Beautiful Flowers

flowersI came home yesterday afternoon and found these beautiful flowers on my front porch.  They are from my sister-in-law, Stephanie.  Her note said “Congratulations, You’re the Best!”

She is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to Stampin’ Up! and I told her right away that I won the class contest.  She was the one that encouraged me to enter the first time and helped me make the little game night boxes that I took to the leadership conference.

The little boxes will be one of the projects that we are making in my Game Night Class on Wednesday, March 11th.  I hope you can join me.  It will be a fun night with stamping, games, and prizes.  You can find the information below and on my website.  Please send me an email if you would like to attend.

Make sure you check back here tomorrow I will be posting my March Class-To-Go Kit.  I finished the design yesterday and love how it turned out.

GAME NIGHT CLASS

Game Night Class

It’s GAME NIGHT!

Come join me for my special class.

I submitted this class idea to Stampin’ Up! and won the January class contest!

And now I hope you will join me as we make these fun projects featuring the new Game Night stamp set and Jackpot Designer Series paper.

And we can’t have a game night without playing a game…so we will play Pokeeno throughout the class (don’t worry if you haven’t played it is super easy)

and I’ll have a PRIZES to give away. It should be a fun evening!

Here are the details:

Class fee is $20. You will receive $10 off with a $50 product order.

Please bring Snail adhesive (or one of your choosing and if you don’t have any you can order it here from me), paper snips and a bone folder if you have it.

RSVP by March 7th.

We’ll be making the projects that I submitted to Stampin’ Up! (the box with pad, pencil, cards inside, coasters, and a card) – and a surprise project not shown, plus play Pokeeno for PRIZES and I’ll have a light snack.

I hope you will join me!

I am offering another Class to Go Kit – this is another option if you are unable to attend my regular classes.  You will need to have some supplies at home to complete the kit as shown, but my instructions will include some alternate suggestions and you can always adapt it to use what you do have on hand.  I’m excited this month to include two options for this Class to Go Kit – one, like last month will include the stamp set and the other will be without the stamp set.  So if you already have this stamp set (or prefer to use another set you already own) then you can purchase the second option that includes only the consumable supplies.

Visit my Stampin’ Up! Website for all the details for the February Class To Go Kit – featuring the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set (another favorite of mine), the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper, and only ONE color of ink.

Fun with Punches Class

Hi Everyone – I hope you had a nice weekend.  The weather sure was beautiful here and another nice one today – not sure how long it will last though…

I sent out my reminder for Fun with Punches Class that I’m having this Friday.  I have a 10 am class and a 7 pm class at my house.  We will be making a punch book and then some cards using some of the Stampin’ Up! punches in unique ways.  Go to my website for all the class info – www.monika.stampinup.net – I need all RSVPs by Wednesday so I can prep for the class on Thursday.  Here is a sample of what we will be doing:

Some of these ideas were from swaps that other demos created for the leadership conference.  I hope you can join me for this fun class – I love using my punches!

Creative Crafting is the No. 1 way to relieve Stress

Did you know that one of the best ways to relieve stress in your life is through adopting a fun hobby that you look forward to doing?

Creative Crafting is Number 1 and Scrapbooking is number 6.

Here is the top 10 list of stress reduction activities that have proven to be helpful:

 (taken from www.dealwithstress.com)

1.    Creative Crafts – Craft (any handmade project) provides a mean of distraction from our pressure and stresses from everyday life. When you work on a craft project, you tend to be concentrating on it making you forget about your problems.  In fact, medical studies have shown that there are physical, psychological, and spiritual benefits from having an active interest in crafting.

2.    Gardening – Being outside in the fresh air and planting living things can bring satisfaction and peace of mind.

3.    Keeping Pets – Keeping dogs and cats as pets can be a great way to maintain a stress free life.

4.    Photography – Photography can be a great “distraction” for you from your daily problems and stress.

5.    Sports – Sports activities provide a way to release your frustration and allow you to mingle with friends or teammates in the activities.

6.    Scrapbooking – Looking back on fond memories of happy moments and people are always a great way to relax and a sure way to reduce stress.

7.    Playing with Puzzles – Solving and putting together puzzles calls for great patience and brain power. It helps you to forget about worries and stay focused on piecing together the bits and pieces of the puzzle. After a game of playing around with puzzles, you tend to have a fresher mind and in a better position to face your problems and worries.

8.    Music – Music can be a powerful tool in relieving stress. Listening to stress relief music especially soothing ones can help sooth or relieve tension.

9.    Short mini vacation – A short mini-vacations is able to “re-charged” you and often you would find yourself returning to work with a fresh mind and be ready to take on further challenges.

10.  Reading – When you curl up with a good book, you put the rest of the world at bay.  You take time out to travel to distant worlds, to learn about different time periods, and to expose yourself to out-of-this-world philosophies.  You are essentially taking a vacation of the mind, which helps in reducing stress.

I hope that you will come join me for some STRESS RELIEF this month.

My class schedule is on my Stampn’ Up! website.

Feb. 6th – Stampers Club

Feb. 13th – Fun with Punches Class

Feb. 25th – Scrapbooking Class

I won! I won!

I’m was so excited to find out that I won the Stampin’ Up! class contest.  I got a call yesterday afternoon to say that I was one of the winners for the Sneak Peak Class Challenge.  Stampin’ Up! has started a class challenge where they give us (the demonstrators) a theme – this time it was items from our new catalog sneak peek – and we can design a class and submit it to Stampin’ Up!.  I designed my projects, took pictures, wrote up detailed instructions and turned it in.

Here is my winning class entry:

This will be a future class that I will actually have at my house.  I’ll be updating my calender of events – see my SU website – and include it in my newsletter.  The projects include a Game Night invitation, a box with a notepad, pencil and a deck of cards and a set of coasters.  The box was the roommate gift for my roommates at the Leadership conference in Orlando – everybody loved it.  I used the new Game Night stamp set and Jackpot Designer Series Paper.
