A Flower for all Seasons Simply Adorned

I’m listening to the news and they are saying the Atlanta area may get 6-8 inches of snow from Sunday to Monday – what??  That is very unusual for us to get that much snow really to get hardly any snow… it just doesn’t happen much here and this winter we already had black ice that shut down all travel all around us causing people to abandon their cars in the middle of the road, we had snow on Christmas for the first time in well over 100 years and now a major snow/ice storm is headed our way.  So while we plan for all this cold (and I know some of you are laughing at us, but since we rarely get snow we just aren’t equipped to handle it – so it becomes a major issue) today’s stamping project is a warm sunny project.  Actually it is my “summer” Simply Adorned Charm insert from the class I had recently.

For the class we made inserts of each season, plus the owl I showed yesterday and also a monogram insert.  This is the front and back of the summer insert.  The stamp set is A Flower for all Seasons. I love the images in this little stamp set.  These are stamped with Black StazOn ink and then colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  There is some sponging around the edges with Soft Suede ink and some faux stitching.

The idea of the torn corner with the red behind it is from my friend Michelle – she made one like this but it has been so long ago since I have seen it I don’t know how similar mine ended up being like hers.  I added a tiny Linen Thread bow around the pot – I love Linen Thread.  Teeny Tiny art is what you get with the Simply Adorned charms.

Think warm thoughts.  Crossing fingers it all comes and goes so I don’t have any troubles driving to Nashville on Wednesday morning for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference.  I hope everyone that is traveling arrives safely at their destinations –  be careful out there…

Flower for All Seasons Scrapbook Page

I am here.  Only one more day of school for Ryan and Tyler – well not even a whole day just part of a day.  And Kyle has been done.  He had graduation practice this morning and tomorrow night is graduation.  I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by.  I’ll need to do some more scrapbooking for him to finish his books.  But for now I’ll be sharing some other things.

I had a fun scrapbook class on Wednesday and this is one of the 2-page layouts that we made.

I used the stamp sets Flower for All Seasons and Inspired by Nature – don’t you just love the grass you can use it for so many things.  The original layout is from an earlier month of Wow Scrapbook Kits.  It was originally made as a birthday page in pinks and blues.  The Wow Scrapbook layouts are easy to adapt to other themes using different colors and stamp sets.  Right now we have tutorials for sale and some completed pages.  This is a joint venture between Wendy and I.  Wendy is currently planning to move so we are doing some spring cleaning and selling completed Wow Scrapbook pages.  Visit our blog – wowscrapbookkits.wordpress.com – to see what we have out there right now.  And come back later as more gets added.

Have a wonderful day – I need to decide what pictures I want to add to this layout.  I love the little frog and the butterflies.  The colors are Ruby Red, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  The images were watercolored with an  Aquapainter – I have a couple of close up pictures to show you.

I hope you like it – I thought it turned out to be a happy page and could be used for many different things.

I’m a Guest Designer at  Create with Connie & Mary: Summer Edition going on now – come join us for daily projects featuring items in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog.

Spring Flowers and one egg

A Flower for All Seasons is one of my favorite sets.  This card was one that  I made for a class last Otulip-basket-with-birdctober –  the All Occasions Emergency Card Kit class – and this was the “Spring” card.  The basket of tulips reminds me of Spring and Easter and that happened to be on my mind today too.  I was out buying plates and napkins for Easter lunch – we have lots of family and friends coming over.

This is really an easy card – the hardest part is coloring in the picture.  I used Stampin’ Write Markers for this one, but you could use a variety of mediums to color in this image.  The Designer Paper is now retired but the Tea Party Designer paper would be pretty – just adjust the colors to match – or even the Flock Together Designer paper.

Before I give you the details on the card here is an update on the birds – I checked the Bluebird house this morning – and ONE blue egg is in there!  They lay one egg a day – so I’ll check tomorrow for #2.  I checked the chick-a-dee house and realized I could lift the top of the house and not just the side (and stand on my tip-toe to peek in).  Surprise Mama bird was sitting in there – oops, sorry, I shut the house.  Now I always knock before I open the house – yes, really I do – that way the birds can fly out before I open it.  Well she didn’t so either she has already laid all those eggs or was in the middle of laying and egg.  I checked back a few hours later and she wasn’t in the house and I couldn’t see any eggs – but maybe she buried them in the nest since it was all flat.  I’ll have to check again tomorrow to see what it in there.  I found a website with live video inside a bluebird nest box – I’ll add a link for that later – they seem to be a few days ahead of mine – they already have 4 eggs in the nest.

Here are the details on the card:
