Sep 25, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Cards, class, D is for Dog, Designer Series Paper |
I’m back with my post for today – again sorry I didn’t get it up sooner – I wasn’t expecting to not have access last night.
This month my hands-on class was “Love Your Pets” and we focused on projects featuring cats and dogs. You might recall the dog and cat cards that I designed for our visit to the Ronald McDonald House – I decided to use that same card design for this class but step it up just a little bit. Click here to see the RMHC post.
These cards use a Crumb Cake card base, a layer of Baja Breeze card stock and Elegant Soiree Designer Series paper. The circles are cut with the Big Shot Die-cutting machine using the Circles #2 die. The images are stamped in Soft Suede ink on the Very Vanilla circles.
For the Dog card I added Linen Thread around his collar. The easiest way to do this is use a paper piercer to put a small hole at each side of the dog’s collar. Then I use a floss threader – the kind your orthodontist or dentist gives you to help get floss through tight places or around braces – pull the linen thread through the hole with the threader and then tie in the front.
A peek at the inside – I had the paw prints “walking” around the inside of the card.
The cat card is basically the same layout but turned in the other direction.
For the cat I added a small rhinestone to her collar where the tag is on the stamped image.
And the linen thread around the collar.
Isn’t she a cute cat with her new fancy collar and tag?
I’m happy with how these cards turned out. Next week I’ll be going to the Baltimore regional and I still need swaps so I’ve decided to make some more of these for my some of my swaps.
No Bingo Winner emails yet – so its time to pull another Bingo piece – here we go…..
Let’s play Bingo…..

Sep 24, 2010 | Bingo, Birthday, Blog Tour, Cards, In Colors |
Did you read the little quote for this stamp set?
“if you are what you eat, eat something cute!”
What a great little saying! So I had to make a cute card to go with it. The stamp set is called Birthday Bakery and it is one of the new Stampin’ Up! Level 1 Hostess sets.
For this card I used a Pear Pizzazz card base and then added a piece of Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper. The line of cakes is stamped in Black StazOn ink on Whisper White card stock and that is backed with a piece of Soft Suede that I punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch on one edge.
The cakes are colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers.
I tried to get a closer view of the cakes because I used the Smooch Pearlized Accent inks on them to give them some glimmer and shine.
The other cute accent is the Bitty Button. I used the little heart button and the Heart to Heart punch has the matching punched heart which is layered behind it. The little fibers that I threaded through the button are from the Blushing Bride Stitched Poly Ribbon. What I did was trim off the white edge of a small piece of ribbon so it would fray and then I took some of the frayed pieces and used a floss threader to thread them through my button. Then tie them in a knot and you have a cute little accent for this card. I hope you like it!
You can also go visit the Royal Blog Tour site – I am on there today as the featured Queen. Mark your calendars for the tour which will be November 5th – 8th. You can also win prizes if you want to play along with the games.
I’m hearing lots of reports that everyone is close to Bingo – just one away in multiple places so it can’t be much longer now…..
It’s BINGO TIME! We are playing Round 3 of Monika’s Blog Bingo. I’m currently taking names for Round 6. See this POST for more details on how to join, how to play and the Round 1 and 2 winners. If you have emailed me in the last few days I will get back to you either today or tomorrow.

Sep 23, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Halloween |
I saw this idea at the Stampin’ Up! Convention this summer. I thought it was super cute and really quick to make with the help of the Big Shot Die Cut machine. Get out the Big Shot, the Mini Milk Carton Die, your stamps and some punches and your good to go.
The Mini Milk Carton is cut out of Concord Crush card stock (I finally remember to call it that instead of Concord Grape). Then I punched a hole in one side and covered it with a piece of clear window sheet. Now you can see the candy inside – mine has candy corn.
The tag at the top uses the tag punches – both the regular and large sized – they layer together so nicely. I stamped the tag with the Wicked Cool stamp set. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole through the top flap of the Milk Carton and the top of the tag. The tag is tied on with a piece of Pumpkin Pie ribbon.
The front is decorated with some punched bats using the new Bat punch – and they are textured with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder before attaching to the box.
These are cute little treats for Halloween. This was another project from my Halloween class.
Still no BINGO winner – at least no one has come forward and sent me an email……so here we go again….I’m sure many of you are close its just a matter of which piece and who needs it…..

Sep 22, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Cards, Halloween, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010, Smooch Spritz techniques |
Another Halloween project to share with you. This is my spooky witch boots card. I bought this stamp set Wicked Cool because I like these witch boots. For this card I added several new products –
First, the new Web Embossing Folder for the Big Shot, then the new Waffle Paper in Basic Back, and Smooch Spritz and Chunky Black Glitter.
The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry card stock. To create the spider web piece I used Basic Black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Web Embossing Folder. Then I used a sponge dauber to add Whisper White craft ink on the embossed portions of the web. Finally I took it outside (I have bad aim) and used the Color Catcher and my Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and spritzed on it. Ta-da a shimmery spooky web for my card.
To create the medallion for the front of the card – at least that’s what I call it – starts with a piece of Whisper White card stock punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. Then I stamped the boots and the Spooky on it. I also stamped an extra pair of boots in Rich Razzleberry and cut those out and added them to the top of the others with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now to add the ruffle around the circle I cut a strip of the Waffle Paper about 1/2″ wide, put snail adhesive all around the edge of my circle on the back, start with one end of the Waffle Paper and stick it on the snail kind of crunching it up a little – once it is stuck you won’t be able to move it. I used 1-1/2 strips and just overlapped where one ended and the other started – you can’t see it because of the wrinkles. Turn it to the front and trim anything that looks uneven. To add the glitter put some Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive all around the edge of the white circle – then sprinkle with the Chunky Black Glitter. Then I put the medallion on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Still no emails about a Bingo winner – oh where oh where has my Bingo winner gone……so here we go again…

Sep 21, 2010 | Bingo, Birthday, Cards, UDI Color Challenge |
Welcome to week 2 of the new weekly Color Challenge over at the Utah Diva’s International Blog. Week 1 had some wonderful creations and a really pretty color combination.
Here is the color inspiration we got for this week from Gretchen –

I’m wondering where she finds these pretty pictures! That is definitely not a shoe that I would ever wear but it sure is cute! I’m a flats kind of girl or barefoot if I can be…. But this is a color inspiration challenge so I just pulled the colors from my card stock drawer and laid them on my table. I finally decided on a birthday card and this is what I ended up with.

The layout sketch is actually from an old Stampin’ Success magazine from the first of this year. I just turned it in a vertical direction. The stamp set is Birthday Bliss and the Designer Series paper is the Play Date package. I don’t think you can see it very well in this picture but I added the Gold Lame’ Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink to the candle flame and the Illuminate Top Coat Pearlized Accent Ink to the stripe on the top layer and to the middle layer – so there is a little sparkle and shine on the card.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Card stock: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Whisper White
- Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Stampin’ Write Markers: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Regal Rose
- Stamp sets: Birthday Bliss
- Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink: Gold Lame’, Illuminate Top Coat
- Silver brads
- Play Date Designer Series paper
- Paper Piercer
- Staples

Hmmm….I’m wondering where my next Bingo winner is? Have all of you playing in Round 3 been checking your cards? If you have a Bingo email me and let me know!
