Feb 7, 2019 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
Sometimes when you start playing with the parts and pieces of the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit you just can’t stop. I ended up with a lot of alternate ideas for the January 2019 kit – Be Mine Valentine. As you know I like to pair up the kits with the Note Cards & Envelopes because it makes a quick card. Here is another one that I created for this month.

What you might notice on this card is the background. Now where did that come from? It’s easy and you have the supplies that you need right in your monthly Paper Pumpkin box. It is the blue tissue paper! I just crumpled it up and dipped it in my ink pad and then tapped it on my note card. Keep repeating until you get the amount of color that you want. I used Pool Party ink on this card.
The other things that I added for this card is the Memento Black ink and then a couple of my Stampin’ Blends markers to color the bird. The scalloped circle, the heart, the kangaroo, and the stamps are all from the kit. Let me know if you try this background technique – I’d love to see what you do with it. You can see how I did it by watching my Facebook Live video of alternate ideas from the January Be Mine Valentine kit click ==> HERE. You can see this project along with my other alternate idea projects.

Feb 6, 2019 | 2019 Occasions Catalog, Boxes, Designer Series Paper, Paper Pumpkin, Stamper's Club, Valentine's Day |
I kept seeing these adorable heart shaped treat holders on Pinterest but everyone linked to a foreign demonstrator with instructions in french. Unfortunately for me I don’t know any french. I finally found one with some photographs with measurements in centimeters so I started with that and tried to convert to inches and round it up to make it even. Played around with it a little bit until I got measurements that worked for me. They are much easier to make than they might seem. So let’s get to it.

I started by creating this version for my Stamper’s Club. This was one of their February club projects and uses the All My Love Designers Series paper. The stamp set I used for my words is Petal Palette. The little box on the inside holds a Lindor Truffle – the strawberries & cream version for Valentine’s Day. Cut your strip of Designer Series paper to be 1-1/2″ wide and 12″ long. Fold it in half. Then put some tear & tape on the end on the outside and curl the two ends together to form the heart.
To make the box I used a 3-1/2″ square of card stock – Lovely Lipstick for this one. Score all four sides at 1″ and snip two sides and fold to form a box. The tear & tape is perfect for this project. Use it to create the box and then use it on the bottom and one end to add the box inside the heart.
Supply List
- All My Love Designer Series Paper
- Lovely Lipstick card stock
- Petal Palette stamp set
- Lovely Lipstick ink
- Whisper White card stock
- Whisper White Baker’s Twine
- 1/8″ hand held punch
- Tear & Tape
After my stamp club made these I decided to make another one as an alternate project for my January Paper Pumpkin kit. I added the Animal Expedition Designer Series paper – which coordinates with the kit and the Baker’s twine to make some of these hearts out of the kit contents.

The box for this project comes from the pillow box in the paper pumpkin kit. The stamp set, ink spot and white label are all part of the kit too. If you’d like to see a Facebook Live video of this project and my other alternate projects from the January Be Mine Valentine kit go here.

Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. I took a few months off but I’m back and hope to participate every month. This month our kit is – Be Mine Valentine. It an adorable Valentine kit that coordinates with the Animal Expedition suite from the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

The kit makes 24 little pillow box treats perfect for Valentine’s Day. And there are plenty of extra little die cut pieces to make cards or other treats with.

Now the kit makes 24 pillow box treats but what if you need more and you didn’t order an extra box. Well I have a sweet idea of how to double this kit and get 24 treats out of it.
Mini Valentine Treats
Cut each pillow box in half and then you can get twice as many out of this kit. If you turn the pillow box over to the blue side and put it on your trimmer there is a line right down the middle. I added a valentine peppermint patty in each box after I assembled it. To keep them from falling out I just used some Whisper White ribbon to tie around them and hold the candy inside. That’s the only thing I added.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- #126889 Stampin’ Trimmer
- #144172 /8″ Sheer Ribbon Whisper White

Note Cards
I like to pair up the Paper Pumpkin kits with the note cards. Yes I say that all the time. But it makes quick and easy cards that you can send right out in the mail. Here are two quick ideas for you.

This first idea I added the little chameleons to the card along with some of the little hearts. To make the matching envelope I stamped the chameleon and colored him with the Stampin’ Blends.

For this one I decided to try something without the animals and focus just on the hearts. I added an extra piece of white card stock and some Pool Party ink.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete these were:
- #131527 Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes
- #132708 Memento Ink Pad
- #147274 Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Combo
- #144042 Calypso Coral Light Stampin’ Blends
- #144595 Pool Party Light Stampin’ Blends
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #147107 Pool Party Classic ink pad
I hope you liked these alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. My plan is to have a Facebook Live on Sunday afternoon showing these ideas and a couple of others.

Aug 30, 2018 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Blissful Blooms.

This month’s kit is a beautiful floral kit with silver edged envelopes. The full kit makes 10 cards – in two different designs. All you need to do is stamp the sentiments and assemble the cards.

These cards are so beautiful it was hard to do something different with them. I just didn’t want to cut them up! But I did do some cutting and came up with two alternate ideas to share.
Blissful Blooms Notepad & Pen
This first idea came about because I wanted to look at the beautiful flowers on these cards all the time. If I just made cards and mailed them off then I wouldn’t be able to do that. So instead the thought of converting one of the cards to be a notepad cover came to mind.
To cover the notepad I used a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock and cut it the width of the notepad. I scored it to fit across the front, and scored again for the depth of the pad and then the rest was folded to the back. Use some Tear & Tape to secure the back of the note pad to the back flap. Cut the front of the card off and adher it to the front of the card stock. Save the back piece we will be using it too. The label was stamped with the phrases from the Tabs for Everything stamp set. And I used the Stampin’ Write Marker to add the little dots in between. The vellum leaves and the twine are both from the kit.

I used the leftover piece from the back of the card to create the insert for the pen. Cut it to fit in the barrel – for this pen it was about 3-1/2″ long and 3/4″ wide. Stamp on the paper using the stamp set in the kit. The colors I used were – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist. Use a bone folder to curl the paper until you can roll it up tight enough to slide into the barrel of the pen. Reassemble the pen and add a piece of twine to the cap.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Blackberry Bliss
- Ink – Blackberry Bliss (in kit), Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist
- Tear & Tape
- Tabs for Everything stamp set
- Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker
- Bone Folder
- Stampin’ Trimmer
Blissful Blooms Note card
My second idea is a little note card and for this one I cut another card!! For this one I used the other design. After trimming it off the card base into a 4″ wide piece – I cut a 1-1/2″ strip off. I added that to the front of the note card. That leaves a 4″ square piece which could be used for 2 more note cards. The rest of the pieces come from the kit. I did remove the silver from the twine for this one. And don’t forget to add some stamping to the front of the little envelope.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes
- Ink – Blackberry Bliss (in kit), Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist
- Stampin’ Trimmer
I hope you liked these alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
