Mark the Date – April 27th

Literally – Mark the Date – not the stamp set, although there is one by the same name which makes me think I should make a project with it, but it doesn’t really have anything to do with this post.  I am trying something new – brand new that I know very little about but it sounded interesting and like it would be fun!  And you get to join me!  Are you curious about what it is?  Any guesses?

Well on April 27th – that is Monday – one week from today – so Mark the Date – you need to come back to my blog.  Why?  Well you are going to go on a tour!  You are going to go on a BLOG TOUR!  That’s right you are going to hop on the train at my stop and ride through the tour until you get back here again.  What are you going to do on this tour?  You are going to get to see samples from Demonstrators around the country and each one will feature a different stamp set or product from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The tour should end up with 16 different stops.  So you will visit 16 different blogs on April 27th!  So Mark the Date and plan to set aside some time to take the tour.  The links will only be available on the 27th.  Each stop will link you to the next stop on the tour and you should get to see some awesome samples from some wonderful demonstrators!  More details will be posted closer to the date.

blog-tourMark your calendar for Monday, April 27th……..that’s when the fun begins. Hitch a ride along with us for the first ever Blog Tour! (At least it’s my first ever). First stop is right here on my blog. I’ll be sharing with you several samples using the “Sense of Time” Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The next stop on the tour will take you to another demonstrator’s blog and her feature item will be the “Scene in a Garden” stamp set.

I hope you will join me for the ride!

Wow Flowers Thank You

As I was preparing for my class on Thursday I cleaned my craft table and made a pile of card stock scraps to put away in my scrap folders.  I noticed three colors that I had lying together and thought what a good color combination.  It was Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red.  I’m sure that somewhere else that combination has already been found but that was how I happened upon it – so I set the scraps aside because I wanted to make a card using those colors.   As I look through the catalog – this color combination or something close to it is already in the catalog – the new Bright Delights rub-ons have Rose Red, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss; the Flower Fusion has Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and Old Olive; even the Retro Fresh Style Watch includes these colors – I guess I wasn’t so original after all.  Tonight I took a few minutes and put together a quick card. This would make a great one-sheet wonder idea.

Supplies:wow-flowers-thank-you

  • Wow Flowers stamp set
  • Pumpkin Pie card stock
  • Kiwi Kiss card stock
  • Rose Red card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Classic Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red
  • Stampin’ Write Marker: Rose Red
  • Punches: Scallop Circle, 1-3/8″ Circle punch, 1-1/4″ Circle punch, 1/8″ handheld punch, 1/16″ handheld punch
  • Circle Scissors Plus & Glass Mat
  • Flower Designer Brads
  • Crystal Effects
  • Tombo glue
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

Instructions:

  1. Randomly stamp Whisper White card stock using Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red ink with the flower image.
  2. Adhere to Rose Red card stock.  Adhere to Kiwi Kiss card stock.  And adhere to the front of the Pumpkin Pie card base.
  3. Stamp “Thank You” image on Whisper White card stock using Kiwi Kiss ink and punch out with the 1-1/4″ circle punch.  Adhere to a 1-3/8″ Rose Red circle.
  4. To create the flower brad go ahead and punch a 1/16″ circle in the center of the flower and insert the small wow-flower-detailflower brad.  Color the flower petals with a Rose Red Stampin’ Write Marker and then cover with Crystal Effects.  Let dry.  Punch a 1/8″ circle from a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  Use a small drop of Tombo glue to adhere to the center of the flower.  Carefully add a small “bubble” of Crystal Effects on top.  Let dry.
  5. Cut a 2″ circle from Pumpkin Pie card stock using the Circle Scissor Plus and a Glass Mat.
  6. Punch a Scallop Circle from Kiwi Kiss card stock.  Adhere to the Pumpkin Pie circle.  Adhere to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. When the Crystal effects has dried add the Rose Red circle to the center of the Kiwi Kiss Scallop Circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  8. Stamp a matching envelope.

I love how the little flower brad turned out!  I hope you like it too.

Smores Kit

smores-kitLast week was spring break and we had hoped to go camping for a couple of nights and build a fire and have smores.  Well the weather didn’t cooperate with us at all – so no camping, no fire and no smores were had by us.  I brought home the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for another day.

I remembered this project I made last fall after the Under the Stars stamp set was realeased (and our Big Shot).  This is one of my favorite projects.  It would be great for a scout group or just to make for your kids when you go on a family camping trip – or if you are having a backyard campout for a birthday theme.

Supplies:

  • Under the Stars stamp set
  • Chocolate Chip card stock
  • Kraft card stock
  • Naturals ivory card stock
  • Chocolate Chip classic ink
  • Jet Black Stazon ink
  • Big Shot die-cut machine
  • Top Note die
  • Watercolor Wonder Crayons – Earth Elements
  • Aqua Painter
  • Stampin’ Dimenstionals
  • stapler/staples
  • Smores – graham crackers, marshmallow, chocolate

What a Yummy Treat!  If you don’t have a camp fire – try the microwave version – build your smore (graham cracker, chocolate, Marshmallow) and heat for about 15 second in the microwave (until the marshmallow puffs).  Take out and add the other graham cracker to the top to make a sandwhich.

Have a great weekend!

Party Hearty

party-hearty I made this card several months ago (before I started my blog) for Kyle’s birthday.  I sort-of pulled the colors from the wrapping paper.  I decided to use Brilliant Blue instead of Tempting Turquoise (that was in the paper) to make it more of a boy card than a girl card.

Supplies:

– Party Hearty stamp set

– Only Orange card stock

– Brilliant Blue card stock

– Whisper White card stock

– Stampin’ Write Markers: Only Orange, Real Red, Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Green Galore

– Brilliant Blue Classic Ink pad

This is a super simple card – just takes some time to color the party hats with the markers.  Color, “huff” on the stamp to re-moisten all the ink, then stamp.  Repeat each time until the strip is completed.

Happy Stamping!
