At Stampin’ Up! Events we do swaps. What’s a swap – well it’s like a cookie exchange but instead of making cookies and exchanging them with your neighbors we make cards and swap them with each other. Mostly we swap cards but some people do scrapbook pages, little treats or other crafty items. You come up with one design and make a number of them and then find other people to swap with so you come home with a variety of ideas.
This time I’m participating in a 50 card swap – it’s an organized swap that we had to sign up for. I made 50 cards of the same design. Now my swap uses the Share What You Love Designer Series paper and the 2017-2019 In Color Flower Buttons so I actually have 5 versions of the same card. What changes is the paper and the color of the button – everything else is the same.
I matched up the buttons to the different patterns of paper – they aren’t perfect match in all cases but they are close enough that they work. Do you love how they turned out? I sure do. And I love those little flower buttons! Have you tried them they are flat and so easy to add to a card.

The trick to making this card is to cut a 4″ square of the designer series paper. Then layer on a 4-1/4″ square of Basic Black. Position on the front of the card at an angle – I use my liquid glue to adhere – then I can slide it just a little if needed. Once it’s glued down then I trim the edges. Use paper snips or a heavy duty cutter – the paper trimmer won’t cut through all the layers so it doesn’t work so well.
To attach the flower I just used the little flower button on a Mini Dimensional and put it through the center of the flower. Technically the flower isn’t even attached to the card. I hope you like these as much as I do. This was my swap for the Creating Success Training group swap.
