Bouquet Bunch and a Color Challenge

This morning I made 3×3 tags that I needed for some thank yous on my customer orders and decided to use a color challenge that I found and the new Bouquet Bunch stamp set.  This set will be available in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog  beginning May 1st.  Demonstrators get to pre-order items from the mini catalogs so we can start working on ideas and samples.  This is also a 2-step stampin’ set which I’ve been using a lot of this month since there are some on special.

The color challenge is called Curtain Call Color Challenge – Act 26.

I have not seen this one before so it is new to me.  I liked the colors for this challenge so I thought I would give it a try.  The colors are Crushed Curry, Basic Grey, Going Grey and Whisper White.

The flowers are stamped once on the White square and once one another piece of white and cut out.  I colored them in with the Crushed Curry marker and then sponged around them with Crushed Curry ink.  I think really only some are flowers and some are leaves but I wanted the look of a full flower tree so I just colored them all.

The pot is stamped on Crushed Curry card stock and cut out.  I tied a piece of white embroidery thread around it – I think I should have used linen thread though because it is finer than what I used.  The image of the pot has a string tied around it so I was trying to include that as a real item.

The little thank you is from the Teeny Tiny wishes stamp set and then punched with the Curly Label punch and tucked under the gray square.  This little stamp set is just the right size for 3×3 cards and you can mix and match the pieces for different variations.

Simply Sunday Sketch

So it is way past Sunday but I just finished up my card for this challenge last night.  You can find it HERE on Heather’s blog.  She actually had a sketch and a color challenge and I just used the sketch – actually I pretty much made my card exactly like hers but used a different stamp set and changed the colors a bit.  I needed a baby card for Ryan’s Spanish teacher.  They are having a diaper shower for him at school tomorrow – the kids in each class are bringing a different size of diapers – they should be set for a long time – I hope they have room to store them all!

So this is my happy new baby card – a boy version in blue.  The same thing in pink would be cute too. The small circles say “happy”, “new”, “baby” – I stamped it in Bashful Blue so it isn’t showing well in this picture – I should have used a darker color either the Chocolate or the Navy.  The cute little border is made with the Curly Label punch and Heather has a video on her blog – just punch out and cut in half and glue them underneath the edge of the card stock.

My Stampin’ Up! Supplies are:

  • Card stock: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and a Blush Blossom marker
  • Stamps: All in the Family, Family Phrases, Extreme Elements and Well Scripted (the Congratulations on the inside)
  • Punches: Curly Label, 1-3/8″ Circle, 1-1/4″ Circle, 1″ Circle, 3/4″ Circle and Itty Bitty Circle from the new Punch Pack (coming out May 1)
  • Accessories: Soft Subtles brads, Bashful Blue Striped Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for checking in today.  I hope Ryan’s teacher likes the card and the diapers!

You Are My Sunshine

I have more sunshine to spread – this card is based on the card in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog for the Something Sweet Stamp set.   I made a few changes to my version and wanted to share it with you today.

The stamp set is Something Sweet – I happen to have it in the clear mount.  I stamped the big circle on Whisper White card stock and then stamped the petals around the ring.  I did two layers of petals – you could do more or just a single layer like the sample in the mini.  First I punched out the center with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and then I cut out around the petals.

The card base is Old Olive – a 6×6 piece folded in half.  The front has a 1-3/4″ hole punch in it.  That is where the treat cup will go.  The flower is just attached on the front around the treat cup.  For this card I made a trap door so that the seeds could come out without tearing up the card.

The trap door is a 3/4″ circle punched out of the Chocolate Chip piece on the front cover.  Just make sure the little circle ends up inside the big one.

When you attach the Chocolate Chip piece to the inside of the card don’t put any adhesive where the treat cup is so that you have a pocket to slide the door into and cover the little hole.

These are sunflower seeds that you plant and I printed the instructions from the package and attached those on the inside.  I love how this card turned out – you can send it at any time – You are my sunshine – works any time – don’t you think?

Here is a full list of Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

Sunshine Award

Look at the surprise I found last night – I was given the Sunshine Award!

How special is that?  I received this very nice comment from Shari –

“Oh Monika I love the way you did the shadow on this card – so simple!  I really do enjoy your stamping art and because it brings so much sunshine into my life, I am sharing the Sunshine award with you. The details are on my blog which is http://southerncaliforniastamper.blogspot.com. Thanks for blessing my life with your work of heart. :)”

Wasn’t that such a nice thing to say?

These are the rules for this Sunshine Award:

1.  Put the Sunshine Award on your blog and/or within your post.
2.  Pass the award to 12 other bloggers.
3.  Link the nominees within your post.
4.  Let them know they received this award by leaving a comment on their blog.
5.  Share the love and link to the person from whom you received the award.

How exciting to bring sunshine into other lives!  That’s one of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  I love it.  I needed some sunshine today because it is raining here.  So now I have to spread the sunshine on to others.  I have to nominate 12 more stampers to receive the Sunshine Award – these are in no particular order and it was hard to stop at 12 once I got going through my blog favorites.

I could keep going and list more – I have a long list of blogs – I don’t visit them all – all the time – because I would never leave my computer – which is already a big problem of mine anyway.  When I need inspiration I visit these and others on my list.  I’m posting this to my blog and then I’ll go leave comments on each of the blogs – but it might take me until tomorrow before I can get to them all.

I hope you all have a Sunshiney day!
