Do you want to have some recipe ideas featuring the new In-Colors? I mean real food recipes – not card recipes!
At my New Catalog Kickoff party I wanted to feature snacks that related to our new in-colors since whoever creates the names generally seems to always be hungry as most of them are food related. So prior to my party I went on a search for some recipes to try and here is what I came up with.
First I had Cucumber Crush Bites –
This was a recipe I had found a few months ago online somewhere and I see it going around all the time. If you are on Weight Watchers – this works – except for the cream cheese it’s no points. I used lite cream cheese but you could probably use a no-fat version too. You can find the recipe here.
The next color was Watermelon Wonder – besides just serving watermelon I wanted to find something else and came across a salsa recipe. So here is Watermelon Wonder Salsa –
This one is also great for Weight Watcher’s – the only points are the chips and I got Whole Grain tortilla chips. You can see the recipe here.
Out next color is Delightful Dijon and for that one you can go a lot of different ways. I finally choose to have Delightful Dijon Ham Sliders.
This would not be Weight Watcher friendly but I did try to make them a little better with some wheat buns and lite cheese. I think there are many versions of this recipe around. This is the one I used – see it here.
Then there is Mint Macaron – which should be easy just buy Mint Macarons. Well I couldn’t find any around here where I live so I needed an alternative. I decided on Mint “Macaron” Cupcakes.
Now I was hoping to get the frosting to look like our Mint Macaron color but I didn’t have any luck with that. Mine is just green looking and the frosting didn’t set up like it should have either – probably my fault for using lite cream cheese. I was trying to make it a bit more healthy. They still tasted good even if they didn’t look the way I wanted. See the recipe here.
So the last one was tricky – Tip Top Taupe – not exactly a food related name so I put on my thinking cap and came up with Tip Top Taupe Toffee!! I thought it was a perfect treat to round out my snacks.
I used an old recipe that I’ve made before – although usually i make it in the winter time. I swear in this summer heat it didn’t quite turn out the same – but still yummy tasting. See the recipe here.
I also served some water that I had cucumbers in so that was pretty tasty. Everyone enjoyed the snacks. Now you have your whole in-color menu ready to go! Enjoy!
Thanks for visiting today – let me know which recipe is your favorite.

Jun 23, 2015 | Cards, In Colors |
Last week I started sharing the cards from my Hands On Stamping Class introducing the new In-Colors. We met Cucumber Crush and now we are going to say hi to Watermelon Wonder. The two of them go together very well and were perfect for this card.
I used both colors to create a slice of watermelon! Yum!
I stamped with my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set – the lines on the watermelon rind and the texture for the inside of the watermelon. I added seeds – they are the little candle flame from the Cupcake Punch.
A little bit of washi tape along the bottom of the card – that’s from the Cherry On Top collection. And then the new lace ribbon in Watermelon Wonder. So sweet!

Jun 20, 2015 | Cards, Thank You, Thinlits |
It’s been a really long time since I’ve played along with any of the challenges that are out there. Every day there are demos from all over the world doing various challenges. I used to play along with a few but haven’t really done it in a long time. Some of my friends have started a new challenge group and I finally decided to play along with one. It’s and interesting one – not the normal challenge that most sites have. This one limits you to only certain supplies and you can’t go outside of that – there is a “basket” that you have to use a certain number of items from and then a “pantry” that you can pull from if you need to.

This basket of supplies was really not what I would normally pull from – the colors are not the norm for me. But hey it was a challenge and I was up for it. I did begin to realize that what I was seeing is that we were limited to Whisper White card stock (from the pantry) – well gold foil was an option too but I didn’t use any. Here is the basket of supplies:
We had to use at least 4 – I used the Hello You Thinlits, Work of Art stamp set and the Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss ink.
It turned out to be a very clean card – with all that white. I cut the “thanks” from the Hello You thinlits and then cut off the ‘s’. I actually cut two of them. One I placed on the card from and then stamped over it with the big swoosh from Work of Art and the Blushing Bride ink – it left a white “frame” around where the word was. I took that one off and used the second one and stamped it with the other swoosh and Blackberry Bliss ink – I covered almost all of it but if you look really close there are tiny white spots still visible. I cut thin slivers of dimensionals (adhesive is in the pantry) to put on the back and adhere it into the “framed” space. I decided to tie a little piece of White Bakers Twine (also from the pantry) on my word. I stamped the “you” from Work of Art and then layered the white piece on a Whisper White card base. That was all of it.
You can find this Tuesday Throw Down challenge here if you want to play along too. Now to save my post and then go link it up on the challenge.
Here are the supplies that I used:

Jun 18, 2015 | Birthday, Cards, In Colors |
Last week I had a Hands On Stamping Class introducing the new In-Colors. One of the new colors is Cucumber Crush – a bright green.
The Cherry On Top Paper Stack includes this color so I used strips of different prints from the pack all cut to 1″ wide and used the new Triple Banner Punch to make them all into banners. Attach them all to a piece of Whisper White card stock. On the bottom I stamped using the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set. Add a card stock strip of Cucumber Crush and some of the Crushed Curry Baker’s twine across all the strips and add attach the whole layer to a Cucumber Crush card base. A pretty quick and easy card with that new punch.

Jun 17, 2015 | Paper Pumpkin |
I don’t think I ever posted these projects from earlier this year when I played with my March Paper Pumpkin kit. It’s the one called Sew You. I took the kit with me on a retreat in the mountains in April and one evening pulled it out to play.

The kit had a some little “word bubble” elements that were hole punched for stitching the word YOU.
The stamps were various greetings to go along with it. The little black and white cards are adorable in a variety of patterns. Here are some of the things that I made. A lip balm holder – the lip balm that i use and had sitting on my table matched the epoxy accents perfectly!

some other card ideas –

Stampin’ Up! just announced that they are “retiring” some of the past kits that are available in the store. They will be gone after July 27th. Some are refills – like this one and others are full kits.
and refill kits

If you are currently an active Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can add these to any of your orders. If not go ahead and join now and pick up any kits that you love before they are gone. I’ve used the Glittered Greetings to make Graduation cards – I love the wood words in the kits. Seriously Amazing has some great elements perfect for scrapbooking and project life.
