Jan 10, 2012 | Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! Events |
For those Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators that qualify to attend the managers reception at the Leadership Conference – Stampin’ Up! sends a special invitation in the mail. This is my first year to qualify and so I received an invitation in the mail a few weeks back. This is what came in the envelope –
I was curious and had no idea what it might be. The paper is from the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper and there is a piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon around it. So I slid off the paper wrap and inside was a fan. I opened the fan and this is what it looked like.
And then this was on the other side –
All the details of the Manager’s Reception. It will be next week and I’m so excited to go. I’ll be meeting up with some friends from California – Cindee and Patty. When I get back from my trip I’ll let you know all about the night.
Have a great day!

Jan 9, 2012 | Big Shot, Birthday, Stamper's Club, Stampin' Up! Events |
Well it is Monday – and all my boys are back to school. Ryan actually went back last week – that’s the high school. Kyle and Tyler went back to college on Friday and their classes start today. So I’m in the house alone today. I have lots of work to do to get ready to go to leadership so I’m trying to work on that this week. Next Tuesday I’ll be going – my friend Diane is traveling with me and we will be rooming with Michelle and Becky and our friends Fran and Linda have a room in our hotel too. We will be in San Antonio, TX for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference. I’m very excited – it will be my very first Manager’s Reception. That reminds me I need to take pictures of the invitation and post that for you to see – very unique!
But for today I have a fun cheery project – we made this Friday night at my Stamp Club. I have been wanting to make this project for the last year – it was an idea that I got in a swap last year at the leadership conference. So I have held on to it waiting for the right time to use it and it happened to be at this months’ stamp club meeting. Here it is –

Doesn’t it look like a bright happy project? This would be fun as a treat at a birthday party or come up with other ideas – you just need something flat that will fit inside the CD case as the treat. I used Twizzlers for this project – we cut the long ropes in half to put them in the case. The inside of the case is lined with a piece of the Big Top Birthday Designer Series paper. Then the outside is wrapped with a belly band made from a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock and another strip of the Big Top Birthday Paper. Then tie a piece of ribbon around it. To finish the front I added a scallop circle (cut with the Big Shot) and a punched circle and some balloons.
the stamp set is called Up, Up & Away. A fun hot air balloon set. I saw a tip on another demonstrators blog for an easy way to cut out the balloons since we don’t have a balloon punch.
Stamp the balloon and then use the 1-3/8″ circle punch to punch it out – line up the top and bottom of the balloon. Then you have a circle and just trim the two sides to get the balloon shape. It’s a little bit faster than cutting out the whole thing and gives a nice curve across the top.
Tie two little bows with White Baker’s Twine – and then roll up a mini glue dot to attach them to the base of each balloon. Attach the balloons with dimensionals to the circle.
I hope you like this fun cheery project. I wish I knew who to thank for the idea but my swap from last year doesn’t have a name on it. She used different paper and a different stamp set to decorate hers – what I used is in our current Idea Book & Catalog. Nov 23, 2011 | Cards, Holiday Mini catalog 2011, Stampin' Up! Events |
I don’t think I ever shared the cards we made at the Birmingham Regional. So here they are today. They use the stamp set You Are Loved from the Holiday Mini Catalog. It’s way in the back of the mini and is more suited to Valentine’s Day so you may over look it back there – but it would be pretty for many other things. We also used the Distressing Kit with it and I really like how they turned out – gives it an aged look.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Here is a project I made using the Home for the Holidays Ensemble –
It is a Holiday Planner. I used My Digital Studio to create the cover, I printed it on Whisper White card stock on my home printer and then trimmed it to fit inside one of the Clear Mount Stamp cases. I decorated it with a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding and a die cut snowflake.
On the inside I created some helpful inserts weekly planners, to do lists, gift lists and card lists.
This useful fun project is one of the choices at my Gift Making Class next weekend. If you want to come be sure to email me. So spend some time this weekend visiting MyDigitalStudio.net. Stampin’ Up! will be posting projects all weekend – so far there is a Christmas Card idea with the Home for the Holiday ensemble and a scrapbook layout using the Delight in the Day template. And demonstrators and My Digital Studio customers will be posting their ideas in the Showcase too. Come see what we are all up to.
Have a fun weekend!

So here are the last of the paper bag ideas that I had –
This one is a Hot Cocoa filled bag. If I had found a candy cane I would have put that in there too but those aren’t out right now.
I made the little bag like I showed at the Birmingham Regional but this one I ran through the Big Shot with the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It really makes the paper feel like fabric. And I would recommend running it through with no tabs on the platform so that it doesn’t cut through the paper when it embosses so deeply.
I took a piece of the wide striped ribbon and cut it in half and used half the width to tie around the bag. It frays which I kind-of like. I stamped the snowman from Button Buddies on some Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the wide oval punch. Colored the band on the hat with Marina Mist and also went around the edge of the tag with the Marina Mist marker. Punched a little hole and tied it to the ribbon with Baker’s Twine.
I also thread some Baker’s Twine through a Marina Mist button and added that to the snowman.
Ryan took the cocoa out of the one I made and I had to replace it with a new one for my picture.
This next one is one of my favorites (along with the snowflake one). I wanted to try dressing the paper bag up a bit so it was a little fancy and vintagy (is that a word) looking. I stamped the leaves from the Best Friends Forever stamp set all over the paper bag and then made a flower with the First Edition DSP. I love these flowers.
I punched scallop circles from the paper about 3 or 4 in each size and also some from the 1″ circle punch. Crumple them all up and then uncrumple them. I stacked them all up from largest to smallest and then poked a hole through with the paper piercer. Insert one of the Antique brads. I used a Stampin’ Sponge to add some Crumb Cake ink to the flower to give it some aging. I also tied some Very Vanilla Seam Binding around the base of the flower.
Finally I added a little Jewelry Tag that says “Thanks so much” – it is from the Tiny Tags stamp set. This is tied on with the Baker’s Twine.
And inside I added a Stampin’ Spot and a little stamp to make a cute little hostess thank you gift!
The other bag that I showed was the original Halloween bag that I made – the post is here.
There was one other idea that I had that I didn’t get a chance to make and that was to do a Valentine version and inside put some 3×3 love notes. I’ll try to make that up later when I’m ready to work on V-day projects.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked all the little paper bag ideas.
