with the 3-1/2″ Circle Die and cut various circles out of the Designer paper and just scattered those along the top of the page.  Added some more of the squished paper flowers and a Happy Easter flag.

Now I just need to add some pictures on the Poppy Parade panel that goes across both pages.

When Kyle was little I took him once to see the Easter Bunny – he was at our local grocery store and the kids could sit on his lap and get their picture made.  Kyle screamed like you wouldn’t believe – I have that picture somewhere – it was before this digital age so I’ll have to find it.  I’m not sure I ever took the other boys to see the Easter Bunny since it was so traumatic for Kyle that one time.  I’ll have to look and see if I have any – they would be fun on this page even if they are from different years.

So have a nice day – it’s really pretty here again.
