Are you still getting ready for Halloween? I finally bought a pumpkin yesterday but I haven’t put out any Halloween decorations yet. But I have been coming up with different Halloween treat ideas and I have another one for you today. It’s based on a sketch for this weeks Create with Connie & Mary Thursday challenge.

Here is what the sketch looks like –

I guess it looks like it could be a card but it’s not! It’s actually a slip cover for a box of mummy candy that I found at the store.

It just slips around the box. I just happened to have a piece of the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series paper that was exactly the same height as the box of candy. I wrapped the paper around it and trimmed the extra and glue the ends together to form the slip cover. “Boooo” is stamped directly on the designer paper. I cut a strip of Tangerine Tango card stock and embossed it with the square lattice embossing folder – glued it diagonally to the front of the box and trimmed it against the box. I used a leftover tag from the Googly Treat Kit and stamped it with the mummy image. I sponged the tag with Crumb Cake to tone down the white since my designer paper had Very Vanilla in it. I also watercolored the mummy to give him some dimension. I tied some Basic Black ribbon around the box and through the tag. Now to decide who will get this mummy treat…..
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Ink: JetBlack StazOn, Crumb Cake
- Card Stock: Tangerine Tango
- Accessories: Big Shot die-cut machine, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, Stampin’ Sponge, Aqua-painter, Basic Black 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series paper
Visit Create with Connie & Mary and submit your creation for this weeks challenge – each week 3 top creations are selected. Each challenge is open for a week. Is this your week to be one of the top picks? Do you think you can use this sketch for something other than a card?

Finally I have the tutorial ready for my on stage presentation at the Stampin’ Up! Chattanooga Regional. I didn’t mean for it to take so long. But with lots going on and trouble with our internet connection for the last week it just didn’t happen any sooner. But I have it ready now and you still have time to make the Halloween version or try one of the other versions.
Here is another picture of my project in case you forgot because it has been so long –

Sorry for not posting in a few days. We have been having trouble with our internet connection and it was out most of Monday so I didn’t get this posted sooner. But on the bright side our landscape project is almost done.
Here is a cute card for you today. This card idea came from Sandy Hancock – it was one she had at her group meeting at convention. And I recreated a similar version for my Paper Piercing class last month. But you may be asking why was this part of that class since there is no piercing on it. Well I used the piercing template with the Stampin’ Write marker to add the red dots around the edge of the card.
I also used masking on here for the balloons. I thought it was a really cute card and would be fun in other colors too. The little hearts are from the 2-step owl punch. And I tied little baker’s twine bows to add at the base of the balloons. The stamp set is Up, Up, and Away. Colors are Daffodil delight, Pacific Point and Real Red.
Thanks Sandy for the cute idea.
I’m way behind on sending out birthday cards – yikes I need to get some out in the mail.

Good Morning! It looks like its going to be a beautiful Saturday. I hope you are doing something fun today. I’m going to go see my parents – yeah! It’s been a busy week with stamp club, MDS digi crop, a private card class, the consignment sale and our big landscaping project started. Lots of workers, trucks and equipment have been here the past few days and will continue next week – I can’t wait to see it all done. Ryan is headed to a band competition so I need to make sure he is already here shortly. Another busy day.
Here is a layout you could use to scrapbook a busy day, or a leisurely day – I think I’m going to use it for one of the days in my Hilton Head trip – the day we rode the bikes. The idea behind this layout is that you have photos from throughout the day of things that you did (or do each day). It can be a special day or an ordinary day. On the photos you would have a number representing the time of day – an 8, then 12 for noon, 2 for 2 pm, etc. I haven’t added any pictures so I don’t have my numbers on here but they are cut in Midnight Muse like the little heart by the title.

Here is the detail of the bike –

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Stamps: Summer Afternoon, Apothecary Art
- Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party
- Card Stock: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
- Accessories: Aqua Painter, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Brushed Bronze Buttons, Corner Rounder Punch, Big Shot Die-cut machine, Large Scallop Edgelit, Labels Collection Framelits, Typeset Alphabet Dies
Have a great day!

It’s a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. And for this week I made a celebration card!

This week we are working with a color Challenge –

This was a quick card that just kind of popped out of nowhere.
I think I still have the single stamps on my mind. I used another one this week – the Celebrate image from the Seasonal Sayings set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. From there I started adding layers. Then I thought it needed a spritz of color – so I took out the color spritzer tool and added some spritz. Which then made me think it kind of look like it could be fireworks. So I think this would be really cute as a red, white and blue card but since it isn’t the colors that I was working with this is maybe a birthday celebration card or for some milestone or accomplishment.
I added the stamped/punched stars and then got the bright idea to add the frayed ribbon to make it look like shooting stars! So lets celebrate and go create!
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Stamps: Seasonal Sayings, Merry Minis
- Ink: Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Markers
- Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
- Accessories: Color Spritzer, Summer Starfruit Ribbon, Gumball Green Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Polka Dot ribbon, Merry Minis Punch Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Visit Create with Connie & Mary and submit your creation for this weeks challenge – each week 3 top creations are selected. Each challenge is open for a week. Have fun with these colors. I think they work well for masculine cards.
