Heart #13 – More Amore Scrapbook Layout

We are quickly closing in on Valentine’s Day and if you happen to take photos on that day or any other day and want to scrapbook the photos of the ones you love here is the perfect layout for that.  Using the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Hearts A Flutter Stamp set and framelits – all from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.

Valentine-Scrapbook-Layout-

We made this fun layout at my scrapbook class last month.  It’s full of hearts of all shapes, sizes and patterns.  Let’s take a closer look at everything I used –

  • The bases of this layout is Basic Gray – this is a two-page 12″ x 12″ layout
  • On either side is a strip of Real Red card stock that was die cut on one edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelit Die and then layered with a strip from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper
  • Tucked in on either side are Very Vanilla and Pool Party card stock that has been cut with the Labels Collection Framelit Dies – I actually used the same size die for both colors and just off set them to show the layers.
  • valentine-page-detailThe banner is made from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and the pieces cut with the Hearts a Flutter framelits – these can be purchased as a bundle (15% savings).  The colors are Pool Party, Primrose Petals and Real Red.  The banner is accented with a laser cut heart from the More Amore Specialty paper and a button from the Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack (you can earn this for free during Sale-A-Bration).  I used the Pool Party Baker’s Twine to string everything together.
  • valentine-page-bannerThe photo mats are Very Vanilla – but you could completely replace those with photos, or use them as mats.
  • Along the bottom of the photo mats are lots of hearts – punched with the Full Heart and Small Heart punch and die cut with the heart from the Hearts a Flutter framelits.  A few stamped ones are sprinkled in and another laser cut heart.
  • valentine-page-detail-2For the title I added the Love you stamp from Seasonal Sayings – this set was originally in the Holiday Mini catalog but it was carried over into the spring catalog – did you notice there is a full page of carry-over items all listed in the back of the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.   This was cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelit die set and then a Pool Party Label framelit is layered behind it.
  • Now add the photos!

Come back tomorrow for the last of the 14 hearts! If you would like to order of the products that I used visit my online store on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net – or contact me to place an order for you.  If you are local to me I will have a table at the Bascomb United Methodist Scrapbook Crop on March 2nd and have scrapbook layouts and kits available for sale.

Wind in my hair

Yes the wind was an issue and blowing through Ally’s hair.  I had the chance to see my niece and nephew the other day when Noah played in a soccer tournament not to far away.  While Noah played soccer, Ally went to the climbing tree at the end of the field.  I went to take pictures of her and got these cute ones of her trying to keep her hair out of her face.  Little girl smiles and giggles – what fun!

I created this for the challenge on mydigitalstudio.net – it was a scrapmap challenge.  Go to the site and Like my page and leave comments.  The winner of the challenge gets a free download.  And I always love free downloads.  Speaking of which everyone can get a free download today – look at this cute thing –

you can visit my website – www.monika.stampinup.net – go to the online store by clicking SHOP NOW – and find it in today’s digital downloads.  It’s free.  There are several other new ones today including more tags that match this one. And some reindeer games – really – not kidding…. go see.

Have a great day!

Fall is Here

Fall is most definitely here!  We have tons of leaves in many colors covering the ground and some still hanging on to the trees.  Last month one of the scrapbook layouts we did in my scrapbook class was a fall layout.

I used the Orchard Harvest Designer Series paper and the Early Espresso Coredinations card stock for the squares along the top and bottom of the layout.  The journaling goes under the title on the left side.  I added some cross stitches in some of the squares – used the piercing template to create the holes in a grid and then stitch with Linen Thread.  The acorns are colored with markers, stamped on Very Vanilla, and then punched out.

I have a couple of kits available for sale too.  All the cut pieces, punched pieces, and die cuts plus ribbon.  The kit does not include stamps, ink, adhesive or stamped images.    Kit price is $10 for local pickup or add shipping if it needs to be shipped to you.

I hope you are enjoying the fall – we had our first fire in our new fire pit the other weekend.  Here is a picture before it got dark.

Tyler did a good job getting the fire started and keeping it going while we enjoyed our evening.  Talk to you later.

Happy Halloween Spooks

Happy Halloween!

We made this SPOOKS scrapbook layout in my last scrapbook class – all ready for adding Halloween pictures. The layout idea is from a layout that Tiffany Bauer had on her blog.

I have a couple of kits available for sale too.  All the cut pieces, punched pieces, and die cuts plus ribbon.  The kit does not include stamps, ink, adhesive or stamped images.    Kit price is $10 for local pickup or add shipping if it needs to be shipped to you.

Happy Halloween – the trick or treaters should be coming soon.

My Digital Studio + Digital Scrapbook Day = Free, Fifty and Fun

This week Stampin’ Up! is celebrating Digital Scrapbook Day – yep one day wasn’t enough so we are celebrating all week.  You can get free downloads, 50% off Digital kits and have fun creating with My Digital Studio 2!  Monday morning I downloaded my three free downloads – A Split Second Designer Template, Days in December Kit, and Enjoying Everything Kit.

I started right away and made a couple of creations using the A Split Second Designer Template –

This is basically the template with a few changes.  I added an extra photo box with a frame and then matched the little elements from the left page.  I added more journaling lines – but didn’t need the full block so I cropped it (great new feature!).  I changed my title and used the coloring feature to make it two colors (LOVE that new feature!).  And I changed the background on the right page.  I added all my pictures – it was done very quickly.

But then I wanted to use the fun elements from this download for something else so I made this

The chevron background paper reminded me of our convention bags we got this past year.  Cindy was so excited to get this bag.  I recolored the paper for this page using the Summer Starfruit.  Add some frames around my picture and then some flags behind it.  A little journaling and a title and done!

You can get the A Split Second Designer Template free this week.  Plus the other two.  If you don’t have My Digital Studio 2 – you can download the trial version and use it free for 30 days.  Or you can use the elements in this download in other applications too.  To get your go to my online store – www.monika.stampinup.net – and if you live local to me come join Cindy and I at the Panera Bread in Towne Lake tonight – Tuesday at 6:30 – we’ll be having a Digi Crop and playing with My Digital Studio2.  See you there!

This Day Scrapbook Layout

Good Morning!  It looks like its going to be a beautiful Saturday.  I hope you are doing something fun today.  I’m going to go see my parents – yeah!  It’s been a busy week with stamp club, MDS digi crop, a private card class, the consignment sale and our big landscaping project started.  Lots of workers, trucks and equipment have been here the past few days and will continue next week – I can’t wait to see it all done.  Ryan is headed to a band competition so I need to make sure he is already here shortly.  Another busy day.
Here is a layout you could use to scrapbook a busy day, or a leisurely day – I think I’m going to use it for one of the days in my Hilton Head trip – the day we rode the bikes.  The idea behind this layout is that you have photos from throughout the day of things that you did (or do each day).  It can be a special day or an ordinary day.  On the photos you would have a number representing the time of day – an 8, then 12 for noon, 2 for 2 pm, etc.  I haven’t added any pictures so I don’t have my numbers on here but they are cut in Midnight Muse like the little heart by the title.

Here is the detail of the bike –
