Feb 27, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Sale-A-Bration 2014 |
Have you seen the stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure called See Ya Later? It is one that you can get FREE! And it is so much fun. I’ve made several cards with it. Here is one similar to the one shown in the brochure.

We made this in my Sale-A-Bration class and then I mailed it to Kyle. Since Kyle moved to CA I have been shipping some of his things out to him so I decided to include a card or treat or something in each box. So this card went along in one of the boxes – I thought it was very appropriate – See ya Later Alligator – Already Miss you!
That makes me think of when Kyle was little we would say “Kyle, Kyle, Crocodile”. I haven’t said that in a long time. It’s probably not appropriate to say to a 22 year old.
Items used on this card:
- See Ya Later stamp set (SAB)
- Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (SAB)
- Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (SAB)
- Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack – Summer Starfruit Bakers Twine (SAB)
- Pistachio Pudding card stock
- Summer Starfruit card stock
- Whisper White card stock
- Pennants Framelits
- Finishing Touches Edgelits
I used several Sale-A-Bration items on this card.

Thanks for visiting. Let me know what you think about the Sale-A-Bration items. Do you like the Sweet Sorbet collection? I LOVE the Baker’s Twine!!
Gotta go – Greg’s taking down the internet for a little while…..

Feb 17, 2014 | Birthday, Cards, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Stamper's Club |
I saw this fun card idea using the Tag Topper Punch and couldn’t wait to learn how to make it. I did a little searching on Pinterest and found a video from an Australian Demonstrator. This idea was one that I showed my Stamper’s Club this month and I also used it as a swap for my PAWS Team meeting.
I wanted to use some of the Sale-A-Bration FREE products and decided on the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper and the Accessory Pack with the Baker’s Twine. Since I had 3 colors of twine I made 3 different color versions of the card and let my Stamp Club decide which one they wanted.

So let’s see if I can explain (with pictures!) how to do this.
- First cut your card stock to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 (that’s your standard half sheet of card stock) – but DON’T score it in the middle like you normally would. Use a pencil and make a mark on one of the short ends – I marked at 1″. The punch won’t be perfectly centered but that was ok for me. You want the same mark on the other end of the card stock but on the opposite side. You will use these to line up to do your punching.
- Make sure the Tag Topper punch is open and wiggle your card stock in. I have my mark on the right side.

- Line up the little mark with the edge of the punch. If you click on these photos you should be able to see a bigger version.

- Once you are lined up then punch. You end up with this.

- See the little mark to the right of the punch? You should have a matching mark at the other end of the card stock but on the back side. So do a flip with the card stock and repeat what you just did on the other side. If your marks aren’t on the same side then your punches won’t line up since this is not exactly in the center of the card stock.
- Get out a paper trimmer and put one of the punched ends in the trimmer. You are going to cut off the little rectangle pieces sticking out on either side of the punch.

- Now one end looks like this

- score the punched tab that you have left

- Turn your card stock around to work on the other side. I start by lining up the edge that I just created at 4-1/4″ on my trimmer. Score all the way down to make the center score of the card.

- Slide over the card stock to trim away the two rectangles left on either side of the other punched end.

- And finally fold on the two score lines you created – one in the center and one is the tab.
Now you can decorate your card.
This is what I used on mine:
- The card base on my cards is Sahara Sand.
- I added a Whisper White layer on the inside.
- Punch a strip 5-1/4″ with the Ribbon Border Punch of the card stock in the desired color.
- Cut a 2″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and attach it to the punch strip and add this to the front panel of the card.
- Stamp an image – I used Label Love. I used the ink that matched my punched strip. Punch it out with the Artisan Label punch.
- Create a layer for the Artisan Label punch – punch to more in a coordinating color – I used the Pistachio Pudding that is in the paper. Cut each punch in half in opposite directions and then glue the halves onto the back of the stamped punch creating a mat layer.
- Punch a Itty Bitty Flower – scrunch it up to get the layers of card stock to separate and give the flower dimension. Insert a Silver Mini Brad and attach to the Artisan label. Attach the hole thing to the front panel of the card.
- Tie the punched tabs shut with the matching Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. I tied knots in the ends of the twine so it wouldn’t unravel when the card was opened and closed.

I hope that was helpful and that you can now go and make some of these cards yourself. They were a lot of fun and unique twist from the normal cards we make.
Enjoy the day!

Feb 11, 2014 | My Digital Studio, Paper Pumpkin, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Tell Me Tuesday, Weekly Deals |
It’s another Tuesday here in Georgia and school is out! This is not normal for us! Maybe they get 2 or 3 days out of school each year. Perhaps once maybe twice have they had more than that since Kyle started school (he is 22 now)! And this year it seems they have missed a ton – I think we are on day 6 or 7 – and they are out tomorrow and possibly on Thursday. It’s Ryan’s senior year and it seems he is hardly been to school the last few months. And guess what – next week they have Winter Break! Are you kidding – somehow the snow days and the breaks need to line up better.
Today is a little sad for me – Kyle is on his way to San Francisco right now – it’s the first day of the next chapter in his life. He will be staying in his own apartment tonight and starting his first real job next week. Is he really an adult now?

Feb 10, 2014 | Cards, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Valentine's Day |
Valentine’s Day is coming this week. For years this has been a family event for us – we have a special dinner and a scavenger hunt for the boys. Well this year we are doing that tonight – having our Valentine’s Dinner. Why so early – well Kyle is moving to California tomorrow morning – it will be our last night all together. I guess is works out with a special dinner.
I have a little valentine to share with you today using the Banner Blast stamp wet from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

I love this cute little card. This was an idea that Shelli shared on stage at the Stampin’ up! Leadership conference. Her version was a birthday card – using the flower image and hi banner instead. Here are the details of this card.
- Crumb Cake base
- Banner Blast stamp set (Sale-A-Bration free option)
- Classic Ink – Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit
- Banner Punch (Sale-A-Bration free option)
- stamp and punch the banner pieces – attach them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Linen Thread – tie around the card front – tuck one strand under the top edge of the banners
- cut out the little heart by hand – add a tiny rhinestone
- Express Yourself stamp set (Hostess set in annual catalog)
Really an easy card when you have the banner punch – much quicker than cutting out the banners by hands.
I live in Georgia and yes we have another winter storm coming – actually they say 2 back to back. Our county is already under a warning and has a state of emergency – although nothing has happened yet. I went to the grocery store this morning and the gas station. Both were packed with people. The eggs were gone, bananas gone, I got the last pack of strawberries (they happened to be the long stemmed ones – so we’ll have chocolate covered strawberries for dessert tonight). And lobster tales were $5 each! So I’m planning to have the boys do some minute to win it games tonight after we have our Lobster dinner. I need to set the table and get some other things done.
Oh and with the storm coming in I’m going to go ahead and drive Kyle to Atlanta tonight after dinner and let him stay with a friend. Then he can ride Marta to the airport. It is likely we will have ice here by morning and then snow. So one less night of having Kyle at home – but it will be safer that way. Tomorrow he will start a new chapter of his life in California.
Thanks for stopping by today!
