Basket Bunch Carrot Box Video

Hello!  I created this cute project for Easter and decided to make a video to show how I made it.  It’s not perfect – in fact I didn’t do any editing on the video at all – so sorry about the little outburst from the dogs in the middle.  Hopefully I explained it enough so that it makes sense to everyone.  Below I’ll include a list of the supplies that I used.

I had this project in my mind because of the little carrot in the Basket Bunch stamp set.  Every Easter I buy these little chocolate carrots and wanted to make something combining them with the stamp set.  I almost got upset when I couldn’t find the chocolate carrots at the store – I though oh no I finally have an idea and they have stopped making them!  But I found them at my grocery store and when I went back yesterday they had even more than the first time I went.  Anyway here is my little project –

I used part of the packaging that the candy comes in – it holds the carrot inside my little box.  I explain that in the video but here are a few photos too.

Here is the video for you – I hope you’ll take a look and let me know what you think.

Birthday Stamp a Stack

Last weekend I held a Birthday Stamp a Stack class it was lots of fun and everyone left with a stack of birthday cards ready to mail out.

There were three card designs using the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Paper Stack and the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  Everyone made 4 of each of the cards.  We embellished the cards with Bakers Twine, Linen Thread and Gold Glimmer paper.

I also showed everyone an idea for decorating the Gold Card Tin that you can get free during Sale-A-Bration.  I included the die cuts and paper for them to use on their own tins.

Here is a suggested list of items you could order to complete this project and get the Tin for free.

  • Balloon Adventures stamp set #142823 $26  (or get the bundle with the dies which is $53)
  • Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Paper Stack #142744 $10
  • Balloon Bouquet Punch #140609 $18
  • Card Tine #143833 FREE

Everyone at the class also received a little treat from me.  Here is the whole ensemble showing just one of each card.

Do you need a quick Valentine Treat?

Do you need a quick Valentine Treat idea?

I have one for you.  I pulled out my 6×6 Sending Love Paper Stack and just cut the sheets in half to make these candy wraps.

Take the 3″ x 6″ piece of paper and adhere the two ends together.  Tie a piece of twine around the top – I used Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  And add a little tag.

Slide the candy inside – you can use glue dots to hold it in place.  I put Reeses Peanut Butter hearts inside of mine.  Very quick and you could make a whole stack for a class from the Sending Love Paper Stack.  Enjoy!

Love is in the Air

Last Friday was my monthly Card Maker’s Class.  I try to offer a variety of card choices at this class each month so that everyone can make the cards that the need coming up.  Well as we all know February is coming and that means Valentine’s day is coming.  I am not offering a class specific to Valentine’s day this year so I’ve been trying to sprinkle in some loved themed cards here and there and especially in my card class.

I find that I tend to come up with cards I really like at the very last minute before I need them.  Maybe when I have more time I keep changing and adding and over thinking it and when I’m pressed for time it’s just done because it has to be.  Well this creation is one of those.  As I got up Friday morning for my card class and looked over my selection of cards I realized I really should have one more Valentine choice.  So I ran to my craft room and created this just before class started.

2017 Desktop Calendar

Every year I create a desktop calendar for my KSU ladies and my Stamper’s Club to create.  It’s a seasonal calendar usually with 4 panels one for each set of three months.  A small visual to place on a desk at work or home so you can see days.  I’m not sure how many years its been but I use My Digital Studio to create the calendar part so maybe I started when that came out.  Even though we don’t sell the software anymore I still have it on my old computer and open that open whenever I want to use it.  So I pulled it out and created my 2017 calendar panels.  The calendar is put together with a little stand so it will stay up on the desk.  Here are some photo’s of the 2017 calendar.  Here it is standing up.

2017-desk-calendar

And the first panel is Jan – Mar 2017.  I used the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper and Bold Butterfly Framelits to decorate this panel.  Colors are Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky.

2017-cal-jan-mar

The second panel is Apr – June 2017.  I used the Fruit Stand Designer Paper and Birds & Blooms Thinlits dies.  Colors are Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil Delight.

2017-cal-apr-jun

Then you flip it and the third panel is July – Sep 2017.  I used the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Paper and Frozen Treats Framelits dies. Colors are Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Watermelon Wonder.

2017-cal-jul-sep

The fourth panel is Oct – Dec 2017.  I used the Moroccan Designer Series Paper and Flourish Thinlits dies.  Colors are Delightful Dijon and Emerald Envy.

The designer paper piece from each layer is attached to the Early Espresso base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  That is so you can slide the little stand in underneath to hold the calendar up.  Here is a photo of that.

I hope you like this little project and that everyone that got to make one will enjoy throughout the whole year!
