Mar 19, 2009 | class, Punch Art |
This card is another punch art card. The Sesame Street characters are so fun! I think these guys would be cute on a scrapbook page too. If you had pictures of your little one eating cookies (maybe more than he should have, made a big mess, why not take a bunch of pictures) put cookie monster on there with more cookies of varying sizes and a cute title – I can just picture it in my head I just don’t have any pictures to go with it. The idea for these little fellows came from a couple of different demonstrator ideas that I have seen floating around. I get lots of punch art ideas from Heather and I think this card layout was from her too. The main punch is the scallop circle punch, eyes are made with the 1/2″ and 1/4″ circle punches. The mouths are made with pieces of ovals or circles. The beak is a small oval folded in half.
Next week is my monthly scrapbook class on Wednesday night March 25th. Click here to visit my website and see the details on my events calendar. Class starts at 6:30 pm and I need to know your coming so RSVP by the 23rd email me at [email protected]. I hope you can make it.
Happy Stamping,
Monika

Mar 18, 2009 | Big Shot, Inspired by Nature, Occasions Mini 2009, Stamps |
Isn’t this the most elegant embossed image you have ever seen?
When they showed this to the demonstrators at the Leadership Conference you should have heard the sounds of excitement! This is the new Stampin’ Up! Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die that is now available for the BIG SHOT. I know it is hard to see in this picture but the card background is actually black. The embossed image is on Pretty in Pink and then the flowers are sponged in with the Stampin’ Pastels to add some color to the flowers. The sentiment is from Inspired by Nature stamp set – stamped in Basic Black and punched with the large oval punch. The new Oval Scallop punch is punched out of Basic Black card stock – this punch will be available April 1st in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Two black brads from the Vintage Brad assortment are on either side of the oval. We made this card at the STARZ meeting.
I can just picture these embossed flowers on wedding invitations – quick simple and elegant! There is a coordinating stamp set (Fifth Avenue Floral), Designer Series Paper (Urban Oasis) and the Manhattan Flower Decor Elements too. You could decorate an entire room in this theme! Visit my website at www.monika.stampinup.net – click on the SHOP NOW button and then do a search on ‘Manhattan’ and you can see all of these products and some sample projects too.
Thanks for visiting today!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
This is what I made for the boys today. I found this leprechaun idea from Becky Roberts and combined it with the idea I saw at leadership to create these guys for my boys.
I used a regular Hershey bar and cut the card stock (Kiwi Kiss) at 5-1/2″ (one way) and then either use 5-1/2 or 6-1/2 depending on if you want it to completely cover the candy bar or not – see the one in the center has the ends of the wrapper sticking out.
For my candy bars I scored at 2-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 4-3/4″, and 5″. Wrapped it around the bar and attached the flap in the back with sticky strip. The candy bar can just be pulled out. The leprechaun is a Tangerine Tango Scallop circle, Pink Pirouette 1-3/8″ circle, eyes are 1/4″ black circles, nose is 1/2″ pink pirouette circle. Ears and mustache are the 5 petal flower punch – two petals cut off. The hat is Key tag punch in Kiwi kiss cut in half and then a word window – these were sponged. A 1/4″ strip of black across the hat. I used a GOLD painty pen to add the buckle on the hat. The stamp set is the hostess set from the last catalog with all the occasions in it. I hope you like them!
And I found a new visitor in the back yard yesterday – actually they are setting up residence for awhile.
It is a Robin building a nest on the gutter right by my kitchen window. I have been hearing alot of noise and he/she keeps flying into the windows. They have been working on the nest for the last two days. It looks like I also have a pair of blue birds building a nest in the bluebird house. But the Black-capped Chick-a-dee wants the same house. We had this problem last year too. I have seen both birds going in the house today. I checked the nest and it appears the Chickadees started a nest and the bluebirds are building on top of it. I’ll some pictures of them maybe tomorrow.
Have a nice rest of the day!
Monika

How it Works
- At the time you sign up, you fill out your Starter Kit form and other paperwork as usual, but you must also write “Three Easy Payments option” at the top of each form. (Please note that the Three Easy Payments option is not available through the Online Independent Demonstrator Application. Recruits who wish to take advantage of the offer must submit their paperwork by mail to Demonstrator Support.)
- You must also complete a separate Three Easy Payments form.
- Using the credit card information provided on the Three Easy Payments form, Stampin’ Up! charges the initial Starter Kit payment (see the table below for a breakdown of payments) on the day paperwork is processed and sends you the Starter Kit.
- On or around the 15th day of the two months following the month Stampin’ Up! received your paperwork, Stampin’ Up! will charge the subsequent payments using the same credit card information provided on the Three Easy Payments form, and the Starter Kit will be paid in full. Stampin’ Up! will only accept the same credit card for all three payments, as provided on the Three Easy Payments form. Checks or money orders will not be accepted.
Details and Restrictions
- To qualify for the Three Easy Payments option on the discounted Sale-A-Bration Starter Kit price of $169, Starter Kit paperwork and an accompanying Three Easy Payments form must be received by Stampin’ Up! (not postmarked) on or before March 31, 2009. Paperwork received after this time will be processed for the regular Starter Kit price of $199.
- After Sale-A-Bration, to qualify for the Three Easy Payments option on the regular Starter Kit price of $199, Starter Kit paperwork and an accompanying Three Easy Payments form must be received by Stampin’ Up! (not postmarked) on or before April 30, 2009. Any Three Easy Payments forms received after this time will not be processed. Demonstrator Support will contact the recruit to determine how she would like to proceed.
- Any applicable state taxes will be charged with the first Starter Kit payment. (The full amount of taxes applicable to the total Starter Kit amount will be added to the first payment. No taxes will be applied to the second and third payments.)
- For recruits who wish to add the Stampin’ Memories Starter Kit add-on for $50.00, this full amount (including any applicable taxes for the add-on) will be added to their initial Starter Kit payment.
- Any commissions for the demonstrator will be held until the final Starter Kit payment is successfully completed. At that point, Stampin’ Up! will release commissions to the demonstrator. In the event that the second or third payment is unsuccessful, Stampin’ Up! will satisfy the payment from the demonstrator’s commissions and if necessary continue to hold commissions until the full Starter Kit payment is satisfied. Any remaining funds will then be released to the demonstrator.
