I’m back from the Stampin’ Up! Convention

I’m home – actually got home Sunday evening.  After a full week of creative fun with friends from all over the country my body is exhausted and my brain is full of new inspiration and ideas.  I spent Monday doing not much – it was actually my anniversary – 24 years – and I made an anniversary card for Greg – I really love how it turned out.  He brought roses home for me – just not because he remembered our anniversary 🙁 – but just because he loves me :).  We went out to a nice dinner and that was all we did for our anniversary.  Now to plan the 25th and a trip to Alaska – that is the plan anyway – now that I know when Convention is – well at least what week it will be – I can plan that trip for next summer. Look at the beautiful roses –

And here is the Anniversary Card that I made for Greg –

seriously-love-you

Here are some quick notes about this card –

  • Cherry Cobbler for the card base
  • A piece of Marina Mist Designer paper from the Polka Dot Parade pack (don’t forget there is sale this month on designer paper)
  • The arrow strip is from the Modern Medley Designer Paper pack – I cut out just a strip of the arrows and then colored in between the arrows with Stampin’ Write Markers – Marina Mist and Cherry Cobbler
  • A strip of Silver Glimmer paper
  • A circle of Very Vanilla punched with the 2-1/2″ Circle punch, stamped and pierced – first stamp “Love you” from Seasonal Sayings stamp set in Marina Mist on Very Vanilla card stock – punch out; stamp again in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the “you” into a banner; and punch out the little heart with the little circle in the Cupcake Builder punch; use the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Pierce Mat, and Paper Piercing tool to pierce the circle.
  • Stamp “Seriously” in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla card stock – the stamp is from one of the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits (there are some great stamps in these kits and a sign up special right now too – ask me about it); cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelit label and the Big Shot – line up on one side – cut and then line up the other side to make the shorter label when you cut a second time.
  • Attach everything to the card base – designer papers, glitter paper – flat with adhesive, the circle with dimensionals and the punched/cut pieces with dimensionals
  • Finish the card by adding the little heart clip (or an arrow which is current) tied with some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.

Greg didn’t remember it was our anniversary until he read the card which says – happy anniversary on the inside – but he did bring me flowers.

Happy Stamping!  I’ll be sharing convention pictures and more so be sure to come back again!

Pretty Packages

You can create some pretty packages in a snap.  It’s as easy as 1,2,3 ….

tag-a-bag-box

  1. Pick a Box like the new Tag a Bag Gift Boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  These are Kraft food safe boxes with a acetate sleeve.
  2. Add a tag using the new Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  Each kit includes supplies to make 10 tags.  Pieces include large base tags, medium builder tags, Baker’s Twine, Stampin’ Dimensionals, mini clothespins. and some adhesive strips.
  3. Fill your box with goodness!

On my box above I did add just a couple of things –

  • Bermuda Bay card stock – a 1/2 sheet cut into strips and crinkled for the filler inside.
  • Bermuda Bay card stock – punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch and Bitty Butterfly punch
  • Rhinestone
  • Stamped greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes – using Bermuda Bay ink.

These are really nice sturdy boxes and are a great size for many little things.  We made these at my Stamp Club meetings last week using all the colors in the Tag a Bag Accessory kit – Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, and Smoky Slate.

I’m out of town again this week (this is really too much travel for me).  But this time it is a girls trip and we are having Stamping fun all week long in Utah.  Sunday Cindy and I flew to Utah and met up with Elizabeth and headed to Wendy’s house.  Monday was a fun day – we went out on adventures and shopping and finished the day in the Canyon – I have pictures to download and share with you in another post.  Nancy, Carolyn and Libby joined us from Texas.  Today we are having a stamping retreat – we spent the morning stamping projects and after we finished lunch we are now learning more about My Digital Studio.

Fun times stamping with friends from all over.  Later in the week we will head into Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! Convention.  I can’t wait!

Home at last

I’m home at last.  Just wanted to let you know that my posts to my blog may be  a bit scarce.

We took a trip to San Francisco area last week – left on July 3rd and were supposed to get back on July 8th.  I finally got home last night – almost 24 hours later than planned – and after being awake for more than 32 hours. And it’s a LONG story that I’ll share later.  Anyway I’m way behind on things to do before I leave on Sunday to head to Salt Lake City for a retreat with my upline and sidelines and then the Stampin’ Up! Convention.  I’ll try to post when I can but right now it will be at the bottom of the list until I get caught up.  I hope to have time while I’m in Salt Lake City so you may see retreat and convention updates next week!

If you are my friend on Facebook you can see some of my updates on our trip and the return home on my page there.

Back to work – I have to get ready for my stamp clubs this week!
