Happy Thursday! There’s a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary this week and this time it’s a color challenge! Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade and Rich Razzleberry. 
And for me I thought Halloween…. Look at these cute mini Halloween Treat Bags!!
Aren’t they adorable. The idea was from a crafting magazine. There were tons of little Halloween treats and I want to try to recreate more of them but here is one.
The little bags are recycled brown paper – the paper that comes in our order boxes – yep another use for that and I have tons of it lying around. I put a piece through my Big Shot with the Petite Pocket Die!
I glued the sides together and ta-da the perfect little mini treat bag. I used my ink pads by dragging them across the bags to add color – it picks up on the creases and edges.
I used the Googly Ghouls stamp set create the little ghouls for each bag and added googly eyes to each one. The bags are held shut with a decorated wooden clothes pin. I covered each side with paper and then added a button.
Just fill the bags with a little bit of candy and you have some cute little treats. What can you create with these fun colors? Play along with us this week! While they are really fun just as tags I wanted to use them on a card. So my card swap for my PAWS meeting Saturday night did just that.
I used a Crumb Cake card base and then a layer of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder. I stamped the tags with a greeting before adding them to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And do you see what’s tied around my card? Do you know what that is? I unraveled the Gumball Green Sweater Trim and then tied it around the card for a fun playful accent. Here are a couple of other versions –

Look at this cute stamp called Frightening Feline!
it’s a single stamp in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. A cat made up of lots of Halloween words – icky, sticky, spooky, zombies, yikes, scream, eek, darkness, and on and on. The rest of the card – Basic Gray card base, First Edition Designer Series paper (sponged with some Basic Gray), Howlstooth & Scaring bone Designer Series Paper, 1/2″ Striped Satin Black/Gray Ribbon, a Pumpkin Pie button tied with some Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine, Basic Black card stock cut with the Labels Framelits, and Very Vanilla card stock stamped first with the Frightening Feline in Basic Gray and then cut with the Labels Framelits and sponged. To finish the cat add some googlies for the eyes and a little knot of Pumpkin Pie ribbon. Now that wasn’t so scary was it?
Halloween is creeping into the stores very quickly – I saw lots of themed snacks today – cookies, gummies, pop-tarts, and more. See ya later……

Just a quick post for today showing this pretty fall card using the French Foliage stamp set and the new Core’dinations card stock.
This card was not my idea – but right this minute I can’t find where I got it from. I’m pretty sure I copied it pretty close to the original one that I saw. I thought Pinterest would help me find where I get ideas from but this one I didn’t see on my boards so I’m not sure where it came from now. The card base is Crumb Cake and then a layer of the new Core’dinations card stock in Early Espresso – it was embossed with the new Woodgrain Embossing folder! And then I sanded it just a bit more – it really looks like wood! The stamped piece used French Foliage and I used the Rock ‘n’ Roll technique on the leaves – so ink in one color and then roll the edges in another – so on here I have More Mustard with Cherry Cobbler, and then Cherry Cobbler with Early Espresso.
Lots to do today – tonight Cindy and I are having an intro class for My Digital Studio 2! It’s going to be fun. I’m making little cupcakes and picks to go in them like I had at my Getaway Party. Oh speaking of which I got a UPS notice that I have a package coming from the company that organizes the Stampin’ Up! incentive trips. That must mean something is coming for the Getaway Trip that I get to go at the end of this month! Now to patiently wait until UPS delivers it on Monday! I wonder what it will be? And if you happen to know – don’t tell me I want to be surprised!

We went apple picking on Labor Day and had a fun family day together. All the boys were with us and we drove north to Blue Ridge, GA and went to Merceir Orchard. They take you by tractor out to the middle of the orchard and turn you loose to pick whatever kind of apples that you want. You have to buy a bag and then you fill it up with all of your apples and while your out there you can eat the apples too. So my project today was inspired by the apples!
This week’s Create with Connie & Mary Thursday challenge is a Sketch Challenge. I love to have a sketch to start with and I like to take a card sketch and use it for other things – and turning it is fun too. I like to do something different – be unique. And this time I decided to take the sketch and create a gift bag instead of a card – but it would make a cute card too. We picked some apples on Monday for my mother-in-law and so I thought wouldn’t it be fun to put them in a cute little bag, and since I needed to create something for this weeks sketch I figured I would use that for inspiration. One big problem though – I don’t have any current apple stamps right now – ugh! I’m trying really hard not to buy everything in the Holiday catalog and every couple of days I think – I wish I had the Perfectly Preserved stamp set – and here we go again – it has apples in it! I really needed it for this project. But do you know what you can do instead? It’s My Digital Studio to the rescue! Yep – I did buy the Digital Download for Perfectly Preserved – yeah! So not only did I not make a card, and I turned the sketch, but I also made a My Digital Studio Hybrid project – how do you like them apples!
This bag turned out so CUTE! And while I gave it to my Mother-in-law it would be an awesome teacher gift too! Or a welcome gift for a new neighbor. This is a small paper bag and there are about 5 small apples inside of it. I used the sketch to create the front panel. Here is the sketch –
So I started by creating the white panel in My Digital Studio 2 – have you tried it yet? OMG – the new feature where you can color the stamp images is so awesome! Here is that piece –
The apple is one stamp and I used the color feature to recolor the seeds to Early Espresso. The stem/leaf is another image and I used the recolor feature to change the stem to Early Espresso. And the “just for you” banner was also colored – so the letters were Cherry Cobbler. Love it!! So I printed that out on Very Vanilla card stock and then cut it to fit my project.
I added the Ribbon Border strip – that’s Gumball Green. Tied some Cherry Cobbler ribbon around my Early Espresso piece and then attached the apple piece over it. I added that to a Cherry Cobbler piece and put in three little brads from the vintage trinkets. Then glued the whole piece to the front of my bag. Its’ really cute! Preview week started on Sunday with a super cute Fall Broom center piece – it would match my card for today just perfectly. And on Monday was a fun (and tasty) Halloween Tower of Treats. I may just have to adapt that idea for Tyler’s birthday tomorrow. He’ll be 19! How do you like this fun card? The idea with the paper triangles was shared with me out in Utah by Sandy Rule. For this card I used the new Orchard Harvest Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog. Cut a piece of each pattern – start with a rectangle – I think mine were 4″ x 1-1/2″. Then cut each one into two triangles. Then glue the triangles into the sunray pattern on a piece of card stock and trim around anything that is outside the rectangle. I sponged everything with Early Espresso card stock (and believe it or not I ran out of Early Espresso card stock – Chocolate Chip to the rescue for my party on Sunday). Linen thread for an accent around the layer. I used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the “Happy Birthday”. I stamped the Owl from Owl Occasions in Early Espresso and punched it out with a circle punch. And added one of the little gift boxes in Cajun Craze. Then punched and layered two of the blossom punched flowers from Cajun Craze card stock. And the belly of the owl is paper pieced – I stamped him on a piece of the designer paper and cut it out and layered it on the stamped owl for the card.
