Christmas Crate

This is a fun little treat idea if you need something to gift this weekend.  We made this in my Tags & Treats class and I gifted one to the mail lady.  I’m trying to get my Christmas cards out.  Yesterday I had 75 go out and today another 40.  There will be one more batch going out on Monday.  I’m not sure if any will arrive before Christmas but as long as I get them in the mail by Christmas eve I’m ok with that.  Hopefully the recipient will be too.

This is the gable box turned into a crate style box.  Inside I have some festive cake balls.  I stuck with a Red, White and Silver theme for this one.  It’s a bit hard to see in the catalog but the Lustrous White Gable boxes have a shimmer to them – they aren’t just plain white.

Supply List

  • Lustrous White Mini Gable Box
  • 2×8 Cellophane bag
  • Silver Glimmer Paper
  • Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon
  • 1/8″ Solid Real Red Ribbon
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Real Red Ink
  • Dashing Deer Bundle – Dashing Deer stamp set + Detailed Deer Thinlits die
  • Big Shot Die cutting machine
  • Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets

I used some red striped paper straws to create the handle.  So that you don’t tear the box use a hole punch the size of the straw at the top of the little slot.  Mine was just a standard size hole punch like you get from the office supply store.  And I used some scotch tape to hold the little cello bag shut after I put the cake balls inside.  Enjoy!

Don’t miss the year end closeout sale – Happening now and the Clearance Rack – new items were added to it.

Finishing Farmhouse Christmas

I’m finishing up the Farmhouse Christmas projects from my Fall Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat.  I know those that attended loved them and I’ve been hearing from others that are watching my posts that they love all the ideas too.  But this isn’t the only suite that I’ve been using this year so I need to finish and move on to other things.

This first project was the last little gift everyone received.  A sweet little bag filled with a surprise.  These are the Santa’s Bags in the Holiday catalog.  I added a tag to dress up the bag and inside is a little wooden sign/ornament.

The base of the tag is the Galvanized Metallic paper that’s been embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder.  It looks amazing in real life – you just want to run your fingers across it to feel the texture.  I stamped and cut out the house with the die and then colored in with Stampin’ Blends.  I finished with a galvanized button and some cotton twine.

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas Bundle = Farmhouse Christmas Stamp set + Farmhouse Framelits dies
  • Galvanized Metallic Paper
  • Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder

  • Crumb Cake card stock

  • Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Crumb Cake

This last card is one that I received as a swap and I didn’t change anything on it at all.  When using other ideas I usually change at least one thing but this card was perfect as is.

  • Farmhouse Christmas Stamp set

Farmhouse Christmas – Day 9 & 10

Two days in one.  I’m running out of days in December and have some other projects to share that aren’t from the Farmhouse Christmas suite.  So today you get a two for one on the Farmhouse Christmas.  These two cards were ideas from a demo friend of mine – Lorri Heiling.  She has such creative ideas.  In fact probably some of my other farmhouse projects were from her ideas too.

This first one uses the truck as the focal image.  It’s stamped with Memento Black ink and colored in with the Stampin’ Blends.  In the background is a piece of the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper and a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that was run through the Big Shot in the Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder.  A tip when you run it through – be sure to send the spine of the folder through first.  And all the Dynamic Embossing folders are extra thick so you use only ONE cutting plate and place it on the top of your folder.  Don’t use a cutting plate on the bottom when making your sandwich.

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas Stamp set
  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper
  • Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • Sprig Punch
  • Mossy Meadow card stock
  • Very Vanilla card stock
  • Crumb Cake card stock
  • Stitched Labels Framelits
  • Memento Black ink
  • Stampin’ Blends: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Shaded Spruce, Old Olive
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

The Stampin’ Blends really do blend the colors well together.  I wanted Mossy Meadow which we don’t currently have in a Blends (but it’s coming) so I had to combine the Shaded Spruce and the Old Olive and blend those to get something close to what I wanted.

And here is the next one – this one is really cute!

The Designer Paper Squares in the back ground are cut with the little Stitched Square Framelit.  This is a square card – 4-1/4″ square card – and yes I just use the regular medium sized envelope to send this card.  You may wonder about where the little house comes from – we don’t have a little house die.  But we do have the big house from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies.  So here is the trick – go ahead and stamp the large house on Crumb Cake card stock and cut it out with the house framelit.  Now pull out your Paper Snips and get ready to cut along the lines.  First cut along the roof line on the left – and then along the wall on the left – leaving you with a tall skinny 2 story house.  Then I cut along the top of the lower window.  That left me with the little house – which I turned over to attach to this card – the stamping is on the back side now.  I hope that makes sense!

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas Bundle: Farmhouse Christmas Stamp set + Farmhouse Framelits dies
  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • Sprig Punch
  • Mossy Meadow card stock
  • Cherry Cobbler card stock
  • Crumb Cake card stock
  • any ink
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits
  • Stitched Labels Framelits
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

There isn’t any visible stamping on here so you can use whatever ink is close at hand.  It’s  basically creating your guide for cutting the house.

Day 8 of Farmhouse Christmas

It’s day 8 of these Farmhouse Christmas projects.  Today I have a real quick one for you.  In fact it hardly looks like it belongs with all the others.  These are little Peppermint Bark treats.  I love peppermint bark – YUM!

The tiny little wreath is from the Farmhouse Christmas Stamp set and is cut out with the coordinating Farmhouse Framelits Dies.  The rest is not part of the suite.  I’m using Real Red instead of the Cherry Cobbler on this project.  The Peppermint Bark that I found was in big bars which I decided to cut in half so I could package them in the cello bags.  Then I tied the ribbon around and added the tag.  The words are from the Treat Time stamp set.  The top of the stamp has a flower which I covered up with the tiny wreath so I would be Christmas themed.

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas Bundle – Farmhouse Christmas stamp set + Farmhouse Framelits
  • Treat Time Stamp set
  • Real Red Card stock
  • Whisper White Card stock
  • Memento Black ink
  • Real Red ink
  • 3×6 Gusseted Cello Bag
  • 1/8″ Real Red Solid Ribbon
  • 1-1/2″ Circle punch
  • 1-3/4″ Circle punch
  • 1/8 handheld circle punch
  • Real Red Dark Blends
  • Call Me Clover Dark Blends
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

This was one of the little gifts everyone got.  It is a real treat being friends with everyone that attended!

Farmhouse Christmas – Day 7

Thank you for the comments on the Farmhouse Christmas projects I’ve been sharing.  I still have more!  Can you tell I had fun with this theme/suite of products.  After the retreat I’ve used these products for a few other things too and I hope to get those shared before Christmas arrives.  Today is another card that I was really happy with.  I hope you like it too.

The front of the card is completely covered with a piece of the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  Then accented with some strips.  The Merry is cut out of the Galvanized Metal paper.  I do wish that was staying in the catalog but it is not – so if you didn’t get any yet do it quick. Use the 1/2″ circle punch to snip a little notch in each end of the card and tie the twine around the card front coming through the notch on each side.  It’s just a little different way to add the cotton twine.

Supply List

  • Merry Christmas to All Bundle – Merry Christmas to All stamp set + Merry Christmas Thinlits dies
  • Thick Vanilla Card stock
  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Very Vanilla Card stock
  • Cherry Cobbler ink
  • Galvanized Metal paper
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • 1/2″ Circle punch
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

For this card the measurements are

  • Very Vanilla Thick card stock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
  • Designer Series Paper 5-1/2″ X 4-1/4″, 4″ X 3/4″, 3-1/2″ x 1/2″
  • Very Vanilla card stock 3-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
  • Galvanized Metal Paper 4″ x 2″

The Merry Christmas to All stamp set and the Merry Christmas Thinlits will be carrying over but after January 2nd they won’t be a bundle anymore.  Get them now at the 10% discounted bundle price.

Share What You Love Swaps

At Stampin’ Up! Events we do swaps.  What’s a swap – well it’s like a cookie exchange but instead of making cookies and exchanging them with your neighbors we make cards and swap them with each other.  Mostly we swap cards but some people do scrapbook pages, little treats or other crafty items.  You come up with one design and make a number of them and then find other people to swap with so you come home with a variety of ideas.

This time I’m participating in a 50 card swap – it’s an organized swap that we had to sign up for.  I made 50 cards of the same design.  Now my swap uses the Share What You Love Designer Series paper and the 2017-2019 In Color Flower Buttons so I actually have 5 versions of the same card.  What changes is the paper and the color of the button – everything else is the same.

I matched up the buttons to the different patterns of paper – they aren’t perfect match in all cases but they are close enough that they work.  Do you love how they turned out?  I sure do.  And I love those little flower buttons!  Have you tried them they are flat and so easy to add to a card.

Supply List

  • Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Thick Whisper White card stock
  • Basic Black card stock
  • White card stock
  • Basic Black Baker’s Twine
  • 2017-2019 In Color Flower Buttons
  • Ribbon of Courage stamp set
  • Stazon Black ink
  • Support Ribbon Framelits
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine
  • Mini Dimensionals
  • Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
  • Paper Snips

The trick to making this card is to cut a 4″ square of the designer series paper.  Then layer on a 4-1/4″ square of Basic Black.  Position on the front of the card at an angle – I use my liquid glue to adhere – then I can slide it just a little if needed.  Once it’s glued down then I trim the edges.  Use paper snips or a heavy duty cutter – the paper trimmer won’t cut through all the layers so it doesn’t work so well.

To attach the flower I just used the little flower button on a Mini Dimensional and put it through the center of the flower.  Technically the flower isn’t even attached to the card.  I hope you like these as much as I do.  This was my swap for the Creating Success Training group swap.
