Well it’s getting close to Easter and I better start sharing Easter projects before it is too late. This super cute Easter Bunny idea came from my friend and upline Wendy Randall. I thought it was just perfect for my Easter class so we made this a couple of weeks ago and during the class I started thinking how cute he would be on a scrapbook page so at last weeks scrapbook class we did just that. Today I’ll share the box and tomorrow I’ll show you the scrapbook page.

Don’t you love the big floppy ears? Those are from the Dresdan Die in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. This is a Big Shot/Punch Art project. For the ears I cut two sets of the Dresdan die petals and for the ears I used the smaller ones. I used one of the large ones to punch out the cheeks for the bunny face. And tomorrow you’ll see what I did with the other one. The bunny face is the Scalloped Oval Frame die – just use the inside oval and save the scallop frame for something else.
The cheeks are the 1″ circle punch and the eyes are Basic Black punched from the 1/2″ circle punch. His nose is Pretty in Pink small heart punch turned upside down. The whiskers and mouth are drawn on with the Black Journaler and there are some white gel pen highlights on his eyes. The inside of the ears are sponged with Pretty in Pink and the outsides of the face and cheeks are also sponged.
The box is Pretty in Pink (scored with the Simply Scored – love it!) and a piece of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper from the Sale-A-Bration brochure is added to the box front and back. A handle is attached with the coordinating brads. A piece of the Calypso Coral ribbon was tied around one of the ears.
The little flower embellishment is fun to make – I used a strip of the designer paper 6″ long by about 1-1/4 or 1-1/2″ wide – punched first with the Eyelet Border punch. Then I used my bone folder to curl and break up the fibers of the paper so it would be easy to work with. Then starting at on end pleat the paper and fold it into a circle to create the flower. Just smoosh it into the shape you want it. The center has a punch flower from the Boho Blossom punch to cover up the ends of the pleats. I used the crop-a-dile to punch a hole through the center of all of it and added the brad to hold it all together. If you need to add some snail or other adhesive to make the ends stay together you can but you don’t necessarily need that. Add to the bunny ear with a stampin dimensional and then add a tag that says “Happy Easter”.
Fill the box with some treats and you have a super cute Easter treat for someone sweet.
And a quick update on the birds – it looks like the chickadees ended up with 5 eggs this year.
Now we wait while they incubate which is about 11-12 days. So maybe by the end of next week the babies will start hatching.
As for the bluebirds and other houses – no luck in any of them. Just the starter nest in one which I guess didn’t suit the bluebirds after all. I’ll keep watching – maybe some later bloomers will move in soon or we’ll get the second brood for those that have more than one set of eggs in the spring. Everyone is still coming to the yard to feed. But I do need to refill the feeders.
It’s also time to hang the hummingbird feeder again (actually I should have already done it). I’ll get to that in the next day or so.
