Jul 31, 2012 | My Digital Studio, Stampin' Up! Convention |
For a long time I wanted to create myself a business planner using My Digital Studio. The problem with store bought calendars and planners is they are what someone else thinks everyone needs or wants. Which isn’t necessarily what is going to work for me. With My Digital Studio I can create a planner with exactly what I want. Since this one is mainly for my Stampin’ Up! business I wanted it to coincide with the Stampin’ Up! year which is July through June. So that is what I did – I created my planner so that it started in July 2012 and it runs through June 2013. Now I could have even added more months to it if I wanted to look at more than a year at a time. Here is a peek of the inside for you.

My planner is 8-1/2″ tall and 11″ wide – I created in a photobook project and printed it with a soft photo cover (I’ll show you that in just a minute). On each right hand page is the calendar part. I added important dates and my regular classes that I have on my calendar along with scheduled events such as Convention, Leadership and the Getaway trip. There is a stack of the old fashioned tvs on the page where I can fill in my monthly stats.
I used the Keep In Touch Digital Kit – it is the Hostess CD in the main Stampin’ Up! catalog so you can get it free with your workshop hostess dollars. It has the papers that I used in my backgrounds and all the little elements like the TVs, envelopes, pencils, telephones and stamp images for all the speech bubbles and larger envelopes.
Each left page has places for me to write in goals and calls and followups that I need to remember to do. I have a little check list of things to remember to do each month – pay bills, write newsletters, update website and stuff like that – this will give me a place to check it off as I get it done. And since it is the end of July I better go check all of those to see what I need to do today.
Here is the front cover –
Our convention theme this year was “I am…” so my planner follows that theme with different statements on the front cover and all over the back – different things that I am. I listed some of our class titles amongst these – “I am having fun!”, “I am creative”, “I am doing business “My Way”!”.
I guess I am repeating myself a bit – here is my original post about the planner – http://monikastamp.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/my-digital-studio-planner/
To go along with my planner I wanted a journal for taking notes –
I actually made three of these – one for my friend Cindy – she actually designed the center image for the cover which she used on one of her projects for convention. We took a day prior to convention and collaborated on project ideas – we decided the Keep in Touch download worked well with the ‘I am…” convention theme and ideas just started flowing from there. I printed a 3rd journal for my upline Wendy and that was a gift to her from Cindy and I.
And get ready for tomorrow with the early release of My Digital Studio 2! Lots of new features are ready with more to come. I’ll have more details for you once Stampin’ Up! posts them tomorrow. Cindy and I will be holding a class later showing all about My Digital Studio 2’s new features. We’ll let you know more about that soon. Also we have our next MDS Club class planned for August 18th. I’m working on an email for our club list. And there is more MDS news coming tomorrow that you’ll want to come back to see. Today there are some new downloads – it is Tuesday you know – a Chevron themed download is what I saw on the list – those are so very popular right now.
Stampin’ Up! has new downloads today – You can see all the available Digital Downloads on my website.
Have a great day! Tomorrow is the first day of school for Ryan.

Jul 29, 2012 | Birthday, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Pierced Circle, Stampin' Up! Convention |
I used the Animal Talk stamp set for some of my convention swaps. I wanted to use all the stamps with the same card design and use the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series paper. Here is the result –

I have wanted a pack of designer paper for a long time that was just dots or just stripes. And this one fits perfectly. I can used every piece in the pack easily for projects and classes. Letting everyone choose their own colors. All of these cards have the same layout but everyone can choose the image and colors and make it their own.
It’s hard to see in these photos but I pierced around the punched circle using the new piercing templates (love them!) and the mat and new piercing tool (love them all). That’s really the part that takes the longest on this card is the piercing. Otherwise these are easy to put together.
Have a great day!

Jul 27, 2012 | Stampin' Up! Convention |
At the Stampin’ Up! convention there is always a Memento Mall where we can shop and purchase various Stampin’ Up! logo items. I like to pick up little gifts for my downline and stamp club members, some things for me and some things for gifts and prizes throughout the year. This year the Memento mall was set up with seasonal displays and I thought I would share them with you.

I am Summer
Each season had a tote bag and a stamp set with little incentive stamps to use for prizes. For summer there was also a water bottle and some business tools – a planner, pens and wish list pads.

I am Fall
Fall included some SU logo clothing and a card tree. Here is another look at some of the clothes.

SU clothes – you’ll see me wearing the white t-shirt!

I am Winter
The winter collection included chapstick, mittens and ornaments plus some fun little post-it note packets.

I am Spring
For spring there were some fun floral decorated tools – a multi use mini hammer with screwdrivers inside and a tape measure. Also mini magnetic dry eraser boards. They also had tissues – maybe those should have been included in the winter display.
Later they added some cute garden flags – you’ll get to see those when you visit my house on class days! and some SU cookie stamps – now I need to make more cookies. Also a bundle of new My Digital Studio print product samples just in time to show off the new My Digital Studio 2 that’s coming in August. I can’t wait to get my hands on that. Some demonstrators got a trial version of it at convention when they attended the I am Digital class (I opted to take a different class – silly me – what was I thinking!). Now I have to wait until August – good thing it isn’t far away.
Have a good rest of your day! My Scrapbook class this morning was tons of fun. And now I need to finish preparing for tomorrows PAWS team meeting. That’s going to be fun too with 14 of my demonstrator friends joining me for an evening of stamping and sharing.

Jul 26, 2012 | Big Shot, Cards, Create with Connie & Mary, SU Buttons, Thank You |
We are all back from convention – and it’s time for a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. This weeks challenge CCMC211 is a sketch challenge. I was prepping for a class on Monday and decided to use this sketch for that and get two things done with one card. And then I added to my Card Maker’s club last night and it was very popular there too – now I’m almost out of So Saffron card stock – I better put that on my next order. Here is the card for you –

Here is the sketch so you can see what I started with to get to that –

As you can see I turned the sketch on its side. And really love how my card turned out. I used the Lacy & Lovely stamp set which I got at convention in my I am Creative bonus class on Wednesday night. It’s funny that I never really noticed this set in the catalog but I really like it and the fonts on the words are just lovely – I guess that is why they called it that.
All the supplies are listed below – come play along with us this week and try your hand at this sketch. I can’t wait to see what you create. Visit Create with Connie & Mary and submit your creation for this weeks challenge – each week 3 top creations are selected. Each challenge is open for a week. And then a new challenge will be issued.
Here are a few more details about my card.

Jul 25, 2012 | Cards, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Stampin' Up! Convention |

These are some of the swaps I created for the Stampin’ Up! Convention this year. I used the Moving Forward stamp set. Which was one of our Prize Patrols on the last day of Convention! Since I didn’t make 3000 of these I know not everyone got one of my swaps but everyone at convention needs an idea for this set because now we all have it. So here you go!
This set is the Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set for this year. And this year Stampin’ Up! will be donating $3 from the sale of each set. How exciting is that! I miss volunteering at the house. Our schedules have been a bit messed up or there weren’t enough families at the house (that is actually a good thing!) for us to come. Once the fall gets here I hope that we get back on a regular schedule with the house so that we can go stamp with the kids and the families each month.
These may look a little familiar since I based my swap on my Color Challenge card for Create with Connie & Mary from the week before convention. I still had the stamp set out and all the colors and thought I should just make cards with all the images. Look how cute they turned out. You can read more about that card HERE – these swaps are a little bit simpler just because I made so many and needed to eliminate a couple of steps. Come back tomorrow for this weeks new challenge.
So used to on my blog if someone left a comment I got an email and then I could reply back to the person. I try to do that. But now I don’t seem to be getting those emails anymore! So if I didn’t reply to you that was why. I’m going to try to go back through the comments from the past few weeks and reply back to you guys. Thanks for the comments – I do read them and love getting them.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Monika
