So here are the last of the paper bag ideas that I had –
This one is a Hot Cocoa filled bag. If I had found a candy cane I would have put that in there too but those aren’t out right now.
I made the little bag like I showed at the Birmingham Regional but this one I ran through the Big Shot with the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It really makes the paper feel like fabric. And I would recommend running it through with no tabs on the platform so that it doesn’t cut through the paper when it embosses so deeply.
I took a piece of the wide striped ribbon and cut it in half and used half the width to tie around the bag. It frays which I kind-of like. I stamped the snowman from Button Buddies on some Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the wide oval punch. Colored the band on the hat with Marina Mist and also went around the edge of the tag with the Marina Mist marker. Punched a little hole and tied it to the ribbon with Baker’s Twine.
I also thread some Baker’s Twine through a Marina Mist button and added that to the snowman.
Ryan took the cocoa out of the one I made and I had to replace it with a new one for my picture.
This next one is one of my favorites (along with the snowflake one). I wanted to try dressing the paper bag up a bit so it was a little fancy and vintagy (is that a word) looking. I stamped the leaves from the Best Friends Forever stamp set all over the paper bag and then made a flower with the First Edition DSP. I love these flowers.
I punched scallop circles from the paper about 3 or 4 in each size and also some from the 1″ circle punch. Crumple them all up and then uncrumple them. I stacked them all up from largest to smallest and then poked a hole through with the paper piercer. Insert one of the Antique brads. I used a Stampin’ Sponge to add some Crumb Cake ink to the flower to give it some aging. I also tied some Very Vanilla Seam Binding around the base of the flower.
Finally I added a little Jewelry Tag that says “Thanks so much” – it is from the Tiny Tags stamp set. This is tied on with the Baker’s Twine.
And inside I added a Stampin’ Spot and a little stamp to make a cute little hostess thank you gift!
The other bag that I showed was the original Halloween bag that I made – the post is here.
There was one other idea that I had that I didn’t get a chance to make and that was to do a Valentine version and inside put some 3×3 love notes. I’ll try to make that up later when I’m ready to work on V-day projects.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked all the little paper bag ideas.
Monika you started something in my house and with my class with your SU packing paper! Here is a card that we made in our Stampin’ Brunch Bunch today. When I saw your post about this paper, I thought what else could we do with this paper! They loved the class. I am going to go back onto my blog to give you a shout-out as I was hoping more people would take a look and a guess as to what paper it was that I used. Thanks for the inspiration! http://southerncaliforniastamper.blogspot.com/2011/10/stampin-brunch-bunch-class-10-22-11.html
