Jan 18, 2010 | Big Shot, Designer Series Paper |
Last week I wrote about the Desktop Calendar Class that I had a few weeks ago. Here is the original post.
Here is the January page and the list of Stampin’ Up Supplies:
- Sahara Sand card stock
- Chocolate Chip card stock
- Whisper White card stock
- Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack
- Scallop Border punch
- Jumbo Snowflake punch
- Big Shot die-cut machine
- Billboard Alphabet Sizzlits Strip die
- Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set
- Chocolate Chip ink
And the February page and list of Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Pretty in Pink card stock
- Sahara Sand card stock
- Rose Red card stock
- Sweet Pea Designer Series paper stack
- Scallop Trim Border punch
- Full Heart punch
- Big Shot die-cut machine
- Billboard Alphabet Sizzlits Strip die
- Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder
- Rose Red ink
- Stampin’ Sponge
- Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set
- Chocolate Chip ink
Punch the hearts first and then run them through the embossing folder. I used a sponge to go over the embossing with Rose Red ink to make it pop just a little bit more.

Jan 18, 2010 | My Digital Studio |
I see a lot of people asking questions about My Digital Studio Downloads and how to get them, what is available, where to see pictures, etc. I decided it might be helpful to add some information to my blog.
I have two new pages that you can access on my side bar on my blog. Under Helpful Information – there is a My Digital Studio section. One page is about the Digital Downloads including a link to a pdf document on the instructions for getting a download and a list of all the additional downloads that have been released. The other page is about updates to the software.
I’ll be adding more informational pages about My Digital Studio over time.
Thanks so much and I hope you will find this information useful.

Jan 17, 2010 | Birthday, Demonstrator, Designer Series Paper, Occasion Mini 2010, Sale-A-Bration 2010, Stamper's Club |
My Stamper’s Club meeting was Friday night – a couple of weeks late due to New Years and our little snow/ice storm last week. I had several projects planned – the Sweet Pea card that you can see here, a 3-d project I’ll share later this week, a card I found on the new Stampin’ Connection for demonstrators. After getting everything ready I realized it was Sale-A-Bration time and none of my projects were using anything from Sale-A-Bration. So I added another quick and simple card to show off one of the new Sale-A-Bration sets called Happy Moments. You can get it free when you place an order of $50 or more from Stampin’ Up! Everyone loves free stuff – right. I know I do.
Since I needed a quick card I pulled out my last Stampin’ Success magazine (the magazine that Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get each month) and searched for a Demo It! project – these are quick projects that can be used at a workshop or event – they are quick and that was exactly what I needed. I made a few minor changes to my version.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies for this card:
- Melon Mambo card stock and ink
- Taken with Teal card stock and ink
- Pumpkin Pie card stock and ink
- Happy Moments stamp set (Sale-A-Bration)
- StazOn Black ink
- AquaPainter
- Silver Brads
- Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Staples (not SU)
The stack of presents is stamped twice – once on a piece of Whisper White, then watercolored and cut out. These are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the second one stamped on the Whisper White piece that is attached to the card front.
Saturday night was the STARZ group meeting – this is our demonstrator meeting that my upline Wendy has every other month. I hold my group meetings on the opposite months. I needed a Sale-A-Bration swap card for the meeting and decided to use the same card but with different colors.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies used:
- So Saffron card stock and ink
- Taken with Teal card stock and ink
- Pumpkin Pie card stock and ink
- Chocolate Chip ink
- Black StazOn ink
- Happy Moments stamp set (Sale-A-Bration)
- Aquapainter
- Sweet Pea Designer Series paper stack
- Silver Brads
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Staples (non-SU)
This was my “boy” version of the card above. I added an extra stamped “happy birthday” on this one.
These would be fun to make in a variety of colors with different designer series papers. My strips were 2-1/2″ wide.
If you would like more information on being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator please contact me. It’s a great time to join. The Starter Kit is 15% off and you get an extra Free stamp set – it is a great deal. I’d love to have you on my team. You’ll get to join our group meetings, you’ll get the Stampin’ Success magazine each month, have access to the new Stampin’ Connection demonstrator community and the Demonstrator website. Lots of resources and lots of fun and friendship. I love my job and would love to share it with you!

Jan 16, 2010 | Big Shot, Create with Connie & Julie, Designer Series Paper, Occasion Mini 2010, Sale-A-Bration 2010, Scrapbook Pages |
It’s Challenge Day at the Create with Connie & Julie – Occasions Edition class. Our challenge this week is a color challenge – Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip. This week in class we are featuring the following products from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog: With All My Heart stamp set, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the Sending Love Epoxy brads. If you aren’t part of the class yet you can still join – all the projects and tutorials that have already been featured are still available and there are 7 more weeks of new projects and everything will continue to be available to all members for a long time. Class members are encouraged to participate in the challenges so you can win prizes each week! So get busy with this color challenge and then go to the class site and link your entry to the challenge post. Good Luck – I hope you win!
Last weeks winners were Lisa Martz and Jessica Taylor. Congratulations ladies!
Here is my entry for this weeks color challenge:

This is a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page and I used the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series paper and the Epoxy brads to create elements on this page.
I saw this idea at least a year ago where they showcased both sides of double-sided paper by folding over the ends. Some people hate not being able to see both sides of the paper so here is one solution to that. I cut strips of different widths. One end was scalloped with the Scallop Edge punch and then folded over and secured with one of the Chocolate Chip 1/4″ Epoxy brads.
I added doodling with the Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker. The title was cut with the Big Shot and the GoGo Boots Alphabet dies – I used a mixture of upper and lowercase letters in the title. And then added one little button from the Playground Designer Buttons. The photo is my niece – I took a bunch of pictures of her playing with this hat and this was one of the cutest ones – most of the time she had it completely covering her face and I was trying to play peek-a-boo with her – so this was right after she lifted the hat – cute!
Stampin’ Up! Supplies used:
- Kraft card stock 12″ x 12″
- Pretty in Pink card stock
- Chocolate Chip card stock
- Very Vanilla card stock
- Sending Love Specialty Designer Series paper (Occasions Mini Catalog)
- Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker
- Modern Label punch
- Scallop Trim Border punch (Sale-A-Bration)
- Chocolate Chip 1/4″ Sending Love Epoxy Brads (Occasions Mini Catalog)
- Paper Piercer and Mat Pack
- Playground Designer Buttons
- Linen Thread

Jan 15, 2010 | My Digital Studio, Scrapbook Pages |
Last night I made a scrapbook page using the My Digital Studio. I am taking the online class that Heather Summers is offering. She has a video each day showing us different things with the My Digital Studio.
These are photos of Ryan playing the the State Tennis Tournament at the end of the summer. I tried to pick all the action shots of him.
Stampin’ Up! supplies:
– My Digital Studio software
– Background – color YoYo Yellow at 60% Opacity
– Stamps – Extreme Elements – black at 50% Opacity
– Photos are matted in White with a 2 size border
– Embellishments – black brads
What took me the longest was choosing the photos that I wanted to use. I had so many from that weekend. These are from the first day. I need to create one of the team and also Ryan on the second day. The team didn’t win enough matches to make it to the finals rounds that were played on the third day.
The winter season just started again. Saturdays matches were “Snowed/iced” out so the played make-up matches yesterday. Ryan and his partner Holly played the mixed-doubles line and won. The last game was a tie-breaker and Ryan and Holly were losing 1 to 6 in a 7 point game – they came back and ended up beating them 13 to 11 – you have to win by 2 points in the tie breaker.
Thanks for visiting today.
