Spooky Card

Another Halloween project to share with you.  This is my spooky witch boots card.  I bought this stamp set Wicked Cool because I like these witch boots.  For this card I added several new products –

First, the new Web Embossing Folder for the Big Shot, then the new Waffle Paper in Basic Back, and Smooch Spritz and Chunky Black Glitter.

The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry card stock.  To create the spider web piece I used Basic Black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Web Embossing Folder.  Then I used a sponge dauber to add Whisper White craft ink on the embossed portions of the web.  Finally I took it outside (I have bad aim) and used the Color Catcher and my Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz  and spritzed on it.  Ta-da a shimmery spooky web for my card.

To create the medallion for the front of the card – at least that’s what I call it – starts with a piece of Whisper White card stock punched with the 2″ Circle Punch.  Then I stamped the boots and the Spooky on it.  I also stamped an extra pair of boots in Rich Razzleberry and cut those out and added them to the top of the others with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now to add the ruffle around the circle I cut a strip of the Waffle Paper about 1/2″ wide, put snail adhesive all around the edge of my circle on the back, start with one end of the Waffle Paper and stick it on the snail kind of crunching it up a little – once it is stuck you won’t be able to move it.  I used 1-1/2 strips and just overlapped where one ended and the other started – you can’t see it because of the wrinkles.  Turn it to the front and trim anything that looks uneven.  To add the glitter put some Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive all around the edge of the white circle – then sprinkle with the Chunky Black Glitter.  Then I put the medallion on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Still no emails about a Bingo winner – oh where oh where has my Bingo winner gone……so here we go again…

It’s BINGO TIME!  We are playing Round 3 of Monika’s Blog Bingo.  I’m currently taking names for Round 6.   See this POST for more details on how to join, how to play and the Round 1 and 2 winners.

PAWS – STARZ Meeting Swaps

At my PAWS group Meeting – which includes the STARZ group and any other demonstrators that would like to join us we did a Holiday card swap.  The meeting was so much fun and if you are a demonstrator that lives near me and want to come for the next one please contact me.  We have some fun things planned for our November meeting.  Getting together with a group of Stampin’ Up! Halloween 3×3 punch art cards

Yesterday I showed you the cute little fancy favor box that I made for my Halloween class.  Well another thing that fits nicely inside that box is 3×3 cards!  So I created some of those for the class too.

I have been seeing a lot of people use our new Owl Punch to create punch art for Halloween.  All different little owl costumes and characters so I decided to use some of those ideas to decorate the front of my 3×3 cards.

I used the color scheme from the Wicked Fun Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! – Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Cajun Craze.  For each card I cut a Basic Black piece and then a piece of the Designer Series Paper for the front.  Then I used my Owl Punch to create my characters for the front of the cards – the Ghost, the Owl, and the Bat.  The wings from the bat are actually the Bat Punch tucked behind the owl Punch.  Here are some close ups….

They were fun little critters to make for Halloween.

Now it’s our daily dose of Bingo…

Is anyone close to Bingo – 4 in row or do we have a Bingo winner today?

Eek Fancy Favor Box

Today I’m sharing a project from my Halloween class.  I was a long class because I had a ton of projects.  Once I started making Halloween projects it was hard to stop.  This one is a Fancy Favor box.  It would be perfect for the ghost treats you leave on your neighbors door step during Halloween.  I don’t know if everybody does that but around here you get a secret ghost visit by your house and they leave treats on your front door.  And then you become the “ghost” and leave treats at someone else’s house.  If you had the ghost visit you hang a sign in your window so he doesn’t visit again.  Are we the only ones that do that?

So here is my Fancy Favor box – cur from Rich Razzleberry card stock using the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor Box die.  At the top I used the new Stampin’ Around Web regular wheel.  Ink with a Basic Black cartridge and go all the way around the top edge.

Then I added pieces of Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series paper on all four sides. I used the stripes on the front and back and the green with black dots on the sides but you could use any of the patterns in the pack.  Then I tied some of the new Raven 1/2″ Lace from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog.  So if you look closely at the lace it looks like little pumpkins and if you look even closer there are little pumpkin faces – can you see them?  Two eyes, a nose and a mouth?  Is it just me or can anyone else see that?

The front of the box could be decorated with any number of different stamp sets.  I decided to use a variety of punches – Large Scallop circle, the 1-3/4″ Circle, 1-3/8″ Circle, and 1-1/4″ Circle.  Do you recognize the stamp set?  It is the Sweet Centers stamp set.

I colored just the center of the big square Halloween image and punched it out with the 1-1/4″ Circle punch.  For the Spider I used a small rhinestone brad – I have a blingy spider! I was also planning to use the Wicked Cool stamp set for this – the little witch boots would be cute on here too.

The colors are Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Old Olive, Cajun Craze.

I hope you like it.  If you want to fill use a Cello bag and tie it with some of the lace and set it inside the box.

My parents are visiting and this time I let my dad choose a Bingo piece so here we go…….

Got Treats?

Got Treats?  I got treats.  Halloween treats.  Lookie, lookie…..

Aren’t they cute?

I took the 1×8 clear bags and filled them with candy corn.  And then I made tags to resemble the pattern in the candy corn.  The bottom is Daffodil Delight punched with the new 2-1/2″ circle punch.  The center is Pumpkin Pie punched with the 1-3/4″ circle punch.  The top is a 1-3/8″ circle punch of white and then stamped with the pumpkin from the Got Treats stamp set.  I colored in the eyes with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker.

On the bottom I stamped the “Got Treats?” from the stamp.  I actually took my stamps and separated the images from the words so I could use them separately.

I tied the tags to the top of the skinny bags with some white crochet thread. Here is a close up of the tag.  I punched the hole through the little loop in the vine to tie the thread through.

I used this same design for the tags I posted yesterday.  I love all the circle punches that we have.  It makes quick tags.  I used this project for my demonstrator meeting this past weekend and also for my Halloween class.

NOTE:  I get lots of questions on where I bought my bags.  I ordered mine online from Clearbags.com.  If you order just one item (like one set of bags – 100) it is going to cost more in shipping than the one item.  I think you need to be ordering at least  $40 or more to get your shipping down.  They have lots of other items or consider getting a group together.  That is what I have done the last two times I placed orders.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Card stock: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin pie, Whisper White
  • Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker
  • Stamp sets: Got Treats
  • 2-1/2″ Circle punch, 1-3/4″ Circle punch, 1-3/8″ Circle Punch, 1/16″ Circle Punch
  • White crochet thread
